This Person is mistaken....Kirk Services LLC DID NOT do this project. I do not perform residential work & I ONLY work in Houston, TX & surrounding areas. If she double checks her information she will see that she has the wrong company in the wrong city.

Kirk Services did structural damage to a load bearing wall while installing a pocket door. The owner did not respond to an immediate request of his worker, his foreman or himself to remedy the dangerous situation with a wall potentially falling in my condo. I had to hire someone immediately to fix the situation to avoid greater damage. Throughout the project he and his crew responded in a hostile manner to simple straightforward homeowner questions. As a result, I have had to hire a structural engineer to assess the poor and incomplete work on my home. Mr Kirkpatrick also charged sales tax on labor and materials for the lump sum bid contract which according to the Texas Comptroller website is not permitted on remodeling. Upon being discharged from the project, the owner not only kept my 1/3 down $6722 payment, but charged me an additional $950 for incomplete and substandard work in order to leverage a lien situation. I have substantial evidence, numerous pictures and a structural engineer to substantiate my position. I have also consulted an attorney and CPA. Mr. Kirkpatrick was a referral from someone who worked with him on commercial construction projects who can not believe his work product on my small remodeling project. I would never have used him if I had known he does not properly or personally manage or direct his projects. He claimed his hours are Monday through Friday although here on Angie's list his hours include weekends. This was a critical emergency situation and by noon the following day he did not call or come in person to remedy the dangerous situation of a possible wall collapse. The professional engineer could not believe the wall did not collapse which could have injured not only myself and my family but also my neighbors in this condominium complex. Incomplete tasks include but are not limited to: incomplete demolition and haul away of trash, incomplete installation of patio doors, crooked crown molding and incomplete and structurally dangerous pocket doors, incomplete and poor framing of pony walls Not one task that he is charging me for was complete. His sub contractors also tried to go behind his back on an additional scope of plumbing work that was not in his bid. All around the entire experience was negative and not something I would recommend to anyone.

I was hired to do a remodel on Ms. [Member Name Removed]'s townhouse based on an itemized bid that was signed by the customer. We started on Tuesday 4/23/14 & were still in demo stage of the project when a door jam needed to be changed to accommodate a pocket door. On Friday 4/26/14 the door jam was removed & the doorway was temporarily braced with (2) 2x4's until we could return on Monday with the proper size door & frame. I received calls on my voicemail after hours on Friday 4/26/14. I sent her a message at 10:03 PM on Friday 4/26/14 telling her that I was aware of the situation. I assured her that it was not an emergency & told her that there was not much that I could do until the following day. The next day on my way to the site I received a message saying "don't have the workers come back. Don't want any help from you from this point forward." There were no keys in the lock box & I had to make arrangements to get our tools back. Ms. [Member Name Removed] texted a complaint at 6:54pm on a Friday evening & fired me by 11am Saturday. Then she wanted her deposit back. I told her that I would not refund any money. I guess she expected to get the demo & already completed work for free. I explained to her that she actually owed a balance per completed items on our itemized bid. We had been working for 4 days completing the demo, had already installed the patio door & had bought material for the job. She disagreed of course. After arranging to get my tools back Ms. [Member Name Removed] & I chose to settle the matter out of court by arbitration at the Better Business Bureau where it was decided that the charges were justified & no refunds were warranted. I tried to work with Ms. [Member Name Removed] & maintain a positive professional attitude, but was really not given a chance to do anything but demo.

I recently bought this house and decided to fix the collapsing driveway. This job here was a follow-on to a "concrete-raising" job that I had done just 2 days prior. This job was to add to the existing driveway and then to seal the cracks/joints--a cosmetic finishing job. Crew arrived on time and commenced to installing the new concrete pad. Afterwards, they filled in all the other cracks and expansion joints throughout the driveway. These cracks were what remained after the concrete raising job just two days prior. All cracks and expansion joints were sealed with a color that closely matched the driveway. New pad was done within 3 hours and the sealing took about another 2 hours. Can't complain about the time when you see the great results. This was a fantastic job. The new pad obviously has a much lighter color than the existing driveway but the color of the sealer was a great match. The new pad was level and square to existing driveway. And these guys cleaned up after themselves--a welcome finishing touch. I am very satisfied and highly recommend Kirk Services.
Description of Work: Dig out dirt and install a 10' x 13' concrete addition to the existing driveway using 4" of 3000 psi concrete re-inforced with #3 rebar with a light broom finish. Following up on a concrete raising job from another contractor, clean the expansion joints using grinders/wire brushes, install Sonolastic SL2 with "stone" color joints sealer (approx length 201 ft).
