2001 Toyota 4 Runner was vibrating terribly when going over 30 MPH or so. Took in to Kelso and was told drive shaft was pretty much broken. Was given an estimate on cost to replace drive shaft. Was told it would be made by a local drive shaft company and they would install it. Front rotors and pads were replaced not too long ago by NTB (Where I was significantly over charged, will not be using NTB ever again) now they are bad, when braking the car lurches back and forth from how warped the rotors are. It's even a guess that the car lurching and shaking so bad could have caused the drive shaft to break. Long story short, I have taken my vehicles to Kelso's now any time I can (I don't live close anymore but still make the drive when possible). Both of them are great and seem honest and fair. Have already recommended others to here.

The guys were great - they got my car about noon and were still able to complete the repairs needed the same day. As far as the prices on parts they told me what they would recommend which wasn't the most expensive but still gave me the most value. They reached out to me with updates as to how things were going. There wasn't any feeling of dread you might feel when you think you are being taken advantage of - I will be going back and highly recommend using them.

Kelsos did good solid work - nothing momentous on the work performed. it was within the estimate and no pressure to get stuff done that wasn't needed. I would/will return.

I took my vehicle to the dealership for its oil change and was told about a few problems that the car might be having. I had heard a noise and told the dealership and they did nothing about it. When I brought car to Steve at Kelso he drove it around and was able to diagnose the problem with my vehicle. Steve was honest about all the work that needed to be done to the car, and the fluff the dealership wanted to do. My car drives better than before because of his thoroughness.

Kelso Automotive saved me hundreds of dollars this summer. My car died on a major street during rush hour. It was near work but far from my house, and I was stranded. An oil change business helped get the car off the street. They checked the battery and alternator and said I needed both. They quoted $600-$800 for repairs. I didn't trust an oil change place to do a major repair, and I was suspicious, since they had spent only a few minutes testing the car with rudimentary portable equipment. I knew there was a Honda repair shop nearby, so I called Kelso Automotive and had the car towed. The owner, Steve Kelso, promptly took care of the towing and diagnosis. The car needed a battery but not an alternator. In fact, he said the alternator was strong and that it would be unusual for my type of car to develop this problem. When he suggested that I replace the belt and plugs, I gladly agreed, since the car has more than 100,000 miles and was more than due. I also got an oil change. The price for all this was far less than I would have paid for a battery/alternator at the oil change place. It has been about three months, and the work has held up well.

Kelso Automotive works on all types of Japanese and Korean cars. Their approach is friendly and straightforward. I appreciate a car repairman who makes recommendations based on safety and reliability and who treats women respectfully. I will go to Kelso Automotive now for all my auto service.
