The short, however, was a continuing issue. The repair of the short that they did on the first day lasted only one day. They came back and did a correction of the short that lasted a few months. The next repair of the short lasted about two months. In their last visit they said the short issue required either replacement of the transformer or elimination of the photosensor. Since it appeared that these two options were equal, I chose the elimination of the photosensor. A week later, the string of lights in the back suddenly went out. When I checked, the photosensor on the one transformer had melted and fallen off and the transformer was extremely hot. (The photosensor had been taped over rather than removed.) When I called Illuminations about the incident, Chris said that Illuminations could not be responsible for the lighting system since they had not installed it originally.
