+ -1 moreOur experience with Ideal Roofing was far from “ideal”. Ideal installed a new roof on our home a little over 5 years ago. Currently, the roof has several leaks and areas of fascia damage/rotting due to what appears to be poor worksmanship. After speaking with the shingle manufacturer, it was apparent that the manufactures recommendations were not followed in areas. This resulted in significant water damage. When I called with warranty questions, I was blown off for several weeks. Ideal Roofing did finally send a sales rep out. He looked at the roof for a few minutes and said it was not done right. He quoted me $4,000 to fix it. I was told that my warranty questions needed to be taken up with the owner, who will not respond to my messages. Our roof has produced significant leaks. Based on my experience, Ideal will not stand by their product once the check clears. With two newborns in the home, this is the last thing we wanted to deal with. We had hoped that Ideal would do the right thing, but that has not been the case.

+ -1 moreI requested an estimate to repair a leaking roof in the back of the house after Hurricane Harvey. They came out on 9/2/17 to inspect the roof. I told them that there was also a small leak on the front of the house. They repaired the area with 2 small dabs of roof caulk on top of 2 nails. They did not replace the affected single shingle or even state that they would come back and replace the shingle. Just 2 dabs of caulk. For this, Ideal Roofing charged me $250.00. In my opinion, I believe this to be price gauging after a storm. I have talked to several other roofing companies who have told me that they would not have charged me for this situation. One company even told me that they tarpped a house for no charge. To date, 12 days later, I have not received an estimate. Buyer beware!

+ 0 moreI initially met with David Grierson from Ideal Roofing in May. They were referred to me by a general contractor I was considering working with. David was prompt, professional, knowledgeable, and provided a quote competitive with another I had received. I finally decided to go ahead with the project in August. David honored the earlier quote, even though it was about 3 months old. The crew did the entire shingle work in one (hot) day. They protected my landscape and pool. They cleaned up incredibly well - I've found very few nails or other items since then. Another crew did the gutters about a week and a half later (there were several days of rain in between) - again, great work, no mess. Shortly afterwards I received the warranty confirmation in the mail, as David had indicated. It has now been over a month since the work was done, and there have been several heavy rains. I have not seen any signs of leaking, and no shingles have fallen. It appears that the work was done as well as I expected. I certainly recommend Ideal Roofing.
Description of Work: Tear off old shingles and re-roof entire house and garage with architectural shingles, plus new gutters and downspouts.

+ -1 moreI used Ideal Roofing year ago and they did a good job. So when I needed a new roof I called them. Mike from Ideal Roofing came over and there is where it started all the lies he said the crew was local and they were from Atlanta. They took my old roof off and stared to put on my Tiger Paw on the roof and I noticed they were some area on the roof they missed so I took a picture and tried to get a in touch with Mike. He came over to check and the roofer told him they didn?t have enough Tiger Paw so they just put the shingle on any way. I could go on about how bad a job they did but that wouldn?t solve the problem. After 2 months of calling them they had to come over and fix my roof where it leaked and put on the Tiger Paw on where I took pictures. I have been trying to get a hold off Jim the owner and they will not call me back. I guest this what happen when you try to trust someone you have done business before. Please stay away from these roofing company.

+ 0 moreServices was ok to start. Called the company and explained my needs and got a call back. Roofer came and completed work; advised the work came with a warranty. Next big rain (approx two weeks later) flashing around chimney failed and water was leaking worse than before. Called service tech back on 12/17 and he advised me to call office and schedule visit back (and suggested he could arrive no later than 12/20). Called office first thing 12/19 and as per the usual, they said the service tech would call back. Later that day, after hearing nothing, I called back and was told he would be calling me. It is now 12/26 and I haven't heard a word back. Multiple calls have not been answered. Their messaging service has no idea what their office hours are and will only say, "not sure if they are open as the phones are being forwarded. perhaps they are busy or closed." I'm still waiting and hoping they will honor or stand by their work, but not sure...... Trust the negative experiences on here. These are not just one off experiences and you do not want to be the one that goes through this. ----- 1/12/2015 I waited to submit my review upon emailing the owner. I changed my grade from an F to D in areas. First, the owner seemed to be concerned about getting it correct, or at least getting someone out. However, the reasoning behind me getting a call was not acceptable. The tech assigned to my project missed the problem. I don't even know if I needed the first repair... I was quote an additional $900 to fix the "new issue". Which was fixed for $300 by another company. Proceed with care when dealing with Ideal.

+ -1 moreI was very pleased with the entire process. I called Ideal Roofing because of a roof leak. I suspected an improperly installed boot on the guest bathroom sewer vent. I could tell from the ground that it was on top of the shingles. Cipriano Sanchez is the repair technician who inspected my whole roof. He confirmed that the shingles were in good shape and had a lot of life left. But, he found two more improperly installed plastic boots and pointed out that the plastic boots will not last as long as the shingles. We accepted his recommendation to replace all of the plastic boots with new plastic boots, which should last until we need to replace the roof. (At that time, we can install lead roof jacks which will last as long as the new roof.) The installers came the very next day and did all the work described in the repair contract. Including remove the antenna base, which I had been concerned was a potential source of a future link. When they left, all debris had been cleaned up and there was no damage of any kind. It took the two workmen just an hour or so to complete the work. I would recommend Ideal Roofing and will consider them again if I have future roofing problems or get to the point a new roof is needed.
Description of Work: Replaced all plastic boots and paint, Seal and paint water heater and furnace pipes, all roof vents, and exposed nails. Remove abandoned antenna base.

+ -1 moreI though their quote was too high. Too expensive. They were responsive to get me an actual quote just the fact that they placed themselves out it. It would have been basically stripping off the old roof and laying down a new roof and then adding an air-condition vent. As far as customer service, I would definitely give them an “A.” They were very nice on the phone.

+ -1 moreI don't think we will use them again. They were a very big disappointment. Overall, I am giving them a C. The price was high. Roof seems fine, but they littered the yard with bottles and cans the first day, and did not do a very good clean up of the usual debris when they were finished. They also left their ladders leaning on all the plants! I had to go out and move everything before they were ruined. They were also supposed to submit the warranty to GAF within, I believe 30 days. It took more like three months and multiple phone calls. There was always an excuse why it had not been done, or a promise that it would be sent it. Would never recommend them to family or friends.

+ -1 moreThey are fabulous and professional. Their quality of work was good. They really cleaned up the place. It’s important to note that you cannot see a single nail on our yard. I have diabetic and I have no feelings so I cannot step on a nail. I could end up losing my foot over infection. They were so thorough, over the years we never come across a single nail. Some people stop and ask who put our roof on because it looks so good.

+ 1 moreIdeal Roofing uses subcontractors for their jobs so the work review would be directed more to them.. The representative from Ideal Roofing came out to give me a quote and made me feel at ease with his knowledge of not only his company but his industry. He explained in detail what needed to be done to replace my windows, siding and roof. He had samples of the windows and very detailed literature on the siding and roofing materials. He gave me a price that seemed very reasonable without "special discounts" or "weekly promotions". We had another company come in to give us a bid (second bid required by the lending company) and the representative did not make me feel as confident. I felt like I was dealing with a used car salesman as he gave us a quote, then gave a "discount" because they were running a special that week, and we got an additional discount for signing up at the recent "Home and Garden show" and another discount because of military service. Even with all the discounts, Ideal was still $2,000 less. The contractors arrived at my house on Monday along with the Ideal representative, we discussed what was to be done on the job and the contractors immediately went to work. Our house was built in 1978 and with the few DIY projects we have done to the house ourselves, I was expecting some "unseen mysteries" once they started pulling off siding and removing windows. If there were any issues, I was not aware of them. They had the back siding removed within a few hours, new windows up and the house wrap completed. The remainder of the work went just as smooth. They completed all the siding removal, window install and painting by Saturday - I was pretty amazed! The crew worked together well and the quality of the work was more than expected! While there are a few minor touch ups to be done, this crew was a great group to work with!! They took pride in their work and answered my questions as the project progressed. They were very respectful of our home and the clean up after completion was fantastic - it looked better than before they arrived! Final walk around is scheduled on Monday and I expect it to go smoothly. Now, we waiting for our roof work to begin. A follow up review is to come once everything is complete but I want to add my review so if anyone was looking, they could read what a great job this company has done so far!

+ -1 moreMy experience with the Ideal Roofing Rep was horrible. I had some hail damage to my roof and siding. I checked online for companies in the Houston area that did both. Then I cross checked those companies via Angie's List and a few other places. While Ideal had mixed reviews on Angie's list other sites rated them highly so I decided to make them one of the 3 roofers that I called. I called all 3 and mentioned both the roof and the siding needing an estimate. Ideal was the first to respond. Eric sounded wonderful on the phone but it was a different story when he arrived at my house. Immediate red flag was when he told me that he didn't need to go up on my roof as he had, "looked at Satellite photos." Say what??? Jeez if that's all you have to do why come out at all? He took about 2 minutes to walk around my house and then sat in his truck and wrote out an estimate--for only the roof! Second red flag; not listening to what the customer needs. His estimate for a 3-Tab roof was not broken out, and neither was the one option provided. Eric then spent 5 minutes showing me a photo of my house with different color roofs semi-imposed on it. He was at my house for a total of about 13 minutes. Perhaps those Ideal Roofing workers that actually put on the roof would have done a good job but I'll never know as their Sales Rep turned me off from the company.

+ -1 moreMy recommendation, based on my experience: Buyer Beware - the "roof" *looks great ! .. and I would *not recommend or refer IDEAL ROOFING LLC to any family member, friend, neighbor, or acquaintance. Despite claims for high quality work, the work was performed overall, with very poor workmanship, even on critical areas of the roof. Once the job started, IDEALS unacceptable business ethics and business practices were demonstrated by the IDEAL ROOFING team from the top to near the bottom. This reviewer is very disappointed; paid good money but did not get anything close to "good" work. The product manufacturer's (GAF) "Certification" program and the post installation Inspection by GAF is *meaningless. July 12, 2014.
Description of Work: Services Performed: OVERALL Experience "F". IDEAL ROOFING LLC performed a complete "re-roof" of 1950's existing single story home of approximately 1850 sq. feet of floor space. IDEAL ROOFING was contracted to install the required GAF's "LIFETIME ROOFING SYSTEM" products, a full line of GAF roofing products used to achieve a LIFETIME ROOFING SYSTEM GUARANTEE. QUALTIY OF WORK by Ideal Roofing_LLC: Poor to Unacceptable The work performed by IDEAL ROOFING LLC included: -> removing two layers of existing shingles; the original wood shake shingles, and the second layer of 20-year old asphalt shingles. -> installing new plywood roof sheathing sheets on the entire roof as a support and nailing surface for the new GAF roofing products -> a contract to: install only high quality GAF roof products resulting in the Lifetime Roofing System as recommended by GAF. Including new plywood sheets over rafters, shingle underlayment material; new metal 'drip-edge' around the perimeter of the roof; new roof exhaust vents for kitchen and gas furnace; new plumbing vents, GAF Storm Guard leak protection in all roof valleys and at all roof penetrations, GAF roof-ridge exhaust vents to ensure needed and required ventilation, (4)-GAF attic exhaust vent roof louvers, high wind performance shingles and roof ridge-cap shingles, as well as GAF Pro-Start wind protection 'starter strips' along the perimeter eaves of the roof. The total 'roof area' was calculated at 2,760 square feet. The amount of shingle 'squares' (1 square = 100 square feet) including waste was approximately 32-squares. -> These products and others, along with the GAF Timberline shingles, constitute what GAF calls its 'Lifetime Roofing System'. -> IDEAL ROOFING LLC is rated and certified by GAF as a "Master Elite contractor". It is *important to understand how a roofing contractor becomes certified by the product manufacturer and how the Certification is maintained. More importantly, what that contractor's "Certification" actually means for the home owner. While I believe the GAF Timberline product line is of worthwhile quality, the contractor Certification program has proved to be of an entirely different nature. The assurance that GAF products will be installed properly (materials installation is *Critical per GAF) is not guaranteed, except in the most narrow and limited of terms. It appears that the post installation GAF inspection of the "new" roof is a simply a "rubber stamp" approval by GAF.

We dind't find a lot of nails on the ground. They had great clean up. We have not had any problem with the roof. The experience was really good. The price was a tiny bit higher than he wanted to pay but their reputation was so good. The value for the price was an A. They were here on time, they did the work on time, and they finished on time.

Description of Work: Replaced a sub roof on my 4 story Town House. I had fired 2 other roofers before finding Ideal Roofing. This was a tile roof replacement 50 feet up so it was a difficult job. I wouldhighly recommend them to anyone who needs an outstanding roofer.

+ -1 moreThey sprayed some commercial coating on the flat roof of my house, it failed. Even though it was under warranty they would not redo it. I had water leaks coming into my house. All they did was put in roofing caulk. They did not honor the warranty.

+ -1 moreA worker put his foot through the bedroom ceiling. A second worker, while dragging a sheet of plywood through the attic broke a plumbing connection, causing a major leak. Water damaged ceiling had to be replaced. Debris was left in attic. A poor job all around.

The pricing was comparable to everyone else, but we liked the way they treated us when we were shopping. The crew was great about cleaning up as they went and I can t remember any trash left behind. The new shingles are great. They are an upgrade from what we had and we certainly were impressed by the complete job.
