I had an existing quote to get the work done (3 trees chopped, 5 trimmed) for a high amount by a tree company located in Conroe, so I called a couple of other companies for quotes. Houston Tree Service Team was in my zip code, and when I called, they were able to send someone (Hugo) out within a few minutes. His quote was lower than the first company and I liked supporting a company in my zip code. That was Monday. We arranged for his crew to come on Wednesday. They showed up just before 8am and got to work. They were done by 2:30. While working, Hugo and crew noticed a few additional tree limbs that should be removed and proactively removed them at no additional cost. The guys were quite professional and efficient. One thing that could've been a little better: clean-up. The clean-up in my front, side, and back yards was fine. The crew used my neighbor's driveway for one of the big trees and the machine tracked some dirt on it that wasn't cleaned all the way. The neighbors didn't make it a big deal. I researched tipping for tree removal and saw that a typical tip amount is $5-$10 per person if the job is done well. I wasn't sure I'd be home when the crew finished to examine their work & tip, so instead of money, I treated them to lunch.

This is the 2nd time I have used this company. He does a good job at an Excellent price. I had another company come out and bid this job and they quoted me a full thousand dollars more than Houston Tree service. They came out early and got the job done in a timely and efficient manner.

I submitted a request online for an estimate.  I received a call back from Hugo and set an appointment for him to come out.  He never showed and did not call.  Now 9 days later I have never heard from them.

I called and spoke to a guy who took my information down, what I needed and we set up a time for him to come that day. I waited all day for him to come or call... he never showed to give me an estimate or to called to find my house.

Communication when getting the estimate and scheduling the service was very good.  We were their first job of the day and they came 45 minutes late - I had to call to see where they were.  Once they arrived they did a very good job.  Removed everything they were supposed to and cleaned up well.  No complaints on their work, I would use them again.

They were very professional. They quoted the price, scheduled a time to come-out, email the day before, and called an hour before they came out each time.

They made sure not to disturb in other yard items other than the roots. They  cleaned up and raked the area after they were finished.

They did an excellent job. I would highly recommend them and would use them again which I already did. I had them clean dead limbs and prune two large trees and trim a 15 foot high; 60 foot long privacy hedge. They also performed this service in an excellent manner on 12/02/2014. They hauled off all of the branches and rake the area.

In both cases the appointments were setup ahead the time and the price was agreed on. There were no surprises and they were punctual.

The price was actually a lot better than one of Angie's List Big Deals offering $200 off.  The stump removal price I paid was $230 and  Angie's big deal price I was quote with the $200 off was still $425 or it would have been a total cost of $625

Hugo Martinez came out to my home the Monday before to give a proper estimate of how much it would cost to remove the trees. We agreed that I would follow up on Friday and he would remove the trees on Monday. I forgot to call on Friday and instead called Monday morning, he said "Yes, he's coming out." So he did and then called a couple hours later to let me know he was almost finished with the work. He had indeed removed the trees and stumps and was just driving his machine out of my yard, as I pulled up. He was very courteous and even pointed out that there was a small pecan tree growing near the foundation of the house. He offered to remove it on his way out, which he did. All of the obvious debris was removed from the yard and the holes filled in, he warned me to watch for possible reproductions of the palms. Very nice guy, decent price I think and overall I'm happy.

Advance estimate of cost was provided and competitive with other companies. Crew showed up when scheduled and very quickly got the job done. Removal and clean-up of area was as expected for a job of this type. Very happy with the work done.

Hugo was very professional.
