Prompt service.

I posted a request for quotes to replace a noisy, slow garage opener, which I assumed meant that the chain motor needed to be replaced. Matt Davis, the owner, responded promptly with a quote as well as the suggestion that I check the chair to see if perhaps there may be a separation in the chain such that only the chain might need to be replaced. I was impressed that he suggested the possibility that only the chain might need to be replaced rather than the entire chain and motor component. I visually inspected the chain, but found no break. The technician called ahead, arrived punctually, replaced the unit promptly for exactly the quoted price.

They were able to fix the door without having to replace everything except the spring. They were able to rewire with the existing wire in place. They are local, they are prompt, and seem to know what they are doing. I have always had good business with them. The workers are professional.

great, it now opens up when you push the button instead of having to get out of the car and get close to the garage door and then push the button so it would open. better quality.

They came out the same day I called, and quickly diagnosed the problem and how to fix it. (The loose cable had been caught under the garage door frame.) They replaced the one spring, but were able to re-string the cable and rollers, so it didn't cost me a lot of money. The job was also completed quickly.

Service man was prompt and courteous. He got it working, lubricated all moving parts, explained what probably happened and said "Let me show you how/what to lubricate so you can save money" (not need another service call). Nice! He said whoever installed the door didn't give it quite enough clearance. Top of door actually hits the track every time door goes up or down. So because everything was in dire need of lubrication, it finally got to the point that it couldn't get past that sticking point. Also, trying the automatic opener a bunch of times causes the capacitor to overheat. Have to let it cool off several hours before it will work. Which it wasn't going to anyway until the sticking problem was fixed, but it was nice of him to explain the capacitor issue.

Our daughter drove our truck through the garage door at 6AM shattering it in to pieces. We called and talked to Steve at 8AM and by lunch time his technician was at our house and replaced our garage door. By the afternoon there was no sign of the morning catastrophe which for us was paramount since our home is currently on the market. Thank you Steve for being so very helpful and to your team for doing such a great job!! We are grateful!

 
 I called tor repair service at 5pm after three rollers slipped the track.  The technician was finishing up a repair nearby, and was able to be at my house at 7pm.  He conducted all repairs and lubrication of both doors and was finished in 40 minutes.
Excellent prompt service, and I would recommend this company, and I would recommend them without hesitation.

There was a delay due to the supplier not having the doors in stock. But, within 2 weeks the work was complete. Once the doors came in, the work was completed in just one day.

I initially called the service number for Houston Overhead Doors on 11/12/2014 and spoke with the dispatcher who advised that he could send a technician the following day to inspect the unit and determine the problem.  I inquired if the technician would have a replacement door opener on the truck in case the broken unit was not repairable.  After a few questions about the garage door type and current sized motor ... the dispatcher recommended an appropriate replacement motor and quoted the cost the new hardware and installation.  I was agreeable with the recommendation and asked that the technician bring it out in case the old unit was not repairable.
Manuel called me early the next morning with an estimate of what time he would be at my house ... and arrived on time.  He inspected the existing unit and showed me where it had worn.  I asked him to go ahead and replace the old unit with the unit he brought.  The replacement took a little over an hour and was professionally done.
We tested the new unit and made sure everything was working properly.  Manuel also walked me through the features of the new unit and its operation.  He cleaned the work area and took away the old unit to be recycled.  The cost of the work was exactly what was quoted.  I was pleased with all aspects of Houston Overhead Doors service.

First of all: Allthough I do not expect having any trouble with our garage door in the next time, I would always use this company again and also highly recommend it to my friends. Our garage door broke on Sunday (wouldn't open any more) so on Monday afternoon after some Angies list research, I called Overhead Garage doors. On Tuesday at noon I had Travis come out here. Since he was already here, he checked both garage doors and showed and explaied everything to me, that he would suggest to be done. He made me a very fair offer and I was glad that he had checked everything, so everyone can pass the garage door safely in the future. He needed to get a special part for the motor, so he came back on Wednesday and did the job, explained me how to maintain the doors, showed me what he had done to fix everything, opened and closed the doors from hand and also with the motor. What I really liked: When I called the company I was not referred to a voice mail or office lady, so I could adress my problem directly to an expert who understood what I was talking about and scheduled an appointment. Travis was always right on time. The communication was perfect. He explained everything to me and showed me what he was doing. There was no mess or dirt left after he had finished. As a woman I also want to mention, that I didn't feel uncomfortable, having Travis around here. Great job, thank you!!!

The service was very good. They provided quality work and were prompt and affordable.

They were topnotch. They came out and looked at what was gonna be involved in the installation and they also checked my measurements. When they saw our garage door opener, they said that it was fine. It’s 12 years old. They told me I don’t need to replace it. That’s the sort of thing I liked. It was a terrific door. The salesman was unbelievable, he was incredibly knowledgeable.

I called and talked to Matt on the phone and let him know I had a damaged garage door, very friendly and said he would send out someone the next day to look and see if the old door could be used or if I needed a new one.  The next day the technician showed up on time and looked over everything and showed me why I should not use the old door as it was structurally bent.  That was fine as I kind of guessed that would be the case.  Matt called me back about 2 hours later with a quote to replace the door, I had talked to Home Depot about doing the same thing and their base quote was about 30% higher than Houston Overhead so I agreed to do the work.  
They were back in 2 days with a new door and had it installed and looking great, plus they really focused on the small stuff like the bottom padding of the door so it has a good seal when closed to keep out bugs and a few things like that.
Overall very happy with the work and felt the price was even better.  I would use again for sure.

The day before door was to be installed a truck arrived with the door panels.  The morning of the installation the old single doors were removed so when the Overhead installer arrived all was ready, and he quickly and efficiently installed the new double door.  It looks great~~a big difference when you have a garage door that is insulated and smooth inside.  The door came painted white, and we painted it brown to match our home.  The installer explained everything about the new door, showed us how well it worked and we are happy with it.  This is a company that takes good care of it's customers.
