"Mr. [Member Name Removed], Thank you for the opportunity to provide you with a custom design and proposal. Please let us know if there is anything else that you need."
"Mrs. [Member Name Removed], We are sincerely sorry that your experience with our company has been unfavorable. We partnered with Angie’s List to be a part of their Big Deal program and as a result we were inundated with project design requests and proposal requests. All of this combined with our peak pool season and some staffing personal issues has created a recipe for disaster. You may not want it at this point, but you will be getting your design and proposal soon. We appreciate your feedback and assure you that this is not how we do business."
"[Member Name Removed] It was a pleasure meeting you. Thank you for showing me around your beautiful home and farm. Thank you for allowing us to provide you with a custom design and proposal. I hope all is well with you and your family. Take care"
"Mrs. [Member name], We thank you for the opportunity to work on your project. We are sorry that things did not work out. We completed 4 different proposals for you during our interactions. Unfortunately, different materials have different prices. Everytime that you changed materials it had a direct impact on your remodel proposal. We wish you the best of luck with your project."
Matt called 2 days after I order the assessment and scheduled a time to come out and measure the area to be designed. He came out on time with an assistant as scheduled. They got measurements, took a copy of my survey, talked briefly about what my vision was and how the fishing was in the area. We shock hands and they told me the designer was a little busy and they would be sending me the plans in about 5 to 10 days.
That was 4 months ago. Since then I've called about 10 time talked to numerous people working at the company. All of them telling me the same thing. "Sorry about that - We've talked to Matt and he said you will have your design in just a few days". I've even asked for a new rep to come out and finish the job and well nothing has ever happened. I'm at a point where now I just trying to get a refund since the job was never completed. Wish me luck :(

"Mrs. [Member Name Removed], Thank you for the opportunity to bid on your project. We are very sorry that you did not got your proposal. We sent it to you 3 times and finally sent it directly to Angie's List so they could try to get it to you. We used the email that you gave us and that you emailed us from. We even replied to one of your emails and attached the proposal. After all of this and your response you still contacted us wanting to do business and you denied submitting a response about our company. You did have several different contractors out the day that we met with you. Maybe you were talking about another contractor? Either way, we apologize for your expirence and we wish you the best with you multiple projects."
The evaluation really just turned out to be a bid for work in disguise. I sort of expected this but was kinda disappointed when David didn't even have a tape measure handy to take accurate measurements. The proposed 3D drawings came about a week later via email and the looked pretty good, a little out of proportion but not too bad. There were a couple of improvements that we had discussed that were left off the drawings but after emailing David the were fixed and he emailed me an up dated set.
A few days later I had a bid, it seemed a bit steep to me but I haven't gotten any other bids on the work so I really can't say for sure.
Over all I really feel that what I got for the $49 evaluation was not really worth it as many of my neighbors have gotten the same service for free as it was included as a bid for work. But in the end I was able to show my wife how I was thinking of changing our back patio up as she is a visual type person.
"[Member name removed] Thank you for the opportunity to provide you with a conceptual design for your future project. Yes we did provide you with a proposal for the design, per your request. We do not send our representatives out with tape measures because our designs are based off of your survey and we get all of our measurements off of the survey. We are sorry that you felt our price was too high, but we are glad that you are going to get a few more proposals. We always suggest that our customers get muliple bids from reputable builders. We will be here if you ever do decide to move forward with your project. We wish you the best."
Houston Cool Pools called to setup the appointment. During the visit to my property we discussed on our future plans for the backyard and he took the measures needed to build the 3D model (He requested a copy of the property survey).
After few days, he called back and told us our 3D project was ready. We went to Cool Pools office and the project was presented to us. Since the design included al the best features available, the price for the project was really high. However, they told us we could change some of the features to reduce the price.
Construction was one of the finest orchestrations of trades and specialty crafts I have ever seen. All were professional, high-quality contractors using only the best materials. When the excavator loaded up his tractor to leave, the steel men pulled in the drive to start placing steel.
Gunite was excellent. My wife called them the "Gunite Michelangelos".
Plumbing, coping, and deck were all excellent. High quality materials, 2" pipe everywhere, and individual lines to each outlet instead of ganged together.
We chose Pebble-Sheen interior finish and love it. The pebble-tec crew were excellent.
Equipment package is all Pentair; highest quality and great warranty.
Overall, this was an absolutely wonderful experience. Thank you Mike, Matt, and John for a job so well done. You finished on time as promised in spite of local shortage of our chosen coping stone and lots of rain in May.
These folks were genuinely interested in pleasing us, and stayed with us from design to startup to make sure we were happy.
We recommended them to our good friends, and they, too, are happy with their Houston Cool Pool.
Great Job!
"Sorry about the sand! Sometimes the wind is not our friend. :) Take care"
Poor management - did not meet the guarantees of the contract - no managerial oversight, despite contractual guarantees.
Poor subcontractor management. Poor supervision.
Poor customer communication.
Poor integration with contractors.
Landscaping subcontractor rates F -. See review of J's Landscaping.
Great job on the pool at least as far as I can tell so far.
