Overall not very impressed with the service. Punctual yes, arrived when they said they would. Our is the lack of quality and professionalism. They are not the cheapest installers and that being said we were willing to pay extra to gain quality. Such was not the case. During the installation, i pointed out that there was excess caulking which made the glass look like it was broken on two of the 4 windows they installed. "ok" was what I got, it wasn't until they were packed up that I realized they were going to do nothing about it. Took my husband to go out and stop them in the driveway to actually come clean up the excess caulking. They moved furniture to gain access to the windows and didn't return it to it's place. They left their debris in one location of the house and in the other asked if they could use my vacuum cleaner to clean up their construction mess. The crew did not take their time in cutting the previous caulk line to remove the window, pulled paint away from the frame and now I have to hire someone to caulk the gap and repaint at my cost because they said "Oh, we don't cover that". Truly would not have been an issue had they taken their time to cut the caulk line nor was this ever presented as potential issue when we scheduled the work. Also got some nice scratches and gouges in our metal frame. Called the company to point out these issues and got "I'm sorry" but no offer to remedy the cost and that inconvenience to repair the work they caused by simply not being attentive. The service was good. I am happy with my new glass. The install was quick and easy. My only complaint is the price I was quoted over the phone initially was $100 less than the actual cost. I wish I had been quoted the amount of the glass plus installation over the phone the first time I called.

They were terrific. Performed the work quickly, professionally and promptly and beautifully! The workers were so nice and the front desk as well.
I had forgotten to write this before but as I am off there today to have glass installed in two kitchen cabinet doors, I remembered to write it up.

The granite counter top installer unexpectedly needed to remove 3 bathroom wall mirrors located in 2 bathroom. They removed them so they could remove the existing bathroom vanities. They were able to remove them without any problems and set them aside. They explained that I would need to hire someone to reinstall them. I called a company that I had used three times before immediately and they explained they could be out the next day to reinstall the mirrors. I explained the size of one of the mirrors to be 10' in length by 3 1/2' in width. He said that was okay. He back at the end of the day and said he would not be able to come the next day and would have to reschedule to the day after. I agreed and waited while I had three bathroom mirrors leaning against beds and hoping that there would be no accidents in the meantime. Long story short, the company that I had used on 3 prior occassions arrived looked at the big mirror and said it was too big for them to reinstall and left. Now I have lost 2 days on the installation so I went to Angie's list and read a lot of reviews, made a lot of phone calls and finally found Hou-Tex. He said they were working in the area and would have some one come out to do a site review that same day and then do the install the next morning. They did exactly as they said they would. Each of the installer, Joe and Paul (I believe the names correct) introduced themselves and got right to work. They were both thoughtful, professional and courteous. They installed the big mirror first and then the two smaller ones in the other bathroom. While they were hanging the other two I got my windex cleaner out and began cleaning the big mirror. While cleaning it Joe walked in with paper towels and mirror cleaner. We both laughed and he said that it is part of their service to clean the mirrors. They were professional, thoughtful, and helped me out of a bad situation by getting someone out so quickly. They are happy upbeat folks who do good work for a fair price. I will hire them again!d

very neat did not leave trash, cleaned up adhesive after mirrors were installed. Very professional , came in did the work and left, did not waste time standing around talking.

We found that the window had condensation between the two panes and that the "mutton bars" had fallen one night and the next day I began the phone calls. No one wanted to even talk to me other than to tell me that it was a difficult job and would be expensive. The builder who built our home gave us to companies to call - one that did their warranty work (which our windows were past the five year warranty) and HouTex Glass. The company that does their warranty work didn't want to talk to me at all, but HouTex was considerate and professional - and knew exactly what I was talking about when I started describing the pieces of plastic between the panes. This is when I learned the term "mutton bars". She set up a measuring appointment to make sure it was exactly the right measurement - and I am glad they did as the window was not exactly five feet by five feet (sixty inches by sixty inches). The two service individuals got the measurements exactly right. The company then had to order the glass as it is a special tint, build the new window and then called and made the appointment to install it. They were there when they said they would be there, called and let us know they were on their way and were extremely effective, efficient, professional and cleaned up immactuately afterwards. We know have a brand new beautiful window that is extremely striking in it's appearance!

The came when the said, did the work. It look fine. (There is a minuscule chip near one corner). Overall the mirror is just what I wanted.

This company was recommended to me by the original window manufacturer (Champion, they only do warranty work). Prompt response for estimate and measurement. Installation was delayed 2 days due to materials (they had to order the glass). The installation was quick, and they paid attention to cleaning up the area.
