HILLVIEW LANDSCAPING INC

I got their flyer in the mail. It was for $17 for any lawn the first time. That's really cheap!! Normally, I pay anwhere from $30 to $45. When I first called them, they were very friendly and said that subsequent yard work would be $27. This is still very cheap. They would also bill me, so I don't have to be here to pay them. After they came and left and I had called the office to see what the confusion was, but didn't get an answer, I called the office back later and told the receptionist about the crew saying that they don't bag. She was surprised. I told her that she should know that and she agreed. I'm not sure why they left without completing the job. It was either a confusion or they decided that they didn't want to go to the trouble of bagging by using their blowers. Hopefully, they don't charge me anything for this. They were probably here for only 5 minutes at most. Now that I see they have an F on Angies List, I'm glad that they didn't finish their work and just left. I wish that I had seen their rating before I called them in the first place.

Mowing services were adequate (not the best lawn care company I've ever used). Calls to the owner go to an answering service and are rarely returned, although he regularly advertises additional services. Twice I have had services added to my bill which (a) were not requested by me, and (b) were not performed. The first time (over $50 for fertilizer) was removed from my bill after a few phone calls. The second time was after Hurricane Ike, when Hillview added $87 to my bill for unrequested and unnecessary services that were also not performed-the item was listed as a labor charge for "Hurricane Ike clean up." Two calls to the owner regarding this charge were not returned. I sent him a letter to cancel service and still have not heard back, although I did receive a promotional mailing this week advertising lawn care services at $18/lawn ($12 less than I paid before) and a different telephone number for the same company.
