Since my house got flooded, therefore, I needed new carpet to be installed. The installation was done poorly. Very slow workers that took 2 days to finish as they ran short on the carpet. Lots of pieces were put together to do the rooms. I was so shocked to see this because I paid for full yards. I was ignored every time I called and I got no response from the staff people in their office. The office people are very rude and do not help. I have gotten no resolution about why there are lots of loose ends and why lots of small pieces were installed. I do not recommend this company for none of their services.
This is a short list of the things that went wrong.
From the beginning this house was intended for a flip. The quality had to be better than the work for a rental, with that being said the feedback from the realtors that showed the house ranged from ?poor? to ?below standard?
Problems started from the beginning. The biggest problem was the texture. The foundation had moved and the sheet rock had cracked or broke. The other walls were in poor shape from 30 years of use. Instead of texturing the entire house as was agreed, they spot textured or used a spray can of texture. On some walls in a matter of 1 square foot I had 3 different types of texture. It would go from orange peel to sand to totally smooth. I brought this to the attention of GCF numerous times and I was told when it is painted you won?t even notice. I told him if it looks like **** you are doing it over. It looked SO bad. They added some texture and repainted the house. Still, the reviews speak for themselves, not an acceptable job even for a rental. Then they charged me for additional paint, texture and time!
I had to pay the painters directly because I was told they need to be paid by Friday and GCF does not have the money to pay them. I paid them and now I am told I will not receive a credit for that payment off my bill.
Painters showed up on a Saturday, I got a call from GCF saying ?if you want them to paint today you are going to have to go to Sherwin Williams to get 8 gallons of paint to paint the garage. I was told I would be reimbursed for the paint. I got the paint. They put 8 gallons of paint on and within a day much of the ceiling was peeling. Unfortunately it was below the bathrooms and anyone looking at it would think there was a leak. I spent 2 nights patching and repainting the ceiling. Even with 2 coats of Kills there were still a couple stains. (Pictures)
I was never reimbursed for the paint and my labor and it was not taken off my bill.
The kitchen backsplash was done in a black hexagon tile with a gloss finish that were about ¾ inch wide. They ran out and used a black tile in matte finish that was about an inch wide (Pictures).
They tiled the kitchen, except where the stove sits. I had to pay another tile layer to finish the job.
They claim I owe them for the extra charge for under mount sink. It was under mount from the first discussion,
GCF even provided them for me. That kind of business is just sneaky.
Instead of taking off the thermostat of painting around it they pained right over it. A high end Hunter thermostat ruined. (Pictures)

This was one of the worst jobs I have ever seen. The job was to be done by February 25, 2014, and on the invoice it said March 5, 2014. On about April 6, I told them to get out.
This is a short list of the things that went wrong.
Over a period of about 2 months approximately 25 appointments were missed, mostly no shows, even though I had driven from Pearland to Texas City to meet them on nearly all the occasions (about 100 miles round trip).
They broke 6 water lines when they tore out the counters without disconnecting the supply lines. I had to repair them myself.
They used trash bags (mine) for water proofing for the showers. (Pictures)
They left saw marks in the granite counter in the bathroom.
They broke a sink.
The Kitchen granite is broken (pictures).
The Kitchen counter is not even close to being level (pictures).
The back splash is perpendicular to the unlevel counter and it makes my cabinets look crooked (pictures).
My tile grout lines are crooked and spacing is inconsistent, from 1/8 inch to nearly ½ inch (pictures).
Many spacers are left in the grout (pictures).
They ran out of tile so they cut scraps and pieced them together in order to ?finish?.
The installers stole about $1000 worth of tools, and even came back to the job with my stolen tape measure on his belt (seriously?).
Shampoo boxes were not put in the shower walls as they were agreed to.
Granite window sills were not done because the ?claimed? the granite that they left next to the garage over the weekend was stolen. (Pictures)
My electric cooktop was left in the back yard for 3 days in the rain. Still works, but no excuse for leaving a $500 cooktop out in the rain.
Transition pieces not glued down (Pictures).
Shower tile not level, grout lines do not match at the corners (Pictures).
Floors were not leveled before putting in the laminate (Pictures)
The first set of laminate was so bad I made them tear it all up and do it again. I was told they used the wrong glue?..
Entry laminate was too tall, the front door would not open. I had to cut it down and install a seal at my expense and time.
Shower tiles are not level and form a V in the back starting at about 1.25? at the bottom and spreading to about 2.5? at the top.
When I asked to have these things fixed I was called a ?weasel? by the owner. Look at the pictures and let me know if you think this job is done.

Do use The Carpet Store for carpet, tile, granite, and painting.
Don't expect the granite folks to take off bathroom countertops without damaging your wallpaper. We had to retexture and paint our master bathroom, as a result.
DO NOT become the middle-man. Be very clear of roles. Expecially, if this is your first remodel.
Uh,oh. I went to give them carpet business and THEY FIRED GEORGE because he didn't charge me enough. I won't be doing business with them again.
"George Jennings was not fired... he was moved to outside sales. Is you wish to confirm this please call him # 281-793-1787"
