I experienced problems with the remote control for one of my Hampton Bay fans. Only one of the buttons wouldn't work, but it was out of warranty. Hampton Bay referred mo to Gulf Coast Fans for a replacement. WhenI spoke with them they quoted me a price of $49.95 (39.95 for the part and 10 for shipping). That seemed awfully expensive for a fan that I only paid $160 for 9 years ago, so I deferrred the purchase.
A short internet search found a new replacement available for $5.75 plus shipping for a total of $10.24. I'd recommend you look elsewhere.
