Goodman Manufacturing Co L P

Purchased 2 1/2 ton electric unit package for my home. Installer who purchased product said it was a good product. Installer has since died. Contacted Goodman and they refused to honor the warranty that they say on their website is 10 years. and part is lifetime. When I contracted Goodman, they said I only had a 5 year warranty. but an exterior heating/air package should last longer than 5 years. And they should back their warranty. I have not had heat since November 20th and I do not have the money at this time to repair the unit. I thought they would have someone local who could have come out and reported back to them about the unit.

In 2006 my central a.c. was hit by lightening. Since I was new to this home, I used an HVAC company that had sent me a mailer. The company installed a GOODMAN UNIT with a five year warranty. I was told it was a very good unit and they had installed many in my area that month. Last year I began to notice that it was not cooling that well. I had it pre-seasoned serviced in April of this year. At the time the serviceman told me it was leaking freon and that he was putting some caps in place. To call them back if this was not working. I did not run it much this summer until the beginning of August. I could not get the temperature below 78 degrees! I called the same company back and this time a different employee came. HE TOLD ME THAT IT WAS LEAKING OIL ALL OVER THE UNIT! Also that this HVAC company had to go to court over lawsuits on the GOODMAN UNITS that had been installed by the previous owner of this HVAC company! The serviceman suggested that I do not fix this unit and would be better off replacing it WITH ANOTHER MANUFACTURER'S PRODUCT. I contacted Goodman and asked them to replace the whole unit and was referred to a company associated with them thru warranty. The company whose name Goodman provided, initally told me it was nothing but a little loose cap. Then I suggested that he take time to look for the oil leakage and then he arrived at another conclusion! It is incredible that after a few calls, he said that it was not installed properly in 2006! So of course GOODMAN and the associates involved said it is all about a very expensive work of labor by the 2nd HVAC company! I do not believe this scenario for one second! It is all about making money at a time when people are not spending! I can do no more than try to spread the word about the GOODMAN CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING PRODUCT. I would love to band together with the other disappointed customer's, who are in the same boat this year. My information is that there are quite a few people who are frustrated and angry with GOODMAN MANUFACTURING.
