My trees are beautiful! I have used this company for more than 20 years. They are wonderful! Shaping trees-excellent. Clean up-excellent. Punctual. Fair prices. Careful-no breakage of garden statuary. I highly recommend them.

I called Gilbert's Tree Service for a quote on removing a large tree from my property. The receptionist was very friendly, and took my information. I received a call back within a few hours, and they stopped by to give me a free quote. I approved the quote and they quickly scheduled me. They kept in touch by phone to confirm the appointment and called when they were on their way. The tree was located in an area surrounded by my garage, and the neighbor's structures, so it was not an easy job. Pedro and his crew did a great job and removed the tree professionally with no damage to anything, and cleaned up all of the debris. I would definitely use them again in the future.

Pete and his crew have been doing work for me for around 20 years.  I recently moved and sadly I will NEVER LET HIM TOUCH MY YARD AGAIN.  I had recently gotten a divorce and had brought a house in Oak Forest.  The backyard was not level, pot holes and drainage issues.  The house came with a sprinkler system and drains but the yard was holding water when it rain and when it didn't the sprinkler system didn't work.  We focus on the back half where I originally saw the standing water.  I told Pete I didn't have a lot of money to spare but I have dogs and was having a doggie door put in and didn't want mud in the house.  I also asked him to trim the trees.  He gave me a price and I went with it.  It took them several trips out to do what he said he would do.  And his nephew came and worked on the sprinkle system which was not working.  It rained in-between all of this and I noticed I had at least two inches of water standing on the front half of my backyard, not where the drains were or where we had focused.  I called him to let him know.  He came out I pointed out the oak tree in the front yard still had lots of dead wood on it.  As we talked about the backyard I said "We both focused on the back instead of the whole yard.  I needed your input about everything that needed to be done."  To be fair I did point out the pot holes in the front part but told him to just filled them but soon so that the grass would be strong by the time I moved in.  I did not know and was trusting his judgement to say it very unleveled and needs to be raised.  He did say he would fit it and make it right and would handle the tree.  He never did.  The sprinkler stopped working so I called him and told him the grass was going to die because the sprinkler wasn't working.  If the grass died then when it rains mud.  Pete never returned my calls nor did he handle the pot holes or the oak tree.  I called several times and no response.  Finally what I didn't want to happen happened my dogs somehow got the cover on the couch halfway off and got mud on all my new furniture.  Pete today responded to a text I wrote about my upset with his lack of work.  He blames me for focusing on the back of the yard and believes I was happy because I paid him.  I paid him because my history with him was that if there was a problem he would fix it and make it right.  He is a small business owner and it had been several weeks so I thought he could use the cash and we could resolve any problem.  BOY WAS I EVER WRONG.  And as a side note the back area still holds some water just not as much as it did before.  This is very hard for me to write this review since Pete has always been so good to me and my family with his work and price.  NO MORE!!!  Now he wants to raise his voice at me and tell me he did his job when in fact he didn't.  Even if you don't consider the front half of the yard he NEVER CAME BACK AND FILLED THE HOLES IN NOR REMOVE ALL THE DEAD WOOD FROM THE OAK TREE, HE SIMPLY DIDN'T DO WANT HE SAID WHICH WAS HE WOULD MAKE IT RIGHT.

Came out and gave an estimate the same day we called. Scheduled services for later in the week. They did a fantastic job!

Pedro came around to do an estimate the same day I called (Sunday) and provided me with a very reasonable quote. He even guided me about how the trees should be cut. He was extremely polite a a punctual. On Tuesday his team came on the agreed time and did an AMAZING job and cleaned up all the debris. I would defiantly use this company again!

They did a great job and I would love to have them back. Their pricing was reasonable for the work they did. 2-3 technicians came out for the job. They were very knowledgeable and careful to not botch the trees they were cutting. They are a family owned business. I had no problem scheduling the service.

Very well. Gilbert came the day I called, and brought his men over the next day. The work went quickly, and all for a very good price.

We agreed that Pedro and his team would come on Thursday around 12:00 PM. At 3:00 PM he called that he is coming in an hour. I told him that he is late by almost 3 hours and I do not want him to do a hasty job. We agreed that he comes on Friday 8:00 AM instead, which he and his crew did punctually.
We did some research on how to cut a limb properly. When I asked Pedro how he is going to cut the limb, his description of how he is going to do it is along the lines that we have found.
After his crew was done cutting the limbs and pruning the oak tree, my neighbor suggested to Pedro: why don't you prune the crape myrtle for them (i.e. the reviewers), which he did this at no charge. His crew cleaned up all the cuttings and the leaves. I will certainly use his services again in the future.

The work was done  carefully and as requested, and, to some extent, exceeded our basic needs.  The clean-up was exceptional.   Well done!

Great.  Pedro is very professional and pleasant.  He did what he said he was going to do at a fair price.  I noticed when they were packing up to leave that I really needed one of the trees to be thinned out even more - he happily did it to my satisfaction.

I know I have reviewed Pedro before, but he is excellent.  His prices are great and I am using him next week to repair a fence that the tree ruined that had to be cut down because it was going to ruin the pool next door.  He is prompt, courteous and professional and very trustworthy.  I found him on Angie's List, and I'm sure glad he was there.  I wish I could give him an A+.

My dogs have been very sick with whip worms.  I needed to remove all the old grass and bring in new grass and dirt. I researched that the only way to get rid of whip worms is to remove 6 inches of dirt and burn the ground.  So that's what Pedro did! They dug out 6 inches of dirt then brought in gas torches and torched the ground, rocks and flower beds.  It was amazing! Then they built beautiful rock walls for me to make a rose garden.  They created a run path for the dogs b/c my dogs like to run along the fence and chase the neighbors dog. So they built a special bed for the dogs made with cedar chips b/c thats good for the dogs paws. Then we made a little area of rainbow rock near a drain so the dogs can potty there and the rock can be rinsed and washed with clorox in the future and not damage the grass.  The rainbow rock looks really nice and the yard is beautiful, parasite free, dog friendly and ready for roses! The workers were so nice to me and my dogs. They never left a mess and were just nice to have around. And they had Nina's Sprinkler Services do my sprinkler and Jorge Cordova there is the smartest sprinkler guy I have ever met. He just graduated & got his license for sprinklers. It's Pedro's nephew and he is such a nice young man. He is reasonable and SMART! They have done the best work in my yard that I have ever had done and I have had a lot of work done! I have had paver stones put in and that company sucked!  They are by far the best and went above and beyond the call of duty to do a good job.  One more thing ... they made the rainbow rock where the dogs use the bathroom to look like a shark fin b/c I like sharks!  How cool is that?!?

This was the first lawn service I used after moving into the new house.  I wasn't able to be at home when they first did their service.  However, I didn't need to be.  This group did a wonderful job front and back lawn, with a yard that had been neglected for weeks.  I've continued to use them on a bi-weekly basis, and they do a consistently great job.  I have asked them to do additional tasks and they have no problem with those.
