Fast forward 5 weeks, we are FINALLY getting those running boards installed locally (in Corpus Christi). While the truck is up on the rack (for installing the running boards), the proprietor of the business points out that on the side rail of the flat bed there are TWO 4 inch cuts on the bottom of the rail. These were not noticeable until up in the air due to the side rails. These cuts were there because when they installed the tool box on the driver side, it was apparently installed in the WRONG place and they just took a cutting torch and cut the box off and then welded it back, leaving TWO cuts/gaps in the bottom of the side railing. Yes, TWO places the side rail of the bed has now been compromised! This was again, just the beginning! On the trailer hitch assembly, which on most flat beds is part of the bed itself, it had been cut off of another bed and they tack welded it to the bed. When you weld tempered steel, you weaken it. This has now compromised the trailer hitch assembly.
This truck was purchased to haul animals, SHOW ANIMALS, worth thousands of dollars up and down the road. On any given trip we will have over 10,000 lbs. in the trailer of JUST ANIMALS! We cannot safely haul ANYTHING with this truck as it sits!
This company has been in business for over 100 years and puts out hundreds of trucks a month. If they are putting out half of those in the shape ours is in, I shudder to think of the DANGER that they are inflicting on the general public!.
I tried attaching pictures, which I will be GLAD to share with ANYONE who would like to see them, but I could not figure out HOW to attach them. I personally will NEVER do any kind of business with them again and I encourage everyone to find somewhere else to get your truck needs met
