We bought two Lane recliners and they were delivered as promised. Less than a week later I had a problem with one of them so I called customer service. The gentleman that helped me listened to my complaint and then when I was through he asked if I would be at home later that day. I was going to be so he set up a delivery of a new chair. A few hours later a truck arrived with a new chair and took the "old" new chair away. Total time for the tranaction was less than 10 minutes. I was so impressed with the service that I called the store and wanted to talk to Mattress Mac. I was transferred through to him and spoke with him about his good old fashioned customer service. You can't get better service than that.

I went to Gallery Furniture for the first time today with the intention of looking for an inexpensive ($200 or less) night stand. I ended up finding a great deal on a night stand and bed frame thanks to Bee. When I told him my budget for the night stand he took me to their clearance items in the warehouse and showed me three night stands that fit my budget and style. When I was looking at one night stand I saw a bed frame that I really liked and was on sale for $400. Bee was not pushy at all, which I appreciated.
My only complaint is minor. I selected the 3-7 delivery window and was told they would call 30 minutes before arrival. They did not call and delivered the furniture at 2:00. If I had not been home this would have been a problem, but since I was home it doesn't really matter.
The men who delivered my furniture were nice and professional. They both introduced themselves to me and were careful carrying the items up the stairs. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I got to keep the furniture pads and shrink wrap, since I am moving in less than a month.

Enrique the salesman was kind and enjoyable, but I made his sale easy by deciding within less than 20 minutes of being in the store without him accompanying my wife and I. The delivery was on time and the set-up was done fast and in good condition. The bed we wanted was on sale and I asked for an additional discount if I paid cash. Answer was no and I was offered 15 months free financing. I elected for the financing since it was free and there was no additional discount for cash. My credit was denied in less than 15 minutes. I have just moved to Houston and my credit rating is 730... Being denied was somewhat of an insult, but we really liked the bed, and I was already ready to pay cash or use my personal credit. Additionally, when checking out, the lady which took care of my check out was totally rude, extremely impersonal, and honestely had a bad attitude. Certainly not a customer oriented service attendant. I have purchased from Gallery in the past, I remember the days when Jim McIngvale walked the floors of the old warehouse and shook hands with all customers/purchasers. Those days are gone; maybe never existed at the Post Oak store. I have no need to purchase from Gallery in the future...

I took photos before applying the putty. I decided I'd better try to find out about the insect so I searched wood burrowing insect online and presto there was my bug, a carpenter bee. The species has one life-cycle and one set of progeny per year that emerge late summer. They are territorial and often return to their nest to re-infest year after year. The nests can have multiple galleries. Insect sprays don't work on these bees and neither does treated wood as the bees don't eat the wood, they only burrow and hibernate in the wood. Experts online recommend commercial grade dusts, year round, or better yet bagging the wood for a year, because the dusts last about 3-4 months which doesn't cover the life-cycle of the bees. Most experts online do not recommend spot fixes as often there are more nests inside which you can't see. Well I thought, the set must go back, but I didn't realize the Herculean task I was about to undertake. Gallery Furniture has never heard of these bees. They offered to replace the set and a crew came out one night and only replaced the table. Surprisingly this crew had heard about these bees. A small piece of wood fell off of the new table the following day. Then 9 days later, they sent a "wood expert" named Alex to my home to inspect the set, but his recommendations lead me to believe he doesn't know much about wood bees. I am still dealing with customer service. Update: The set sold to me was, and possibly still is infested with bees. Given that the set was sold to me in this condition, I feel it is Gallery Furniture's responsibility to return the set. I did initially speak with Dan in customer service and he told me he would replace the set, and then if I had any more bees/problems that they [Gallery Furniture] would be willing to return the set. The crew that came out and replaced only the table came out that night at about 10pm, after Gallery Furniture had closed. I called the next morning to express my concerns regarding the set as well as the fact that a piece had fallen off of the new table. The next day I could not reach Dan, but talked with Melinda who said that Dan should not have approved the switch without the wood expert first looking at the furniture. I waited 9 days for the wood expert and as I have stated below, I do not believe that this problem is as simple as replacing a chair or chair back. Furthermore, Laura makes it sound as though Alex (the wood expert) could not find the hole when he not only saw the hole, but dug out the filler with his car keys. I did note on Gallery Furniture's website that there is an option to purchase a three year extended warranty which if it had been offered to me, I would have purchased because the set has leather on the seats and I have 2 children and a cat. I do wonder if it was not offered to me because this set has had other complaints, but this I will never know.

"The facts of this service issue are: Customer purchased table in September 2009. August 4, 2010 called and spoke with Dan Molina in our service department. He wrote an exchange ticket for the table-apparently per the conversion, he thought it was the table. Table was taken to customer and she accepted the table. If this was not the problem she could have called and had the new table returned to the warehouse. The next day she called to state it was a chair not the table which she believed had the bees come out. Also did not like new table that she had them exchange. Sent Alex on August 14th to her home to fix a piece on the table and look at finish and the chair. The hole was not there as she had put some wood filler in it. Alex offered to reglue the block on the table apron that came off and also to order a new back completed for the chair. Customer refused his repair and stated she just wanted to come puck out a new set. The facts are: We have not had nay other calls on any bees coming out of the furniture she has and we have sold hundreds of these sets over the past years. We have offered to order a new back to the chair (or we can exchange the chair) and the customer refuses that service. We will not refund her money or let her get a new dinette after 9 months but we will service her merchandise. She did not buy our extended warranty which covers in-home calls and she should have to bring the chair to our warehouse. We went out this time as a courtesy and she did not even allow service. They had a great selection. I bought a good quality bedroom set from them, and they delivered it later that night which is one of the things this store is known for. The set was great, they delivered it when they said they would and installed it. Later, we noticed a scratch on one piece. They sent out a repair person and he fixed the scratch at no charge to us.

THE BEST PLACE I'VE EVER BEEN AND I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS PLACE. AS A STRANGER TO HOUSTON I HAD TO FILL MY NEW HOUSE WITH FURNITURE AND GALLERY FURNITURE WAS RECOMMENDED. MY WIFE AND CHILDREN SPENT $10,000 IN ONE DAY AND HAD THE FURNITURE DELIVERED LATER THAT EVENING. THE SECOND TIME WE SPENT ABOUT $8,000 AT 7PM AND THE DELIVERY VAN TURNED UP AT 10PM, OUTSTANDING.
