Furniture Repair
Turms out they start good but end up a questionable competent honest reconstruction vendor. Fact, Farmers Insurance recommended vendor Furniture Medic 10129 Valley forge Dr., Houston, Texas 77042 was but turned out 'not" to be a qualified total remediation and restoration specialist, in fact they are limited to Kitchen Cbinets, they did a good job in the Cabinetry restoration. For Farmers Insurance but lacked the skill set and experience for other tasks like painting patching, baseboard instalation or granite repair or basic clean up of drapes, and lacked a totall expertise in water damage reconstruction, which involves rebuilding and restoring the property to its pre-loss condition, including cosmetic repair. Stephanie the Furniture Medic Coordinator for the company admitted and stated "after the fact" on or about June 10. 2025 Furniture Medic had attempted to do this full restoration as a "favor" to Farmers Insurance Company Houston. Which now is being Scheduled for adjudication

Had this company rebuild my lower kitchen cabinets to match upper cabinets and install new flooring and baseboard and all I can say " Kudos" to this company and strongly recommend them for restoration after water damage and or any restoration with a reasonable price

As Rick did the work personally and he has another business besides, it did take awhile for the chair work to be completed but once it was, it was BRILLIANT! The chair looks phenomenal, restored beautifully but not "overly new" looking which is very important when restoring aging or antique furnishings. The "patina" looks very realistic for a chair it's age - not overly polished and glossed. Just even color with a deeper tone (as is typical in true antique patinas) with a soft eggshell finish.

Excellent work - Rick is who I always request. Most work is done on premises if at all possible. Most recent work was a broken table leg for a piece owned by my father-in-law. It was seamless - I cannot tell where the repair was. He is currently working on my father's old high-chair, a family heirloom, restoring it to it's original maple finish from many coats of paint in the past 80 years. While furniture restoration and repair is expensive, you get what you pay for with Rick. I lived in England for many years employing an excellent antique's specialist for furniture restoration and Rick is very much on par with this type of expertise. I had my double wooden front doors re-varnished last year or two ago with a special mixture recommended and done by Rick and they are just a beautiful today as the day he did them. And they are a western exposure. The product he used has UV protection in it which is excellent for my African mahogany doors. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
