Since 1979, Fresh Start Landscapes considers it our responsibility to provide for family and employees in a physical, emotional, and honorable manner by operating our business based on ethical and Christian values. To that end, we provide a variety of high quality outdoor aesthetic and practical amenities, including landscaping, flagstone and rockwork, woodwork and sprinkler systems to residential customers. Understanding that a product is only as good as those who produce it, we are obligated to keep our employees motivated and satisfied by offering them benefits above industry standards and a work environment that encourages creativity and security. I could not be happier with my new backyard! This was my third backyard by Fresh Start but my first experience with Jeff and Rita. They designed a complete backyard for my home that was built a little over a year ago. In addition to the landscaping they extended my existing porch with pavers, built a fire pit with surrounding bench, and installed a custom water feature. They were able to figure out exactly what I wanted with just their initial consultation. I only made two minor changes to their original design. The plants gave me an array of leaf color and shape and were beyond my expectations. Their crew was punctual, efficient, and incredibly talented. It’s easy to see why Fresh Start has been in business for so long.

Jeff and his crew came promptly and did an awesome job. I had a leaks in a PVC pipe (due to my accidentally puncturing it during my Christmas Light setup last season). I also had a couple of sprinkler heads that needed replacing, plus an irrigation Zone that was malfunctioning. Fresh Start Landscapes have done my landscaping and irrigation work since I purchased this home new in 2008. They are a wonderful company and I am proud to call them MY pros for these types of jobs.

They never contacted me after 2 weeks. I called them twice and never received a return phone call. Very disappointed - wanted to be sure Angie's List was aware of the lack of service.

Fresh Start re-designed and installed landscaping in our front and back yards, installed a flag stone patio, repaired and added zones to our sprinkler, installed drainage for our existing patio, installed lighting, trimmed our birch tree, and removed a few stumps. The process was perfect start to finish. Jeff and Rita were friendly, communicative, and were often (if not always) onsite working along side their team. Everything turned out beautifully and we will definitely continue to use them in the future.

Excellent. Jeff and Rita followed up, were always punctual and professional and the plants, design and work performed was great. I got three bids and theirs was the most interesting on ideas both for the redone bed and along the fence line. Over the years I have used one of the big firms as well as a small landscaper and put Fresh Start at the top both due to the combination of what you get, ease of doing business, price and the finished product. Their stone work is also outstanding. Definitely recommend you use them.

Excellent. FSL does top quality work. They had to work around the rain showers but got it all done anyway. Jeff (owner) is very helpful and skilled with this kind of work (and other stuff). Very personable. We met him at the stone supplier so we could pick pavers that go well with the house brick. His crew was very thorough and experienced. Jeff monitored the whole job so it was done just like he/we needed.

We had used Fresh Start Landscapes in 2007 and were very please with their work so we decided to use them again. They were quick to set up an initial appointment to review the work we wanted done. Jeff Richardson spent some time walking around the property with my husband to ***** what was to be removed and made suggestions for refurbishing the landscape. Within a few days we received a proposal outlining the scope of work including a drawing with suggested plants. We accepted all of the suggestions and the work was completed within a week. The crew showed up when promised all debris was removed and the landscape look wonderful upon completion.

The owner showed up first and went over what was going to be done the next three days. He answered all my questions and requests. The crew showed up and worked, what seemed, non-stop for the next three days. They were very nice and even put up with my incredibly curious daughter who kept wanting to go outside to see what was happening. I paid half to the owner on the first day and the other half after the work was finished. The owner was present frequently during the course of the job and walked me through the final review of the work. He showed me how to use the sprinkler system and how to winterize it when the time comes. It was overall a great experience.

This was great. They provided a great design for the entire yard including a sprinkler system. It turned out beautifully. While it cost a good bit of money, it was well worth it.

I really can't say enough about the job these guys did. I got several bids and theirs was the cheapest. They came on time, had an excellent crew, supervisor stayed and had them do things--for no extra charge--that I planned to do after they left (trim trees causing shade, lay rocks in drainage trench, move swingset, etc.). They were quick and cleaned up their mess before leaving. It was perhaps the best yard service I've gotten in The Woodlands since moving here in 1999.

Fresh Start did a great job. They came up with a very good design and worked with us several times in getting the details correct. The total cost included adding a flagstone path and small patio, trimming two trees, adding a large raised bed with assorted plants and trees, fixing several drainage issues (existing), power washing and staining fence, building a fence gate, adding trees beyond our fence line (on the outside of the property), adding to/adjusting sprinkler system, and adding landscape lighting. Everything looks great and we have a yard we will enjoy for 30 years. We get a ton of compliments on our yard now. This is the second time we've employed Fresh Start and both times the work was excellent. They do things right and back up their work. I gave a B for price because I do not believe they are the least expensive but you definitely get what you pay for. We've been very happy with their work.

I had a decent size project as I took builders landscaping and asked them for a plan to help make the yard more appealing. I also wanted low maintenance plants and they were able to select a nice selection that gave my home street appeal in my opinion. Additionally I had a poorly done drainage job performed by a different contractor and they redesigned and rectified that as well. I appreciated working with Jeff and Rita. You can tell they really want to ensure their customers are satisfied with the work they perform. They were prompt, met their deadlines for the job and stayed in touch after the job was finished to ensure I was happy with the work. I would recommend giving them an opportunity should you have some work you need done.

Very impressed with the professionalism, speed in which the work was completed. Jeff and Rita even educated me on how to care for what was being planted and how to use my sprinkler system for better results. Very pleased with the job and will hire again for future needs.

Outstanding quality work. We're very pleased with the end result. In addition, they ensured the sprinkler system was working properly and trimmed the trees to ensure proper sunlight for the new plants, shrubs, and trees. They did an excellent job from start to finish, including the clean up. The owner was on site and met with me several times during the day. Our front yard looks beautiful.

The Freshstart Team was professional and very helpful. Jeff and Rita had great ideas to improve the look of the yard. They helped us keep some of the shrubs we had and incorporate them with the new additions. The entire team was punctual and attentive. We would certainly use them again.

Fantastic! I can't say enough good things about Jeff and Rita, who were attentive throughout the proposal process, modifying the proposal a couple of times in response to my requests, and holding my desired project dates for me despite some uncertainty as to when my fencing project would be completed by another company. I waited several weeks to write this review to make sure that the plants would grow. I had an earlier experience with a local landscaper where plants started dying within a few weeks of installation and nearly all were dead within six months. All the new plants that Fresh Start installed are thriving. All but two of the transplanted plants are doing well. The new sod is incredibly lush and beautiful. All my neighbors have commented on my beautiful new front yard landscaping. I couldn't be more thrilled! Jeff has a great crew who know what they're doing. He stayed in close contact while the work was being done and was on site for several hours to oversee the work personally.
