I'd previously scheduled another home inspector recommended by a friend, only to find out the individual was laid up with a knee injury and hadn't told me until the week I needed a pre-cover inspection. I contacted Lisa for a pre-cover and final inspection, who thankfully had a short notice slot available. On our initial phone call, Lisa provided a no-nonsense account of her qualifications and services, answering all of my questions readily. She's conducted home inspections all over Houston. Even better, our new house is in the Heights and not only has she conducted home inspections all over the Heights, she lives there! She encouraged me to join her for the pre-cover inspection and follow along.
Lisa arrived early to the home site. My wife and I were both able to take time off work to walk with Lisa for the pre-cover inspection. Now, I have to say that my wife and I are detail-oriented people. I'm an engineer, she's an attorney, and we can be pretty OCD when it comes to some things. Over a three-hour site inspection, Lisa patiently answered all of our questions and concerns. We had a list of issues we'd noticed on previous visits, and she worked through it We began the pre-cover home inspection first before conducting her own visit. All together, we felt that she really took our concerns seriously and told us point by point which ones were legitimate or inconsequential.
After the inspection, Lisa delivered a detailed report (22 pages!) with color photographs. Comparing the report to my notes, I found two items that'd been left out; when I contacted Lisa, she immediately revised the report and sent me a fresh copy. She also offered to help us negotiate with the builder if we ran into any serious roadblocks on repair items.
My wife and I were impressed with Lisa's services, and we'll definitely be using her for our final home inspection. I'd definitely recommend her for anyone in the Greater Houston area.
In addition to the great detail of her reports, Ms. Turley has a vast knowledge of the area's contractors, and can confidently recommend the very best companies for additional work if needed. She apparently has a great reputation with those she refers because we did hire several of those independent firms for minor updates, and we were quickly worked into their schedules when booking and had great experiences with the work and professionalism of each one. In the end, if you want a thorough and (brutally!) honest, report done on your home, Lisa Turley of Four S Home Inspections is the inspector to use. I would not hesitate to use Ms. Turley's inspection services again and would recommend them highly to anyone looking to purchase a home.
