FLOORS BY NELSON

I had interior foundation work done which entailed cutting through the existing, original wood floors in my house built in 1960. I told the foundation company I wanted the wood they had cut out. Nelson and his crew leveled six 2' X 2' holes and repaired them by mixing new hardwood in with the old. Then so everything would match I had all the floors stripped and stained a different color. Nelson and his crew did an outstanding job! I appreciated the fact that he had the same job foreman and crew on my job from start to finish. I highly recommend Floors by Nelson.

We have wood floors throughout our town home and Floors By Nelson was one of the flooring contractors recommended by the foundation company. Initially our goal was to relay as much of the removed flooring as possible (400 sq. ft.) and then add matching wood panels to fill in the remaining space. The removed panels of original flooring, however, were too damaged to reuse and we subsequently met with Nelson to have him measure and review our options. We provided him flooring samples and he looked for matches, but in the end couldn't find the right thickness of material. Our next option was to finish off the edges of the existing wood floor and cover the foundation repaired area with carpeting. Nelson thought that would be the best solution even though he does not install carpeting and it wouldn't end up being a large job for him. We were very impressed that he was so supportive of a solution that reduced the scope of the job. Nelson gave us a reasonable quote for edging the remaining wood floor and replace the baseboards throughout the family room. We set a date that was a week later than we would have wished because his crew was booked. He said that he would do what he could to get an earlier date. The same evening after we received the quote, Nelson called and said he could do the work the next day starting at 9:00 a.m. We were very pleasantly surprised by all of this. The next day Nelson and a worker showed up right on time. The job was completed in a couple of hours and we were very pleased by the quality of the work. A couple of weeks later we installed the carpeting using another contractor who was very complimentary of Nelson's work. The carpet installers laid the carpet abutting to the wood flooring without needing a cover strip. Throughout the process, Nelson was very easy to work with and he will be the first flooring contractor we call in the future.

Nelson was recommended to us by a friend so we called him first.  We were so impressed with his meticulousness we didn't both with other companies.  He knew what would work and what wouldn't.  We have approximately 4,000sqft of pine board flooring.  He knew exactly what color stain and finish would make it look great without pulling too much of the grain out.  We have received numerous compliments on how nice the floors look from guests.  His crew was there on time every day and did a great job of cleaning the tremendous mess involved with that much refinishing.  They really payed attention to details and knew the tricks to cover up old damage they were not able to fix.  I would contact Nelson again absolutely.

A really great professional. Nelson planned work about my home renovation schedule and kept me fully updated on each step of the flooring process. His crew removed the old floor, prepared it for installation, applied float and then a water barrier, and then glued the wood floor to the concrete slab. The next steps were to sand and then apply the sealer/stain.
Nelson is very knowledgeable about installing wood floors on a variety of surfaces. I strongly recommend him.
