I brought my car in the early am; about an hour after i came in, they told me they were waiting for the necessary part, and they finished with both the repair in the inspection in about 2.5 hours after my arrival, very workable to my way of thinking.
I chose to wait, but they offered several times to give me a ride home.
I feel that in a world of sometimes not so reliable automotive repair shops that they stand head and shoulders above the majority. i will continue to bring my car to them for all my repair/maintenance needs.
diagnosed it as something primarily cosmetic instead, then fixed it. Did
that and also an inspection for under $80! I was very happy and will
definitely use them again.
My husband used Eric's recently for his car inspection and he said they were very professional and helped him with a problem regarding his inspection and registration stickers (under the new system of one sticker). So, instead of going to my Mobil station around the corner as they have changed management, I thought I would try Eric's. I was immediately greeted by the gentleman behind the counter and he told me it would take about 45 minutes to an hour to have an inspection as there was one car being inspected and two cars waiting. I had come prepared with a project to do and a book to read, so I said no problem. They had several chairs to sit at and a restroom (nice to know!). My car was indeed ready in about one hour or a little less and he explained the new one-sticker inspection and registration system.
The part I really want to share is how I noted all customers were being handled: Professionally. Each person who came in behind me (and there were many), whether he/she was seeking an oil change, a tire repair, an inspection, etc., was immediately greeted (a "ding" sounds when someone comes in the door and they hear this in the garage). Each time, the man behind the counter checked with the workers for an up-to-date time frame and came back and relayed that information (which was typically 45 to 60 minutes as they were busy). Due to his honest time assessment, some customers opted to leave or come back at another time. I liked that Eric's was honest about the wait, even if it meant they lost some business.
The only thing they probably need is a bigger waiting area. I opted not to leave my seat as I chose to wait there, for fear of someone snagging it, but there is also, within walking distance, a Smoothie King and a Fresh Market where you can sit and wait and have a smoothie or coffee, or a bite to eat. If you opted to do that, they will call you on your cell phone when your car is ready.
"We strive to take care of our customers as quickly as possible with quality service. We do get backed up a little once in awhile but we try very hard to respect our customers time and keep them rolling as quick as we can. Thank you for your feedback. See you soon."
"Thank you Vick........."
"We always take concern for our pricing to our customers. We work closley with all of our vendors to insure that we have a quality part at a reasonable price. We try very hard not to install lesser quality parts to insure a proper and lasting repair. We realize that vehicles never break at the most convinient times and the cost of repairs can sometimes be more than expected. We are very fair with our prices. Thank you."
"We stand behind our warranty with no questions asked. Thank you for your thoughts."
Next month, the noise came back, of course, I did not return to Eric's Car Care, I took it with someone else and it cost me only $100 dlls to change the other two brake rotors & pads.
I am not going back with this thieves anymore!!!
"Thank you for taking the time to comment on our service.Let me start by saying that we are NOT thieves.Your vehicle came in with scored rotors and worn out REAR brake pads..As far as your front brake pads needing to be replaced for $100.00 your technician used the cheapest brake pads available on the market Eric's car care uses the best parts.avaialable .Again thank you and have a great day."

Ask for Sam, the manager. He'll take good care of you.

"(Member name removed) Thank you for your review..Obviously you have a problem with the store manager. So lets tell his side of the story. First of all when a customer comes to our shop they usually come through front lobby and tell us about their concerns . then a work order will be assigned to a technician for diagnostic then estimate will be presented to the customer for approval. This is the right way to cunduct business in a repair shop. However in your case.. You came in the day before and ask for the GOOD MECHANIC which you are absolutely right we do have good mechanic's so thank you for that , when you were asked if you need help you said NO. The next day you came by and parked your truck across the parking lot and came out wiyh your girlfriend and walked directly to the mecanic's bay.then suddenly he is under the hood of your truck(adding coolant & seal tap's) which these are part's that should be paid for. the mechanic proceeded to start working on your girlfriends car( parked in our lot all day whith no key's or information) , after approximately 45 minutes the hood's were closed & he handed you the key then the car were gone. No paper work , no diag & NO CHARGE $00.00. When the manager (Sam) was asking the mechanic about what is going on you jumped into the discussion to defend THE GOOD MECHANIC. when you mentioned your military background which realy had nothing to do with any thing it was no MOCKING and you can't go around USING YOUR MILITARY BACKGROUND TO GO AROUND MANAGMENT. You would come as any customer and ask if there are military discounts and if our policy is not to your liking you do have the right to do buisness elsewhere. when a conversation between a Manager and Employee about the situation you should have stayed out of that. So lets be truthfull here if all had been done through the front door ..NONE of this would of happened and you would be one of our VERY long list of GREAT customr's. Thank you / Management"

However, I called about a potential mistake on their part, and I spoke to the manager, Sam. I didn't attack, or even expect them to figure it out for me (part of it was my mistake for not following it up earlier), I just needed a little assistance figuring out the problem at hand. Sam went on the attack without taking my name, finding out what I was asking for or looking up my history with them. I didn't even get my question out of my mouth before being called a liar. I was in absolute shock, I didn't expect to be attacked, called a liar at 8am when calling a company I expected to be rational. When I asked for the manager, after a slew of verbal abuse, Sam informed me he was the manager. When I asked to speak to the owner, Sam hung up on me!
He hung up on me. Without any cause, what so ever. I didn't shout, scream, swear. I was defensive and trying to explain myself and feeling emotional, but nothing out of proportion to the conversation.
I called right back and spoke to Chris, who was polite, but didn't really offer to do much, and didn't call me back as promised. By then, honestly, I was in tears. I wish I had "held it together", but that was very difficult and very inappropriate. I received no apology, no offer to help, no advice. Just verbal abuse.
I prefer shopping at small businesses, but I found their rates to be 30% higher then chains. Its worth noting. I might pay for that for service an...but obviously I didn't get good service when their was a problem.
We will not be using them again.
"First of all thank you for taking the time to write the review. however we have listen to your problem but you just didn' like the answer. We do not have your donut spare tire in our shop. we hav no reason to keep it from you.by accusing us of steeling your spare tire did not help the conversation to go any longer. we are sorry for your truble & I wish it was any thing i can do to help you. we have serviced both of your vehicle for year's & never had an issue. In regard to our service & price's ..we choose to use O.E parts on our customer's vehicle's & we take pride in our work & be able to cover the warranty . our business is built on honesty & integrity Again i hope you accept my opology & good luck."
People were professional and friendly. Only issue was they performed an unrequested oil change (my car uses a special oil additive which they did not have and warranties the engine). The oil still had 800 miles on it.
They did not charge me for the oil change.
I do like these people and they were friendly but they should have asked me before changing the oil.
"We would like to thank you for your review. Also I apologize for any human error during the service. By telling us how we are doing it help us to improve and be able to serve our customer's better. ... Thank you again for your comment's..."
