Right on schedule and went along fine. He also had our pool deck resurfaced.

We looked into 5 other pool companies, they came out to meet us, measure and quote a design for our backyard. We just kept running into the same thing, "A shaped pool is going to be cheaper than a rectangle.", but that wasn't what we wanted. The prices, were astronomical! Alfredo with Destiny Pools did the same as they did, but his design was what we wanted at a reasonable price and we couldn't be happier with our decision to go with him!! 
Alfredo showed us photos of work that was previously done with before and after pictures and was able to bring us to a job he was completing near by.  He explained the cost of supplies and labor and how it would be spent and gave us a spreadsheet to follow along with the spending as it occured.  He let us know in advance what days were going to be for what, ex- excavation, rebar, gunite, plumbing, electrical, concrete, tile, etc.  We selected the design of the pool and patio. We collaborated on tile, stone and pool concrete coloring. He was able to get us into contact with someone to finish off our gutters so the rain water didn't pour into the pool as it was being built.  We were able to get the landscaping done in the back and the front to really finish off the beauty of our backyard oasis.  He explained how to use the filter and the importance of a cleaning schedule as well as continued maintenance.  We were taught how to use the remote and box on the house to adjust times for the filter.  
We've recommended him to our neighbors and would continue to stand by him.

The contractor did a great work in our patio. We extended / added extra paver to the original back patio, and extend the roof in another part of the lot..... adding an outdoor covered kitchen, with a gas grill, freezer and sink, a bar area that can sit 8 people, and extra space to have a table and chairs. We also made a separate area for a gas fire pit, located in a higher level with a round shape, that is the preferred reunion place of our house, were we can sit about 10 people.

The materials used in the outdoor kitchen is stone and granite for the countertop.... and the fire pit is made with stone and little bricks.... the paver has stone in the borders and the swimming pools type of paver finish. All our friends agree with us that the work and design we have is fantastic and the quality of the work done is outstanding. All the drainage from the new roof (gutters) and the new floors were taking care of and work perfectly (good work with the slope to avoid water problems with the rain).

The contractor went an extra mile in his design and always made great suggestions to improve the look of our new outdoor patio, including paint to the actual yard fence and how we can make the patio looks better with extra landscaping in the back of the patio (that we did with another contractor), that actually increase the value of the work we did with him. He also paint under his expense the original patio cover to make it look exactly like the new one, so all the outdoor looks like it is part of the original house construction.

The price paid for the work was good. We requested 5 different budgets and designs from different contractors, and the contractor's budget was in the middle, but the materials that he offered were better than the others, and the final design made us take the decision to use this contractor. At the end we consider the price paid fair for the outdoor patio we have now. 

Destiny Custom Pools & Spa Inc. is a great contractor and we definitively will use this company to make any other future improvements in our house.

Alfredo Carvajal is the owner of Destiny Custom Pools and Spas, Inc., and is an amazing person as well as business owner.  After many years of debating building a pool we decided in spring 2015 to move forward and began the process of getting estimates and meeting with potential pool builders.  We contacted 6 builders, met with 3 and very fortunately decided to sign a contract with Destiny Custom Pools and Spas. Initially I met with the representatives, and instantly appreciated the honesty and openness I felt with Alfredo.  He patiently explained the entire process, offering his opinion when asked, and advising of the pros and cons of material options.  He asked about what we were looking for in a pool, what was important to us, and then worked it into a budget.  When my husband was able to meet with my "final list," including competitors,  he immediately agreed we would chose Alfredo.  Destiny Custom Pools was in the middle of the estimates we were given, but the value and product we received was far superior.  The cost analysis is incredibly transparent and easy to understand, enabling you to track where the project is on budget, if there is extra money in certain portions it can be transferred to another area of the project or even deducted from the total.   Alfredo works primarily by word of mouth referral, encouraging potential customers to view in person other pools he has built (as we did with permission of owners) and ask any questions.  By limiting the number of pools he builds in a year, he is able to focus on each customer individually with care and quality services.  He was personally involved with every step of the process, responded quickly to our phone calls and kept us constantly informed.  He was knowledgeable, accurate, and expedient with all permits and paperwork for HOA and the city, keeping us informed every step of the way.  Once the building was underway, he was physically present at every step to supervise and ensure it was progressing to his standards.  We were required to be out of town during the very rainy summer and tropical storm which happened to be the days following the digging.  Alfredo was present every single day to place tarps and pumps and do whatever he could to protect the pool, it was amazing.  We have several friends who were building pools with other companies at the same time in our neighborhood and not a single one received the care and attention we did, all had to go buy their own pumps, had walls collapse, and could not get in touch with their pool builders for weeks after.  Additionally of note: he is so considerate to the neighborhood that his crew replaces any portion of fence they need to remove at the end of EACH work day, meaning that you do not have bright orange fencing and an open yard for all to see. Alfredo has a very trusted group of subcontractors who worked efficiently, respectfully and cleanly.    Our project remained on budget at all times with the only increases overall being when WE chose to increase the square footage of decking and travertine stone on the rear wall of the pool for improved aesthetics, but the cost was minimal as there were savings in other areas that we were able to shift funds from, all very clearly delineated with prices and recipts.  While we were not required to use his business acquaintances or subcontractors for additional portions of the project, we chose to and were very pleased. We used his landscaping contact and another contact to build a 12x12 pergola and stain the pergola and backyard fence.  The entire project took approximately 6 weeks in the summer.  We are beyond thrilled with the pool and backyard. The customer service, the process from start to finish, the final project, the value, the quality of work, are just so far superior to any we have seen or heard of in our area, I can only express our utmost satisfaction.  Alfredo has continued to provide excellent customer service even a year later but frequently stopping by to see how the pool is doing and answering any questions we may have.  He truly cares about his customers and the quality and reputation of his work.  BONUS!!! Our neighbors who personally watched Alfredo come to our house daily during the rainy time we were out of town we so impressed that they are now building a pool with him.  Destiny Custom Pools and Spas has my highest recommendation and were we to move into another home without a pool , we would use this company again without hesitation!

Overall, the experience was great. Alfredo Carvajal, the owner, was present most of the time, specially on the key phases of the construction. We talked with at least 3 other pool builders before making the decision and decided to go with Destiny Pools because of their personal dedication, design and pricing of course. The pool came out really well with waterfalls, fire bowls and a big jacuzzi. We were a bit scared with all comments we had heard from friends and neighbors about the experience of building a pool, but Destiny Pools met the deadlines committed at the beginning during the planning sessions. I appreciated the advice we got from Alfredo regarding the decking and the materials to use. My wife and I wanted to install travertine on the whole deck, but Alfredo advised we should use Spray Deck instead (less slippery, cheaper and looks nice too). We are so glad we followed his advise. Also, because pricing was very reasonable, we were able to spend some more money on fire bowls (that we always wanted) and build a very nice outdoor kitchen. Destiny also recommended a gardener that took care of all the greenery in my backyard. It has been 2 years since we build our pool and have no issues (apart from regular maintenance issues).
