Do not use Design Carpet because they scammed us and our insurance company. In 1999, we had red oak floors installed throughout the entire downstairs of our house from another company. They were absolutely beautiful for 14 years until our hot water heater overflowed while we were out of town and flooded the downstairs of our house. In 2013, our insurance company strongly recommended Design Carpet to install new red oak floors throughout the entire downstairs of our house. They were paid over $40,000 to install the new red oak wood floors. Within a few weeks of installation, the wood started to cup along the width of all of the boards so we called Design Carpet to come over to fix the problem. The owner, David, and the manager, Steve, came up with all kinds of excuses as to why this had happened and said that it was our fault. However, all of the conditions that they said caused the problem had existed prior to when they installed the floors and there was never a problem with our original hardwood floors that we had for 14 years. So at the very least, they didn’t do their job to ensure that their floors had the right external conditions to be viable. Their recommendation was that we file another insurance claim. They wanted to completely replace the floors that had just been installed. When I said that I would owe $4000 for the deductible, they said that they would “work with us.” Their recommendation to fix the problem was to commit insurance fraud. We lived with the cupped floors for seven years. A few months ago, we had several other floor companies come to our house to tell us what could be done. These other companies said that the floors just needed to be sanded flat and that would fix the problem. Again, we called David from Design Carpet to come over and he still continued to give us the run around. He would not even bother to give us a bid to sand the floors even though we asked several times. It cost us $9000 to hire another company to sand and stain our floors. It has been several months since the floors were refinished and they look fantastic! This is something that Design Carpet should have done to our floors to fix them at no cost to us but instead they wanted to rip us off and our insurance company too.

Have been on time and performed the work in a professional manner.

The actual company were great but their contractors took longer to finish the job.  The contractors went AWOL and didn't finish when they thought. They extended the job by about two or three days. The company was great. The lady that I worked with was phenomenal and she had great suggestions. But, the people they contracted to come in and do the work just slipped for a little bit. They came back and finished it. They did what they were supposed to do. She was very apologetic about the fact that it happened and did what she needed to do to get a hold of them. It was a hiccup in the scheduling and I am sure we are not the first person that has that. I gave the price a B because it was a fair amount. For what we had done, it was a very reasonable, fair amount. Responsiveness is a B because it goes along with the contracting thing.

Carpet came in flawed from mill. It took quite awhile to get a new pattern. Installer was superior.

Nice workmanship for work provided.  Had issues with  the water heater and the toilet after being reinstalled.  Minor gas leak on heater, as well as water leaks at the connections both on the heater and the toilet, both of which I attended to myself.

Overall, I suppose it was still a good deal the guys on sight were polite and professional.

I have used this company three times over the last 10 years. Always been pleased with their products, assistance, and installation of both carpeting and tile.

From start to finish, I was pleased with the process.

They did a great job. Everyone was professional, pleasant, and very helpful. I recommend them highly and would definately use them again!
