overcharged me for my pre-wiring at house and not properly wired

I had used Datasmart because they had been recommended by my builder.  Initial installation and day-to-day service was fine; however, long (36-month) contract, and extremely unresponsive customer service made cancelling my service extremely difficult. Not worth the hassle- the price is the same as any of the big, more efficient, an customer-friendly companies, with more hassles.

The builder we used has a contract with this company. We were urged to sign the 3 year contract that was quickly reviewed. I did not anticipate moving however we must move. When needing to cancel my service due to an unexpected move, where an alarm system is not available to have where we are going, I am being charged 75% of the remaining balance of the entire contract. This is close to $1,000. Yes, the service was fine while using it. But, buyer beware... please read the contract. Unless the buyers of your home are willing to sign a new multiple year agreement, you will be charged basically the entire price of your contact. I understand why contracts need termination fees but this is exorbitant and unrealistic. I am not and quot;leavingand quot; their company to hire another. I am moving due to things outside of my control. I would look for another company that treats their customers better. I will indeed need home security in the future (but not right now) and this company will not get my business again. Not to mention I will make sure my current neighbors know to read the contract VERY well before signing. This will be posted on the neighborhoods FB page as a warning.

They installed my security system and the installer was great. He was the best guy I had out when I was building my home.
