I am being sued for more money

The tile work is great. That is the only good thing about the experience. They don't clean up after themselves and do little to protect the floors. The contractor sounds good and promises a quick job. Don't believe it. What he says will take weeks actually took months, no one shows up to do work when he says they will, and he went weeks without returning phone calls. To me I paid a lot of money and was totally disrespected. I'll never use them again.

Let's just start with this contractor was provided with keys to our new home on the 8th of June.  I was told the project would take no more than 3-4 weeks TOPS.  On Friday August 15th, I sent an email telling Vic that he would be done Friday or my Attorney would be contacting him to negotiate how much money he owed me.
He finally completed the work on Tuesday, August 19th.  We finished the job about $300 over budget only because I held him to the quoted numbers.  At one point after his crew painted the ceiling the wrong color, he attempted to get me to pay him an additional $900 to have his guys paint the kitchen and family room ceilings to remedy the unmatched paint.  I ended up doing it myself. 
When I signed the contract with Vic, I was told the EVERY person on my job with the exception of the Plumber and the Electrician would be Buccaneer Employees. This was an outright Lie.  Virtually EVERY person whom worked on my home with a Sub-Contractor.  To install 200 sqft of Marble, 1300 sqft of hardwood, install 48" Range and Hood and install 6 recessed lights should not take almost 3 months.  Almost every thing that he told me when we were negotiating the contract ended up being wrong, from the wholesale cost of the Granite to the fabrication costs per sqft.
While the quality of the work was not bad (and it wasn't outstanding either) This guy is NOT a company I would recommend to anyone that I planned on staying friends with.
