When Johnny came out, we really didn't know what to expect. He analyzed our issues and came up with a detailed plan and drawing. His crews showed up on time and work was completed quickly and efficiently. He didn't ask for any payments until the first big rain storm; he wanted to make sure all the gutters and drains were working properly. I highly recommend Blalock Landscaping and Drainage.

It’s beautiful - and functional. The rain falls and flows away from the house - just like it is supposed to - and I have a gorgeous stamped cement patio. Johnny and Eduardo discussed several different options and obviously know what they are doing. Eduardo’s crew was very polite and professional - they weren’t just day workers digging dirt and hauling cement. They were knowledgeable and focused on making sure the new patio sloped correctly around the beds to the new drains. I’m looking forward to having them do more work for me in the next year or so.

Excellent work! - Mr Blalock himself came to review all the options and costs with us before scheduling the big work. He even gave good tips on other companies for other work we need. On the work-day, they called to say they were coming. Their crew worked quickly, had the right special tools and were professional. Hard to show a photo since its all nicely hidden in the garden ground. Hopefully, we're better prepared for the next heavy rains and hurricanes.

This is my second time using Blalock Landscaping & Drainage and I can't say enough positive comments about them. They are always on time and completely professional. In fact, they have become the yard stick that measure all other contractors by.

The work was done quickly and effectively. The area was left clean and functioned as expected during the rains so far.

The work crew was very polite and courteous. The yard was left organized -tools picked up, trash picked up and the front drive blown down. The superintendent kept us informed of the next days events and expectations. The work was on schedule. The office personnel kept in contact to make sure I was pleased with the service. I was and still am pleased with the outcome. It is great to watch it rain and watch it drain. I would recommend speaking with them if one is considering a drainage project. You will get a sketch and estimate for your decision making process.

Project cost seemed "pricey", although a discount was offered with extended work. Crew worked very hard and were polite and respectful. Supervisor (John) quite knowledgeable and crew followed all instructions. Very satisfied with project completion.

*** This is an UPDATE for my June 2017 review, Post-Hurricane Harvey *** I Just wanted to give this company an additional quick shout out to say THANK YOU for all the amazing drainage re-engineering and excellent construction and landscaping they did with this job. We had 36” of rain at our place during Harvey and ZERO standing water, no flooding and not even any floated wood chips out of the kid playground area. Amazing. The work they did looks great, and performed beautifully under conditions nobody could have imagined. I'd offer my strongest endorsement for the solid work Blalock does.

The experience with Blalock Landscaping has been great, and we will use them again. Over the last two years we have worked with them steadily to take on this project, and the backyard is now done. The principal of the firm, Johnny Blalock, was instrumental in diagnosing issues and designing the solutions and aesthetics we needed and wanted. The team foreman John is also excellent to work with and the crews are always courteous and professional. They are always clear about pricing up front and provided drawings made on site and samples as we worked through ideas and through the project itself. Their team and their preferred partnering contractors (concrete, electrical) removed all the old backyard problems, regraded the drainage and installed a completely new and upgraded underground drainage system across the backyard, draining to the street. A wraparound patio was installed as well as new DG flooring, new sod, new beds and a fence to conceal our AC unit. We also completed the house gutter system and installed covers on all gutters. They also installed a raised playground base for a playlet we bought for our kids, and have redone all the electrical outlets in the yard and put in low voltage LED lighting as a final touch. In short, our yard is fully and completely transformed, and we love the result. The project took about two years to complete, but their work time was really on the order of about 3-4 weeks total spread out over this time in two major installations. Cash flow was a concern for us with a project of this scale, and they were easy to work with in figuring out how to make the project modular to fit our budget and cash-flow rate. We look forward to continuing work with them as we look to refurbishing our front yard in the future. Truly excellent craftspeople, professional and easy to work with, courteous and very fairly priced.

All went exceptionally well! Knowledgeable, honest, professional, kind - every person from the first (scheduler-administrator Ashley) to our first meeting with Johnny Blalock to the day of work (John and his crew) and beyond. They all pay meticulous attention to detail, completely respectful of our needs and our property. Their concern is meeting the needs of the customer and doing their jobs right and well. Impressive integrity and work ethic. Every person in this organization is first class. Good, good people.

I had a emergency situation and he took care of me immediately . They were the most professional group I have ever used. He told me I would not be able to tell where they had dug and that was true. My next-door neighbor had some work done and their cleanup work and appearance was horrible . I realized how conscientious and considerate Blalock was after watching the other company. Payment was not required until I was satisfied with the drainage . When it comes to drainage they do know their business.

Johnny Blalock recommended gutters and 2 drains to route water in the yard and coming off a large roof area. We did both - the drainage issue ceased immediately (water routed out of the back yard to a drainage easement). Then we could begin our replanting by ourselves as we enjoy that part of landscaping we can do ourselves.

It went well start to finish.

They are not cheap, but I believe they did the job right. I had another company put in the same thing a few years ago and it did not last. These folks seem to know what they are doing. I hope it will last, but I cannot know for a couple of years! Showed up and completed the work on time.

I have worked for years trying to get the drainage working in my yard. They are fast, neat and expensive, but worth it! I would recommend them to anyone.

Excellent. I was so pleased with the plan Johnny Blalock suggested to prevent my backyard from future flooding. A recent thunderstorm was a good test with no standing water remaining in my backyard,

The owner, the foreman and the crew were all wonderful. They were punctual, very professional and very meticulous in their work. The owner worked with my ideas and offered great suggestions. The crew of five worked steadily for about 5 1/2 hours and took a short lunch break. They were willing to do anything asked of them and cleaned up spotlessly. The grass where the drain was installed should grow back without any problems; in fact, it's hard to tell where they did their work. And the drain under the sidewalk that goes into the street looks great and blends with the old concrete. The concrete looks like it will stay intact and not break like so many others in my neighborhood. I would whole heartedly recommend Blalock for your landscaping and drainage work. In fact, I plan to have them back next spring to "spruce up" my beds. I'd be willing to put up a yard sign advertising their work if they asked.
