Bill did quality work for us today. He ensured that he found the best color match. He took his time and yet was very efficient with the project, having it all done in a matter of hours. We also found his pricing to be fair. We would hire him again for next project.

Mr. Birkline was very punctual and performed the work as required. He explained very clearly what the price was for his labor and the materials were paid separate against receipts. He was very thorough, very careful and fast. Price was reasonable.

Bill had done some good work for me more than 5 years ago, so I called on him again to repair some damaged / rotten soffits & fascia boards + painting them to match the original color. He gave me an estimate and we agreed on any subsequent changes - as I had told him to check all around the house and change everything needed. He took more time than originally agreed, but the additional cost was reasonable. He did a good job removing the debris / old wood. Bill also made a great recommendation to have my gutters replaced and even called the contractor to give me a quote. Yes, I plan to use Bill's services again.

I am very pleased with Bill’s work. He is very reliable, someone you can totally walk away and just let him does his work. He was very detailed, treated my house just like his house. It went great. I gave him a deposit (about half of the labor) and he got started. Called me to give me progress reports. It was off and on rain the whole time but he managed to get in and get it done. He found some other wood that needed replacement but really didn't charge me extra. He called to say it was done and I met him and everything looked great. I was about to pay him too much but he mentioned my math error. On time for every meeting and progress reports AND did the job perfectly.

He did a pretty good job painting. The job itself took a much longer time than expected. He would say "I have a more important job to do than this", and he would be gone days at a time and his father would come in his place. He also told me he would repair my screens and that he would fix the outside light (this was suppose to be included in 4530.00 total) He offered to fix them at $7 per screen but never completed that portion of the contract. I ended up having to pay $20 a screen and used another company. I tried on several occasions to reach to him and he has never responded my calls, even picking up the phone and hanging up.

"THE JOB WAS ORIGINALLY AROUND THAT RANGE BUT AFTER WE BEGAN WORK, HE PROCEEDED TO TELL STORIES OF HIS LIFE WHICH CAME ACROSS AS A GUILT TRIP AND HOW HE CANNOT AFFORD THE AGREED UPON PRICE AND WANTED TO BARTER WITH USED TOOLS AND ITEMS FROM HIS GARAGE TAKING A TOTAL OF OVER $1000 OFF OF THE PRICE. WE AGREED BECAUSE HE WAS A REPEAT CUSTOMER AND A WIDOWER. AT THAT TIME WE INFORMED HIM THAT BECAUSE OF THE PRICE REDUCTION WE WOULD HAVE TO SPLIT UP SO WE COULD TAKE ON ANOTHER CLIENT AT THE SAME TIME TO MAINTAIN OUR BUDGET. HE AGREED. DURING THE JOB HE CONTINUED TO ADD WORK FOR NO EXTRA COST AND TRY TO BARTER SOME MORE. WHEN ALL WAS SAID AND DONE HE ASKED FOR THE SCREENS WHEN I HAD TIME TO RETURN. AFTER SEVERAL DAYS HE BEGAN TO GET VERY IMPAITENT WITH US AND RUDE. SO WE DECIDED TO LET HIM FIND ANOTHER CONTRACTOR THAT MIGHT HAVE MORE CHAIRITY IN THEIR BUDGET TO DEAL WITH HIM, BECAUSE WE HAD RUN OUT OF FREEBEES. SINCE THIS ORDEAL WE HAVE TIGHTENED UP OUR CONTRACTS AND HAVE MUCH LESS LEANIENCE TOWARDS ADD ONS WITH WRITTEN DOCUMENTATION AND BARTERING. IT WAS A SHAME FOR US TO READ A NEGATIVE REVIEW AFTER WORKING MANY DAYS AND TRYING TO DO A GOOD DEED. THANK YOU MR. [Member Name Removed] FOR YOUR JOB, BUT WE AS A COMPANY ARE MUCH MORE CAREFULL NOW BEFORE WE DECIDE TO "HELP" SOMEONE AGAIN."

Excellent; I was able to buy paint at discounted cost through his account; he advised me the best colors for my purpose; he was able to complete more than he anticipated during the time frame of the coupon, and advised me what to discuss with other painters that finished job.

"THIS IS A VERY SURPRISING GRADE. THIS JOB ENTAILED MOVING THOUSANDS OF COMIC BOOKS, ACTION FIGURES, AND OTHER KID TOYS THAT [Member Name Removed] COLLECTS. AFTER MOVING ALL OF THE TOYS AND COLLECTABLES WE HAD TO CLEAN BEFORE WE COULD START THE SHEETROCK REPAIR AND PAINTING. WE PAINTED FLOORS AND WALLS AND RESTOCKED HIS COLLECTABLES. HE HAD A NEW HOME WITHOUT BUGS OR DIRT EVERYWERE. HE WAS VERY HAPPY UPON COMPLEATION AND PAID HAPPILY. AS WE TRY TO DO ON EVERY JOB WE SPENT EXTRA TIME TAKING CARE OF THE SPECIFIC NEEDS OF THE INDIVIDUAL CLIENT. IN THIS CASE IT WAS MOVING ITEMS THAT HE WAS UNABLE TO DUE TO A BACK INJURY AND CLEAN THE HOME BEFORE AND AFTER THE QUOTED WORK. WE RECIEVED NO EXTRA PAY FOR ALL THE EXTRA WORK. AND WE ONLY ASKED HIM FOR A GOOD REVIEW AS A THANK YOU. WE WERE SHOCKED TO SEE THAT AFTER A YEAR AND A HALF HE FINALLY GAVE US A REVIEW BUT IT WASNT POSITIVE."

Bill and Matt (father and son) did an excellent job. They were very professional, friendly and meticulous. Matt handled the construction side and Bill took care of the painting. I was very pleased with the work and I am very particular, so I really appreciated how they paid close attention to detail. Their work was flawless. They also did a great job of cleaning up at the end of each day. If you like good quality work and appreciate perfection, I highly recommend this company. Two of my neighbors have already requested their contact information, so this is an example of their excellent work.

Bill has done several jobs for us in the past, so this review is long overdue. I did want to make sure I submitted one though, because he's always done such great work, and at such a reasonable price. One of the things I especially like about Bill is his resourcefulness - I always call him about painting, but then usually have various other small, handyman jobs, and he always knows how to do them and does them very well. His strength, though, is really painting, and he does a great job with that. He provides high quality work, very reasonable prices, reliability, honesty, and professionalism. It's hard to beat that combination!

Matt Berkline and his father, Bill, do an excellent job. Matt handles the construction and the business side while Bill does all of the painting. Great people and very pleasant to talk to. Where very prompt and worked with us while we coordinated a new roof and guttering. Will have them come back to paint entire inside of house next.

I bought a house in Sugar Land and wanted to get interior painting done before move in. Found this deal on Angieslist and contacted the painters. It is Father and Son team with one helper occasionally. They did amazing job painting my house and doing minor repairs in the walls. We did final inspection at the end of the job and everything looked good and we made final payment. However, at night we found some sheen difference with our lights on at some area. I contacted Matt (son), and they promptly came back to put another coat in the area.
They are not the people who will run away once they get final payment and would go a step further to build a long term relation ship.

Excellent work. Bill, Matt and their crew went above and beyond my expectations. I have used them in the past for small sheetrock repair/paint jobs. This time around I was preparing my house for sale so this was a much larger job. They did an outstanding job and I would recommend them to anyone. My house looked brand new and sold in just two days!
Work performed: Painted interior of entire house - doors, trim, etc. Tear down and re-hang sheetrock on garage ceiling. Installed new hot water heater. Painted kitchen cabinets. Hung new back door and frame. Installed new bathroom fixtures and light fixtures. Pressure washed exterior of house and driveway.

I wish all contractors were like this one. Everything was perfect. He helped us pick the right paint and color. He was on time starting the work and on time finishing the job. He was very pleasant the entire time. I wish he could do other types of home projects for us like flooring or roofing or AC...
