Bill did quality work for us today. He ensured that he found the best color match. He took his time and yet was very efficient with the project, having it all done in a matter of hours. We also found his pricing to be fair. We would hire him again for next project.

I have been using Mr. Birkline and his services since 2013 for various handyman services and make-ready projects. He always provides a fair and reasonable price and look forward to utilizing his services again in the near future.

Bill had done some good work for me more than 5 years ago, so I called on him again to repair some damaged / rotten soffits & fascia boards + painting them to match the original color. He gave me an estimate and we agreed on any subsequent changes - as I had told him to check all around the house and change everything needed. He took more time than originally agreed, but the additional cost was reasonable. He did a good job removing the debris / old wood. Bill also made a great recommendation to have my gutters replaced and even called the contractor to give me a quote. Yes, I plan to use Bill's services again.

I am very pleased with Bill’s work. He is very reliable, someone you can totally walk away and just let him does his work. He was very detailed, treated my house just like his house. Excellent; I was able to buy paint at discounted cost through his account; he advised me the best colors for my purpose; he was able to complete more than he anticipated during the time frame of the coupon, and advised me what to discuss with other painters that finished job.

Bill and Matt (father and son) did an excellent job. They were very professional, friendly and meticulous. Matt handled the construction side and Bill took care of the painting. I was very pleased with the work and I am very particular, so I really appreciated how they paid close attention to detail. Their work was flawless. They also did a great job of cleaning up at the end of each day. If you like good quality work and appreciate perfection, I highly recommend this company. Two of my neighbors have already requested their contact information, so this is an example of their excellent work.

Bill has done several jobs for us in the past, so this review is long overdue. I did want to make sure I submitted one though, because he's always done such great work, and at such a reasonable price. One of the things I especially like about Bill is his resourcefulness - I always call him about painting, but then usually have various other small, handyman jobs, and he always knows how to do them and does them very well. His strength, though, is really painting, and he does a great job with that. He provides high quality work, very reasonable prices, reliability, honesty, and professionalism. It's hard to beat that combination!

Matt Berkline and his father, Bill, do an excellent job. Matt handles the construction and the business side while Bill does all of the painting. Great people and very pleasant to talk to. Where very prompt and worked with us while we coordinated a new roof and guttering. Will have them come back to paint entire inside of house next.

I bought a house in Sugar Land and wanted to get interior painting done before move in. Found this deal on Angieslist and contacted the painters. It is Father and Son team with one helper occasionally. They did amazing job painting my house and doing minor repairs in the walls. We did final inspection at the end of the job and everything looked good and we made final payment. However, at night we found some sheen difference with our lights on at some area. I contacted Matt (son), and they promptly came back to put another coat in the area. They are not the people who will run away once they get final payment and would go a step further to build a long term relation ship.

Arrived when they said, finished within the day and everything looks great.

Excellent work. Bill, Matt and their crew went above and beyond my expectations. I have used them in the past for small sheetrock repair/paint jobs. This time around I was preparing my house for sale so this was a much larger job. They did an outstanding job and I would recommend them to anyone. My house looked brand new and sold in just two days! Work performed: Painted interior of entire house - doors, trim, etc. Tear down and re-hang sheetrock on garage ceiling. Installed new hot water heater. Painted kitchen cabinets. Hung new back door and frame. Installed new bathroom fixtures and light fixtures. Pressure washed exterior of house and driveway.

I wish all contractors were like this one. Everything was perfect. He helped us pick the right paint and color. He was on time starting the work and on time finishing the job. He was very pleasant the entire time. I wish he could do other types of home projects for us like flooring or roofing or AC...

He was friendly and talkative, but still efficient. He finished the work in a timely manner.

It was good. It took longer than they expected. One painter came out and the clean up was good.

Birkline painting is a great company. They were prompt & responsive and their workmanship is outstanding. Matt, who handles most of the business end of things in addition to painting, stressed that their job is to make us happy. It really shows in their workmanship and the extra effort they put in. They tossed in a lot of little extras (installing new lighting fixtures, reattaching a drain pipe to the gutter, etc.). They were also very thorough when they painted the exterior, and found lots of wood sections that needed repair/replacement. Having those fixed is a real relief. It only cost me another $300 to fix those problems; if they hadn't been caught, the repairs could easily have stretched into the thousands down the road. It's a father & son team, so you know who's spending time in & around your house, which is also nice. I've already recommended them to friends and family (including my mother-in-law) and will definitely use them in the future.

Matt came over on time and gave me an estimate.. Wanted him to start the next day, since there was a paint sale @ Sherwin. He wasn't free until the next week to start, but he said he'll pass on the 1/3 contractor discounts on paint and materials. It worked out well. We chose our colors, they had good feedback on shades. Estimated 4 / 5 days, they were punctual and professional. They fixed a few cabinet hinges in the bathroom which weren't part of the job, very nice of 'em. Very satisfied with their work, we asked them to do exterior power wash, paint and wood panel repairs. Review of their exterior work will come soon.

I should have read the negative reviews more closely. We were very disappointed! Matthew talked a good talk at the initial consultation but didn't follow through on the execution. I was very specific about my expectations, even had drawings. Wow, we paid them that day as they were very anxious to get the check. We called for touch ups after the paint had dried and we had gotten on a ladder to more closely inspect the paint job and they refused to return because we had already paid in full! For the rest ...the garden gate turned out very well.

Painter did 1 room well,all walls nicely done then started on master bathroom. He did a little repair work on the ceiling where humidity had affected the paint job then left without finishing . No reason and lots of time left ???

Mr. Birkline was very easy to work with. We never met face to face (my schedule) but upon completion and inspection, I was very happy with work done. This is a rental property and tenant as well as neighbors were very complimentary.

Difficult time with trim, after several hours did finally finish. Painting needed touch up of which they came back to do.

I found him in my Angie's List book and when I contacted him, he called me back immediately. He knew what my financial situation was, and he came out and made me a deal. He will do the job, and all I need to do is buy him fuel and food for the week he will be working here. The cost is well with in my budget. He is very professional, personable, caring, responsive and everybody loves him. I have recommended him to other people here in my neighborhood.

Matt did the replacement of the wood. Very professional and polite. His Dad did the painting and I wasn’t pleased with his professionalism or attitude. He painted over holes that needed to be filled in with a filler and bubble places in the back door around the window. I ask if he could sand it down and make it smoother and he replied his son had all the sand paper with him so he scraped it off with a scraper. He wasn’t very prepared. He used my shoe to prop open the back door and got caulking on it. That wasn’t the proper thing to do without asking me. He acted like he was in a hurry to get a check for the paint and wood, he left without putting the patio furniture back in place.

I actually bid out the job to several vendors and Birkline was not the lowest bid. I picked them because they were the people that were going to paint the house. I like to know who is at my house and didn't have to worry about a crew showing up that I had not discussed the job with. Mat was very thorough explaining the quality materials they would use on the job. Bill has been in the business long enough to know exactly what color paint to match the current exterior as the old paint color was a Kelly-Moore color - that company is no longer in business. I didn't want to go through our HOA for approval for a new color. He left me with the formula to use in case I ever needed to order more. When the weather finally cleared up enough for them to start the job I wasn't available to be at the house during the day but since I knew who was coming to the house I felt secure letting them come and work on the outside without me being there and they were able to work around my schedule to get access to the inside to get the job completed. They pressure-washed, caulked and also repaired some areas that had rotted before painting. The house looks great now. When I get ready to have the inside painted they will be the first ones I call!
