BIG TEX AIR CONDITIONING

Called in to see what they charged for repair work and was told $72.50 the first half hour and $60 each additional 1/2 hour after. Technician was here for about 3.5 to almost 4 hours and was charged $750. I know it has been a while since I was in school but I know multiplication has not changed...Parts are under warranty so all I was supposed to pay for was labor. 4 hours would be $492.50. To top it off, I already paid $77 two days before for them to come and tell me what was wrong with it. I called in to speak to a manager and was told they would have someone call me since it was after hours. I asked to be transferred thinking I could at least leave a voicemail but was told the don't do that. I will try back again during business hours or have to go to the office. This is unacceptable!

The house is new and it is under a warranty, this company does the maintenance and check of the Air conditioning system. Lennar is the builder of the our house, thus they get this company to do the maintenance. they change our thermostat, they were very professional and they were very good.

They were very prompt and on time. They keep you informed and they're reasonable with the prices.

It wasn't that great. I have had awful experiences with them. I have had to call them numerous times, because they don't really correct the problem initially. One person comes and they don't know what they are doing, and then another person comes and they don't do this and that. I'm like oh my gracious. How many times does a person have to call. The service was under warranty. They were fine with price. They came on time. Not by choice, but because they have done all the work.

I purchased a home less than one year old. My home inspector found that Big Tex, which had installed the HVAC system, had forgotten to remove tape from the drain above the drip pan in the attic.  The builder asked the company to come to my house on 10/1/2013 to inspect the system since some rooms were much hotter than others.  That techincian was very professional and found that a construction filter had been left on the return duct in the master bedroom - another mistake by Big Tex which had installed the system.  He also found that several of the butterfly valves had not been opened completely.  He opened several but couldn't do so in the master bedroom because of the very high ceiling and said he'd ask that someone come out with a larger ladder.  At that point, things rapidly went downhill.  After my repeated calls, Big Tex finally sent out another technician  WITHOUT a larger ladder so he couldn't even reach the master bedroom ceiling.  He was extremely rude to my wife and myself, saying that "Some of the company's techicians are incompetent" (direct quote) and that the master bedroom butterfly vent was closed on purpose since the air conditioning system was certified Energy Star and that closed butterfly valves helped save energy.  He then refused to remove the construction filter in the master bedroom.  He was extremely rude and I would strongly advise against using the company.

He is very professional. He is very thorough. We have been very pleased with them. He is less expensive. I would use them in the future.

Even though I called at the last minute, they worked me in. A girl called me and said that they had not forgotten about me, they had a long list but they were going to come.

They didn't want to fix our unit at first but after much communication they finally decided to come out and look at our unit. They then found there was a leak and did go ahead and fix it.

Usually if I call Big Tex out, they come out right away. If they have you on the schedule for the day, they make sure they get to you no matter how long there day is, even if they have to come out at midnight! After the technician insulated our unit, he sort of checked out the system, as a whole and gave us some suggestions on how to get more out of our cooling systems and get them to last longer, at no additional charge.

They come out twice a year to check our furnace and A/C system to make sure everything is ok. They are very prompt after calling to remind them of service. They are very courteous and polite. Our system is always working fine.
