Jack's very competitive estimate included a two page explanation with pictures of why the proposed gate system was best suited for my needs. None of the other companies I met with were that thorough. Work began and was completed in the time I was told. On top of that, Jack is very genial.

Great! We love the opener. Have had it for two weeks and it's been great so far. Opens and closes in about 11 seconds. Jack was very responsive to all my questions. They showed up on time and we had an opener installed a few hours later.

Jack Raiffeisen, owner of Automatic Gate Company, was very responsive, pleasant and professional from the time of first contact through the completion of the job. I really appreciated his expertise and honesty. Jack was able to resolve the leaning post which no one else has been able to do in the past, and for a minimal cost. Upon arrival we discussed the "plan" and options for prolonged and optimal function of the gate and opener. Upon completion of the job, Jack explained the components of the control box, gate functions and programming of the keypad/remotes. Jack and Kevin together provided a quality service and product. We are very happy we selected Automatic Gate Company.

I would more then highly recommend Automatic Gate Opener. You deal directly with the owner of the company, Jack Raiffeisen and as a result you don't have to deal with the sales force from those other companies. Jack will clearly explain to you in great detail what he's doing and what your options are and additionally he is very easy to get ahold of, he is prompt and reliable. Additionally, as a result of his many years of doing his he developed an upgraded and stronger thicker steel mounting arm and meter control box I am the type of person who researches everything and I made a list of the 3 gate companies that I would call. Out of those 3, Jack was the only one who answered - the other two companies had receptionists who would have their "sales people" call me back. If you want someone who had extensive experience, who makes a great product and who provides excellent service Call Jack at Automatic Gate Company.

The work was done on time and professionally. About six months after the installation I had a power surge from lightening and they replaced the defective unit in the device under the warranty. I highly recommend.

First of all, I am very thorough in every major purchase I make.  After extensive research I chose Automatic Gate Co. because of their pride in quality workmanship and responsiveness and involvement of the owner.  I was not disappointed.  Before choosing Automatic Gate Co. Jack provided me a quote and I even went to his shop to take a look at the sample fences and how his operation is run. 
I chose to go with a 12 foot avalon fence with some additional fencing around the driveway to secure the area.  Jack personally came out to meet me at my home, install the posts and go through every little detail with me.  They then went back and customized the length, height, etc. of the fence to make it fit for purpose (custom job) for my driveway.  All of the other companies do not do this.  The other companies prefab all of the fence material and try to force fit it on site which results in a non-custom job.   
I couldn't be happier with Gate and am sure that Jack and Automatic Gate Co. will be around a long time to continue to answer questions and perform repairs or maintenance as required (although not much is required due to the quality of the product).  
Thank you Automatic Gate Co. for a great product and service.  I have no doubt this gate adds great value to my home and the additional security.

Jack was timely and responsive. Texted me a quote over the weekend after I sent him pictures of our gate. Arrived on time, and work completed was performed in a quality manner. Only slight issue was I forgot he quoted a cash price and I was not prepared to pay when work was completed, fixed with a fast trip to the ATM. Provided suggestions on future maintenance required to keep our gate running well.

Jack and Kevin came to my house yesterday, a saturday, as I requested. They were on time, they did a job that I could not possibly have done myself, and I was astounded at the work they accomplished in the short time it took - under 2 hours I think. They brought everything they needed. He took one look at the gate and knew exactly what needed to be done, and why the previous installation failed. He answered my questions about different types of openers.
They started by setting up a giant fan and umbrella as it was 102 degrees and this job was directly in the sun. In other words, they know exactly what they are doing. Then they heated and actually bent (to straighten the slight 3/8" offset) a 4" square gate support post. That aligned the gate. Then they welded it to the other 4" gate support. They removed the Liftmaster POS opener and made the resulting defect look like new. They installed the Nice actuator-style opener, programmed it and 3 remotes and a keypad, assured smooth operation, spent 15 minutes with me detailing operation, and cleaned the job site which included taking away the POS which is good as I hope I never see it again! He reviewed all maintenance like change the battery in 4 years, and showed me exactly how to program the keypad to change the code if I ever need to.
The gate operates smoothly and perfectly, noting it has been one day. We will see if it stands the test of time but it is a very solid, correctly done installation that is much different than the 3 prior ones I've had done on this gate, all of which have failed. Jack states this is a customized, more robust and sturdy system than others, and I believe him. It looks very stout.
Nothing is perfect, and if I didn't come up with something to criticize, then what use would a review be? There are 2 small adhesive-backed felt pads he put on the gate stop to cushion the closure. He pointed out that those might water-log and need to be replaced in about 2 years. He suggested I put some silicone sealant around them. Why he didn't just do that is a mystery.
So that's so minor it is unimaginably picayune, and I'm just trying to illustrate that this job was a close to perfect as any job could be, and I am very skeptical/particular. I've had many jobs of this type done on this house and others, and Jack's job was the best experience of them all.
He was on time, courteous, polite, respectful, prepared, knowledgeable, and probably most important of all, RESPONSIVE! He answers emails, texts, and phone calls. He has clearly achieved superior expertise in this field.

Excellent service. They came the same day, just before a holiday weekend.

My gate was installed by another company for the previous homeowner and after 5 years use, the battery died and the door keeps hitting the ground. I tried to contact automatic gate company and their reply is very fast! Jack and his son Sam did a great job for me. They replaced the battery, installed a new circuit board and a gate stopper, adjusted the post and welded the hinge. They also optimized my solar panel and antenna. The price is very reasonable and the quality of the work is Superior! I really appreciate their help and will not hesitate to recommend their business to other people!

The service was prompt and extremely professional.   I definitely would recommend the Automatic Gate Co. and the owner Jack & his son.    Communications to arrange the appointment started with an email which was quickly responded to then Jack texted me to inform me of his exact time of arrival.

On the phone, Jack was clear and.very informative about the service he could give me. He electronically sent a firm price within 10 minutes. In person, he arrived on time/early, installed a new electric gate opener, took away the old one and thoroughly explained/demonstrated the new system operation.
He delivered a good product at a very fair price with excellent customer service. I definitely recommend him.

This Company is an example of the and quot;little guyand quot; at it finest. Don't get me wrong, I have had the and quot;big guysand quot; handle some projects for me but in this case, Jack was the one who won the bid. I got 3 other bids and all were less expensive BUT SO WAS THE QUALITY OF WHAT THEY OFFERED. These guys are not going to be the least expensive but they are going to give you your money's worth and on a big project like this, I'm all about paying for the quality. Give him a chance to explain what you get for the extra up front cost.
I contacted Jack originally via Angie list and did not hear from him so I followed up with an email from his website. He immediacy called me to apologize for not responding but that he did not get the Angie list email. His process if bit different so don't be put off by that. He has a set price list that he will send you that will give you a preliminary estimate based on what you tell him you want so that you get an idea of what your job will cost. You can pick what you want from his website. Everything is listed on that price list so if you want to make any changes you can see how much the price will change - For example if you want to go with a different type gate, you will see how much that type gate costs vs the gate he quoted. Once you sign that work order he will set the date to finalize the measuring and the changes. I was a little caught off by this approach at 1st but it works. He has been doing this a long time so he knows what he is doing.
He is open to you going to the shop and seeing the process and has samples of the gates, fence and power openers. He even met me later at night between finishing a job and heading out to an appointment.
Jack and his team put their heart and soul into this business and it shows.
I did have to reach out to him to confirm dates. He is good about giving you realistic ranges on when he can do things but he did not follow up to let me know the dates he would be setting the posts and doing the final work. In all fairness, when I did text him asking when he would be here, he responded in less than 10 mins.
So just be aware, you may need to be proactive on that point. But that is a small thing compared to the quality of the work he does.
If you are are willing to pay a bit more for better quality, make sure you give Jack and his team a chance to bid on your job.

When I decided to have a driveway gate installed, Angie's list was the place I started researching. The Automatic gate co. came up with numerous great reviews, so I gave Jack a call.

To be quite honest, I was a little hesitant when Jack said we would make all the decisions about the gate and fence when he showed up to install the support posts. He doesn't go to the proposed sight to give bids but rather encourages potential customers to go to his web sight, automaticgatecompany.com to view different designs and options. He has hundreds of pictures of previous installs for you to view.

After looking at the website, I decided to go to his facility here in Houston to meet with him (by appointment) and see his operation just to make sure I would be getting a quality product and we were on the same page as to what I wanted.. His years of experience paid off with gate recommendations I may not have thought of on my own. I was very impressed with his operation and his forthright admission that he was running about 6 weeks behind. He hand builds each gate himself after it has been ordered. He makes no promises he can't keep and doesn't mislead you about how long it will take.

My driveway has a slight incline leading to the garage and I was told by another installer, giving me a bid, that the gate had to swing out toward the street because of that. I did not want it to swing outward, so when I talked to Jack about that, he chuckled and said it would absolutely not be a problem to swing in by adjusting the pivot points during installation. He was right, as the gate works beautifully and I could not be happier with the finished product. Once the price was decided at the beginning of the process, that was the final price at the end. No extra add-ons or additions of any kind.

I would not hesitate for a second recommending this company to install a gate and fence to any property.

Jack and his team were excellent.  The gate quality is wonderufl and the service was great.  We had a slight miscommunication as to scheduling, but Jack was extremely professional about it and made up for it by throwing in a few extras and upgrading my gate model at a discount.  I would definitley reccommend the Automatic Gate Company.

I was tied up all day having test run at the hospital. On my way home I saw that I had several voice messages. One was from Jack. He said he was in the area and wanted to know if I was going to be around. The message came in around noon. It was now after 5pm. As I pulled up to my house he was working on the gate with a blow torch. I asked him what he was doing, if he could explain to me so I could understand. He did not like me asking any questions. I wasn't to happy that he just showed up without my permission but at this point he had my gate down and I didn't have much choice. He said I owed him for fixing the gate! When he told me on the phone no charge. I asked him if he could show me know to reprogram the gate code because I had just wasn't sure how to do it. He didn't want to show me. He just asked what code I wanted and he put it in there. I tried to explain, I needed to do it so I would know how in the future. He started yelling at me that I should just look online and figure it out. The gate key pad now would not work. I asked him if maybe him using the blowtorch right under the key paid, melted the wires and caused a problem. He then starting yelling at me saying that I probably broke it and was not trying to blame him for it. I did not yell I calmly asked him to see if he could get it to work. He stormed off and took his stuff and told me to never call him again that he was doing me a favor coming out working on my gate!
