Hired Yancey N. Budd of Artistic Restoration to refinish three patio lounge chairs. My opinion? Here it isâ ¦ Bad experience. Poor workmanship. After delivery, I noticed underside slats and other areas were not sealed. Just bare wood. Mr. Budd claimed he sprayed three coats of marine-grade sealer. Doubtful. More like one coat and areas with no sealer at all. I contacted Mr. Budd. Let him know furniture had unsealed areas and part was missing. Sent pictures. Asked him to correct his work. No response. Did nothing to make it right. Lesson learned -- The reputation, ethics, honesty and integrity of a service provider is not just based on the work, but what happens afterwards when something goes wrong. Mr. Budd did nothing. So what does that say about his company? I do not recommend.

A table and six chairs were refinished, and I was very pleased until problems with repair of two chairs. One chair that had a cracked back appeared to be repaired but within a month opened again. When I called, he insisted it was glued and would charge again if I wanted it repaired. I examined the crack and could see only a very small dab of glue at the top edge with none on the other two inches of wood. So, I repaired it myself using wood glue applied to both surfaces of the entire crack. Being properly glued the chair has been in use for many months with no problem. Also, he did not repair the other chair that was a little wobbly.

He returned my furniture with the desk turning green, no handles on my furniture. No legs for dining room table. He lied!!!!, said he would return on next week never showed up. He will not answer his phone. Yes, we paid him. I would not recommend him to anyone, it was awful.

I would absolutely recommend Artistic Restoration! I asked Mr. Yancey to refinish my bedroom dressers and nightstands to coordinate with a new bed frame. The color change was a dramatic change, and took a lot of effort on Mr. Yanceyâ s part. He made every effort to get the color as close to my new color as possible, and the finishing result is great!

I chose Artistic restoration for my dining table and chairs restoration. They brought it back to life and made it look beautiful again. I asked Yancey to change the color and fix the scratches on the table top. He returned my table timely and it was perfect!!! You couldn't tell that it was ever damaged.

Artistic Restoration is a great company. Mr.Yancey is professional and his work is exceptional! This is my 2nd time to use this company and it won't be the last. The price is fair and the service is completed in a timely manner. Mr.Yancey is particular about his work and very precise in giving the optimal result. I recently had patio furniture restored and painted. The set looks better than it did when I first purchased it...I highly recommend this company. You won't be disappointed.

Quality workmanship at a fair price. When I completed the service request on Home Advisor, on Saturday, the in-home visit and quote was completed on Monday. Impressive response time. Mr. Yancy is very knowledgeable, courteous and personable. I recommend this company without reservation and have every intent to use their services again. JOB WELL DONE!

I hired Mr. Budd to touch up furniture damaged by 2 inches of Harvey flood water. He did a fantastic job and worked with me on prices so I could stay within my budget. I plan to hire him to refinish my dining table (inherited from my mom) top in the near future.

They do a great job. Yancy was informative, reliable and easy to talk to. Good bed side manor so to speak. No reservation about recommending them. Only reasons I didn't rank "5" across the board are (1) shade on finished product was darker than original and I thought there was enough original color to provide a target (but my wife really liked the darker color); and (2) one of the items was a vintage sewing machine cabinet that had sustained substantial damage during flood and had veneer peeling back. The re-finishing job looks great, but I should have had a franker discussion w Yancy about degree of veneer repair that could be done. I would have liked a little more and I'm sure any expectations could have been managed.

I hired Yancey to repair some furniture pieces that were in a flood and I gave him $700, I get a call from Yancey about a month ago and he said that he is done with the pieces and that someone stole his truck but he will get the furniture to me the following week and did not, that was the last time I talked to him

Very professional. My home flooded during Harvey. He was super busy but he was upfront about everything. The cost was reasonable. He was honest and did a very good job. He repaired and refinished My Thomasville furniture. Dining table, coffee table, buffet, armoire and bedroom side tables. I highly recommend him and I would use him again. Thanks Yancy!!!
