On time, professional and really good work.

As always, the work went well. Curtis Allen is always very professional and committed to doing the work needed (and only the work needed) at a reasonable price. I am very pleased with the result.

Very well.  Excellent work.  The crew was pleasant, hard working, on time, explained their work cleaned.

It was not a normal drain.  It was a very unique drain.  He understood what it was.  He was very confident and provided very quick response.  I did wait a while because he had responded to some Angie’s List special.  He was booked for the next two weeks when I called.

Curtis provided us with an itemized proposal for the work. Work took place over several months and was coordinated with the other trades working in the house. The quality of the work , Curtis's responsiveness and professionalism  were all excellent

We rent in a 1938 duplex. We love the house, but the realty management is terrible, and they always send the LEAST qualified contractors to "fix" things, and only when they break.
As a result, we had leaky faucets, a non-working waste disposal in the kitchen and rusted shut-off valves.
Allen Plumbing gave us a fair price, Curtis Allen himself came to the house, and TRULY fixed everything; including the VERY VERY VERY old plumbing fixtures we have. Apparently this is one of his specialties, and he had the parts readily available in his truck.
Very professional, punctual and efficient. I would certainly recommend him to anyone who has a house they care for.

Process was quick and painless! Curtis came out within a few days and looked at the work to be performed and gave an estimate. He was on-time, prompt, knowledgeable, and very courteous. His bid was much more reasonable than some comparable companies with a similar amount of experience. After the bid was accepted, work was started a few days later. Overall, the job was done on-time, quickly, and with care. Curtis and his other crew member cleaned up afterwards and did a very good job. I would highly recommend his services and I would definitely use him again in the future.

They did a complete re-plumbing of all the lines in that bathroom a few months earlier and i noticed the toilet rocked a bit when it was used.  They came out, re-set the toilet and didn't charge for the job

I had a blockage in my kitchen sink, which I could not clear.  A large plumbing company (name withheld) cleared the line & ran a camera through my drainage pipes. I was advised that I had issues with my sewer lines underneath my house & at my tap line & that I should have these issues fixed immediately.  The original quotes ranged from $10,500 to $14,000.  I spoke with my regular plumber who does not do this type of work & he suggested that I call & ask for Curtis at Allen Plumbing.  Curtis came to my home & spoke with me at length for an hour.  I asked him a myriad of questions & asked that he provide me with a competitive bid, which he did.  His original quote was $5876.00 including all of the permits.  This included "tunneling" underneath my house to cap off the old line that he discovered did not have to be done.  Mr. Allen re-priced the job at approximately $3900.00 which is a far cry from any other quote.  
As I mentioned before, Mr. Allen (Curtis) is very knowledgable, professional, courteous , prompt, trustworthy, patient & his prices are highly competitive.  He keeps his appointments & he keeps you apprised of every task throughout the project.  I have already recommended Curtis & Allen Plumbing to several friends & neighbors who are having similar problems.

Curtis Allen arrived for the scheduled meeting on time to provide me with an estimate to relocate the plumbing for a bathroom remodeling project I was hired to do. Of the three quotes I received, his quote was the most detailed quote I had received and the price was very competitive. I decided to hire him because it seemed he had the most responsible bid o the three. After the demolition was complete, he worked his schedule around a few delays I ran into and he also kept me very informed on his whereabouts and when exactly he would arrive on the scheduled day of work to do the new work.  The work was performed without delay and I am very pleased with the service he provided. 

Curtis is very knowledgeable about his work and willing to share with his clients.  He valued the interest of his clients on his work.  He takes pride about his work and profession.  I enjoyed working with him, and learned a lot via conversing with him.  He even made efforts to clean the woodfloor under the toilet, where was stained due to the water leak.  He took precaution to seat the toilet on the screws and wax, so the toilet will not move after settling.   Overall, he is professional, pleasant to work with, and I will call upon him next time whenever I have plumbing needs.

Curtis has performed a couple of jobs and most recently a sewer system repipe estimate. He is a straight shooter and will give you good advice. He does what he says he'll do for a good cost. I would have recommended him before now but didn't realize he was on Angie's list. Highly recommend!

The work was done very professionally with good communication of the options before the work was performed and prompt execution of the work.

Nice guy, good work, reasonable prices, he is now my permanent plumber.  He replaced an old dripping kitchen faucet, took the time to scrub away the old crud under the old faucet so the new one would look nice.  He replaced a drain pipe in the bathroom that a handyman had put in. The sink drain does not line up with the outlet, but the new one looks wonderful, like a work of art.

They did the work a few months ago.  They were great overall.  I would use them again in the future if needed.

I found this company on the List and it sounded like a mom and pop operation where they were very honest according to the reports on file.  I sent an email through the list website and I received an email from Mrs. Allen within a very short time.  I called her as she requested in the email.  We made an appointment for the next week with my only requirement being that it occur after 4:00.  On the day of the appointment, Mr. Allen called me a little before 4:00 and said that he was on his way.  I explained about the insurance issue and he said that the pipes all looked fine in the kitchen and I told him that he had to repair something so that I didn't have to mess with arguing with a jerky insurance company.  I also talked to him about replacing at 15+ year old garbage disposal and he said that it looked like a good model and didn't recommend that I replace it.  He also replaced the tubing (sorry, I don't know plumbing lingo) that runs to the faucets on the sink in my bathroom.  My toilet had been running for some time and I asked him to look at it.  He saw that a piece of plastic was blocking the flap and removed it and didn't charge me for it. 

The fact that he didn't find other stuff wrong and in fact, didn't recommend two repairs tells me that he is very honest.  He was very nice and professional.  When he was writing up my invoice, we chatted and it turns out he rescued a dog that his neighbors deserted and left tied in the yard to die.  Since I am an animal rescuer, that sealed the deal for me.

It went very well!  I have been loyal to the same plumber ( Flores Plumbing) for over 30 years.  Carlos Flores was semi retired and doesn't do tub installation so I needed to find another plumber to do the work. He gave me an idea and estimate of what it should cost in advance which was helpful. Looked on Angies List I got an estimate from a large plumbing company. Their estimate came in at $900 dollars over what Mr. Flores had told me to expect ! I found Allen Plumbing on Angies list also and liked the fact that they are a small family owned business in my neighborhood (Spring Branch). Curtis came out promptly and worked up an estimate which I was very pleased with and actually came in $100 under what Mr Flores had suggested. The tub installation  was a process that took several steps including sawing into the slab. All of it was done in a timely and professional manner and nothing unexpected occurred. I love my new tub and feel like I got more than my money's worth from Allen Plumbing.  I will refer Curtis to others and use his services again when I remodel our other bathroom with a walk in shower.  Since Mr. Flores is now completely retired, Curtis will be my new plumber for both my home and my rent house as well.

They've put in a new faucet, and they also repaired some things in my bathroom. They also fixed my tub drain, as well.

Curtis came before Christmas to provide an estimate on several jobs that had been low-priority, but needed to get done. While at the house he identified the leaking drain line, which was a bit of a pressing issue (as the bathtub was draining into the ground). We were able to get the work scheduled several days in advance to align with my schedule. Curtis came on time and took care of all of the needed repairs himself. He was professional, personable, and clearly knew what he was doing, and didn't cut corners with materials or solutions. He took care to explain what we needed to know about the repairs. We are very pleased with the service and the work performed, and will definitely be calling Allen Plumbing again!
