Around 10AM I called and spoke with Jeff who asked several questions over the phone, troubleshooting and getting an idea of what to expect. We set a time for 12-2 that day, and he arrived right at 12. He wasn't wearing a name tag or any identifying uniform, and did not introduce himself. This struck me as odd, but I saw his company truck and decided it was OK to let him in and get to work. When I opened the door he did ask if it was OK where he parked so as not to interfere with the postal delivery, so I assumed he was just distracted and it was a rare mistake. Jeff immediately opened the freezer and started troubleshooting, eventually deciding the machine was likely low on freon. He also pointed out how dirty the coils were due to my never cleaning them, and explained a bit about this model of refrigerator. While he was adding more freon, he used a long brush to clean the coils and even vacuumed them up while waiting for the freon to fill. This was nice service beyond what he probably needed to do. He then pulled the ice maker out, checked it over, and put it back double checking the connections. We then talked about what to expect to know if this worked or not. Right then we heard the water run, so I felt it would work. He left around 1:45, and later that afternoon/evening I had ice. I was impressed to get this handled so quickly. The cost seems a little high but I don't know what freon runs. I mentioned Angie's List but received no discount, but they didn't have any such coupons posted so I wasn't expecting one. Overall I'm impressed and would call Jeff again should any issues arise in the future.

Receiving the wrong circuit board meant Thanksgiving without the refrigerator but the holiday was the prime reason it took so long to get the right part.

I have used them for refrigerator repair and dish washer repair. The cost was over $100 under $200, about 150. For the time it took him and what he had to do, it seemed reasonable.

Called Allen Repair this morning, hoping someone could come out today. I called around 8:15, they said someone could be there between 10 - 12,  closer to 10. They arrived at 10 and diagnosed the problem, within 30 minutes my dryer was working again. Jeffery did a great job, its nice to know that Allen Repair is around, I was amazed at the turnaround time to get our dryer working again!

Called at 9 am, was promised time between 12-2 pm,came at 12:20. Fixed machine before 1 pm. I am going to use this company again when needed. We have just moved here and I called Angie's list to change our location. The person who answered my call said she could send me a list of providers to save me time. I got the list in a few minutes with the ratings. I was saved a lot of time and got great service by both Angie's List and Allen's Appliance repair. The service call is 35, but since machine could be repaired, The cost went back toward the repair. I am a happy camper!!!!!!!!!

Called Tuesday at 8AM for repair on Kenmore stove that was having a problem with the oven not turning off.   Technician was there at 9am same day as promised.   Control board was bad, had to be sent out to be refurbished ( $ 350.00)  as new ones are no longer available. Technician was polite, professional, knowledgeable, and provided me with detailed alternatives and let me decide if I wanted to repair current stove or consider purchasing a new stove.  Since this is the only issue I have ever had with this stove and I really like the stove, I decided to repair the stove and the part was removed and will be sent out for refurbishing,.  I was worried since this would take a week or two to get the part back and trying to figure out how I was going to cook in the interim.   The Technician informed me that I would still be able to use the cooktop once the board was disconnected. .  That was great !

Then I mentioned to him that the ice maker in the fridge has not worked for a long time.  He had one on the truck and said he would replace it now for just  the cost of the icemaker which was $ 100.00, he said they carry those because they are a common item that goes bad on fridges.  So I had him replace the icemaker.

Then I mentioned to him I was having problem with Kenmore washer coming off balance, he check that out, discovered problem and ordered those parts, charging me only for the parts ( $150.00) also and will put them in when he comes back to put the board in the stove.

So for a total of $ 600.00 (plus tax)  I have  3 appliances that now work correctly.  I am one happy customer !!

I will definitely use this company for all of my appliance repairs and highly recommend them to anyone and everyone that is in need of a honest, respectable, reliable,  courteous, professional company for appliance repairs.   It was an absolute pleasure to do business with this company.

Mr. Allen replaced the heating element which he had on his truck!  Yeah!  And he even gave me a discount for using Angie's list.  Incredible!  As if that wasn't good enough, when he found out that the problem with the washer was just a clogged drain, he repaired it for free!  Awesome service, super friendly, very professional, and service above and beyond anything I've ever experience before.  I started looking for other appliances that needed repair.  Love these guys.  We are customers for life!

Came on time and as scheduled. Examined the dryer and identified cause as a faulty timer switch (dial on top of unit). Part had to be ordered. Returned with part within 2 days and installed. No issues. Professional. Part was kinda a pricey.

Our washer had developed a tendency to create a little puddle of water underneath after several washes. After we eliminated the hoses as a possible source, we called Allen's Appliance Repair to schedule someone to come out, diagnose the problem, and fix it. They scheduled a repairman to be at our house between 10:00am and 12:00N, and at 10:00am, Jeff Anderson called and said he was running just a bit late and would be at the house around 10:30am. He arrived on the dot, and immediately started getting the information he needed to find the source of the puddle. After testing the hoses again -- just in case -- and then tilting the washer to see if the bottom of the tub had a leak, he narrowed the search to a possible overflow or splash-over from the tub itself. He tested this theory several times and each time there was a tiny splash-over at the soap-cup, which led to a little drip down the inside of the tub housing. After cleaning the soap cup inside and out with denatured alcohol, he tested again, and it appears that the problem was a slightly blocked area where the water entered the soap cup, causing the water to splash over the drain onto the ring at the top of the tub. A few drops from each load would fall to the floor creating a small puddle. Watching Jeff work was like watching a CSI forensic scientist! It was a real pleasure. He would try something to resolve the problem, test it, and then move on to another possible solution. Finally, cleaning the openings and the soap-cup appears to have solved the problem, and he showed us how to raise the top of the washer (not just the lid) to clean the cup and the openings ourselves, and recommended we do it every few months to prevent buildup from the detergent. After he finished, he put the washer back in its proper place in the laundry room.

In addition to the painstaking attention he paid to getting a solution to our problem, Jeff was courteous and kind and not reluctant to answer the questions we put to him, which no doubt he gets at every home he enters. He answered them without making us feel stupid, which must have been almost as much a challenge as our washer problem. The entire process took just over an hour, and we feel the service charge was more than reasonable, judging by what Sears charged us for a much easier job the last time we used them. We will definitely call Allen's Appliance Repair again if we need large appliance repair, although, as I explained to Jeff, I really do hope I never see him again, except maybe at the supermarket.
