This is an extremely hard situation to judge. The straight facts are: we brought the TV in for repair on July 17, 2007. We received it back September 10, 2007. This guy charges a much better diagnostic fee (if I remember, they are scaled for TV size) compared to other shops; like the others it is paid toward final repair cost if you have work done. The reason I would not hire this company again is because I would strongly consider finding a "factory authorized" service center due to the difficulty obtaining parts (2 months in shop) and my not knowing if the lengthy delays were a result of provider not being properly trained on/familiar with my brand. I also did not appreciate that I had to continually call him every 2 weeks to find out what was happening. However, overall this guy I feel is honest and honorable. This was a no-win situation for the both of us: I probably would've been better investing in a LCD TV; he probably lost money on my repair.
Description of Work: Repaired 27" CRT TV that had a malfunctioning tuner (would display a picture from DVD player, but not from cable or antenna). He started by replacing the tuner, then replaced an IC (integrated circuit), then finally the entire control chassis (circuit board). When we brought it in we asked approximately what replacing the tuner would cost, we were given estimate of $100-$150. Paid the diagnostic fee, got a diagnosis of dead tuner, price $175. We okayed the work. That didn't completely solve problem, needed to replace another part ($45), would not charge us labor. We okayed. That still didn't solve problem. He replaced entire chassis at no additional cost. TV now works.

THE PRICE WAS OKAY, THE WORK ON THE TELEVISION DID THE JOB, AND EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT THEY TOOK A LITTLE WHILE TO CALL ME BACK, EVERYTHING WAS FINE. OVERALL, IT WAS A GOOD EXPERIENCE.
Description of Work: ALFA TV FIXED THE TUNER PROBLEM WITH MY PANASONIC. I HAD A VERY OLD TELEVISION SET. THEY JUST NEEDED A COUPLE OF DAYS TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM.
