driveway gates
+ -1 moreBought a new home. Driveway gate began beeping. Called manufacturer (in FL) and the gave me the number of a company in Houston that services their product. That company came out and looked at gate and equipment and said they thought I needed a new "board" ($600) or could replace the whole mechanism for $1500. (He kept emphasizing how old the system was and that there were better brands out now.) I declined. Charge for this: $85. Against called the manufacturer. This time got the name of ALEX FENCE COMPANY. They came out right away. Did a troubleshooting and found nothing wrong with the board...or anything else. The problem is the box where electricity goes to the gate equipment. I need to have an electrician out to check that. Charge: $80. ALEX FENCE COMPANY was prompt, courteous and helpful. The part I really liked about them: honest and didn't try to sell me something I didn't need.
