I couldn't be more satisfied with the repair service performed by APM. Owner (Angel) made an onsite call to diagnose the issue. He identified the root cause to be a specific circuit board. He recommended taking the TV back to his shop to order the part (circuit board) or, more likely, repair the existing board. A replacement circuit board was no longer available from Sony so Angel spent the time to isolate/replace the defective component on the existing board. He charged me for time and cost of component which was comparable to the cost of a replacement board had it been available. Total repair was $400 which included the onsite service call and pick-up/delivery of TV to shop. This was a deal because it resurrected a favorite TV that has excellent picture quality. What set the repair service apart in my mind was Angel's knowledge/experience with the Sony TV he was repairing. Before contacting APM, I had another TV repair shop (highly-rated Angie's list) make an onsite service call. The other repair tech similarly diagnosed the issue for $80. However, he recommended NOT spending any more money trying to repair the TV because he felt that, based on his experience, the circuit board would very likely fail again due to some other issue with the TV -- which had caused it to blow in the first place. He explained that it was not possible to run the full battery of diagnostics on the TV due to the fact it would not power-up. Therefore, there could be additional defective parts or other issues that would cause the circuit board to fail again. He suggested trying to sell the color engine on ebay (since there was a real demand for them) and move on. The repair tech was professional and knowledgeable but my gut told me that was he was mistaken. While APM/Angel acknowledged the dilemma of not being able to fully test the TV until the faulty circuit board was resolved, he felt very confident the board was the only issue based on his knowledge of known issues and otherwise reliability of the TV. He said he would risk spending the money on the repair if it were his TV. I trusted his professional judgement and I'm thankful I did. Out of fairness to the first repair shop, I waited over a year to write this review to ensure the circuit board did not blow-out again. TV has worked like new ever since the APM repair with no issues. Woohoo!!

I called APM after my Samsung 46 inch TV just lost its picture one night (after 5 years of ownership). I had sound, but no picture. After figuring out the problem online (a burnt out lamp), I called to see if someone could come out and take a look. The person answering the phone was so cheerful, responsive and professional. She scheduled me with an appointment, explained all the procedures they use (ie how much I would be charged etc). The technician came out to my home and was so prompt and professional -- even after I showed up to my house late for the appointment (he called and agreed to meet me when I returned). After looking at my TV, he agreed it was the lamp. He ordered the part and returned several days later to install and fix. It did the trick! My TV was back to normal!

Cris was excellent and most helpful. She had a tech call with an estimate ASAP. I chose noy have the repair done but would defintely use APM in the future.

Brought in TV late in afternoon, got a call abt 10 am next morning telling me what was wrong w/it. Was ready for pick @ 1 pm that day.

I called APM Electronics to inquire if they could look at my television to see if a repair was possible and feasible. They were very nice and told me up front that they had an estimate fee, but that would be applied to the cost of the repair. I dropped the television off on a Friday morning. The employee on duty brought my very heavy TV in from the car and was extremely nice. He called with an estimate prior to performing the repair, per my request, later that day. I agreed to the repair and he told me I could pick my TV back up that same day. When I did pick the TV up on the following Monday, the same gentleman was there, put my TV back in my car for me. The TV works beautifully, the repair was less than $100. I would highly recommend APM Electronics.

I called A P M Electronics asking to schedule a service call. When I described the problem over the phone they told me what they thought the problem was and suggested that I could probably correct it myself. They were right. While I didn't actually have them come out this time I really appreciate their honesty and professionalism. I'll definitely use them next time.

The fan cooling the cable card failed to work after Hurricane Ike. They came to inspect and check the fan and found no problem with it. They reconnected the wires to the fan and it worked again. So, that was not much for them to fix. The price is a bit steep for a job like this. However, I guess I did not have a choice because I could not fix it myself. $55 was for the call out and initial inspection and the rest would contribute to the repair if my TV breaks down in the next 30 days. Of course, if my TV behaves, then I will get nothing back. The company was responsive, punctual and professional. However, the price is a bit on the high side.

They are an exceptionally nice and efficient company to work with. From the initial call to the final call, the service was professional, timely and the cost was exactly as quoted. Their proficiency in fixing LCD TVs was apparent from the first contact. I highly recommend this company.

Called regarding trouble with 53" Pioneer Rear Projection Television and got a date (3 days in advance) and a commitment to call the morning of the appointment to verify a 2 hour time frame window. Received the call on the day of the appointment at 8AM and a commitment to be here between 10AM and Noon given. Technician arrived promptly at 10:30AM along with a helper. Both were extremely courteous and conscious of repairing in home at the lowest possible cost. Though he was confident the issue was resolved, he guaranteed the work and said if for some reason the work did not fully resolve the issue, he would return and make further repairs while using monies already paid as a credit towards other charges.

GOOD PRICE, GOOD SERVICE. SMALL TV, WAS TAKEN INTO SHOP.
