SK SK Construction

Sat Kartar Singh Khalsa (a.k.a. SK SK) did an excellent job with our repair job. SK gave us an estimate and began work the same week. He works alone and is very focused as he works. Whenever he found new areas of rotten wood or termite damage, he notified us and let us decide whether to repair and replace or not. We like being involved in the decisions, so he would explain to us how he planned to do each segment of the multi-faceted repair job. We had one problem during the job that SK solved with a unique solution. Some of the cedar siding boards were 2 stories tall, but only the bottom 2 feet near the ground were rotten. It seemed a shame to replace the whole 2 story siding. So we had SK cut what looks like a ?chair rail? about 3 feet off the ground on that wall. He cut the whole wall at 3 feet, and replaced the bottom 3 feet. In between the upper, old boards and the lower, new boards, he created what looks like a chair rail. He installed z-flashing behind it so that rainwater wouldn?t get in behind the rail. It looks quite nice because the ?chair rail? is the same height as the picture window on that wall. It looks like it was designed to be there. Overall, we are very pleased with the final outcome. The handiwork is so well done, the corners match so perfectly, every small detail of the new dormer window is pleasing to the eye. SK is also a sculptor, and he brings a certain love of beauty to his work. We highly recommend him.
