John Shrader is licensed as a Registered Sanitarian (TX DofHS 2307), On Site Sewage Facility Installer (TCEQ 22461), and Maintenance Provider (TCEQ 0408), Pest Management Company (TDA 11804) Pest Control Operator (TDA 41132), Certified Food Safety Professional (NEHA 262), and Environmental Health Specialist (NEHA 83404). We strive to not only provide a valuable service to protect you, your family and the environment from disease transmission, but also to providing the education that helps you to understand the why and how of our services. It is our belief that by understanding the why and how, you will be better able to protect yourself and embrace the importance of environmental health and the damage we can do if we are unaware. By preventing disease and contamination of our environment we can all live healthier, happier lives. In our pest management services we strive to minimize pesticide application by positively identifying the pest, knowing its biological characteristics, impeding its entry into your home or business, and trapping and monitoring for activity. Our On Site Sewage Facility services are committed to using approved and listed materials, rather than simply patching things together with whatever is available that may be similar but has not been proven. Our Food Safety Programs are committed to teaching food handlers the importance of their work in order to better protect the public they serve from careless practices that lead to food born illness. We are happy to provide community service presentations related to our fields of expertise. John Shrader has been committed to Environmental and Public Health Protection since attaining his BS in Environmental Science in 1984.

The bill was not itemized. There was not a separation of the charges for the labor (including number of hours) and parts for replacing the cholorinator. Part of the labor charge including driving time to get the part which was apparently charge at $125.00 per hour. There was no itemization of the fee for the driver of the waste tank.
The charge of $125.00 an hour is outrageous in my opinion. I was not made aware of the labor rate prior to the job. It should be noted that I (the customer) assisted with the digging out the broken chroninator and assisted in installing the new part. The owner stated that he took my assistance into consideration when giving me the total bill.
4/18/15 Update: It should be noted that I was completely satisfied with the quality of the original service provided in a friendly and professional manner. My issue was the extreme charge for labor.
Mr. Shrader contacted me after he became aware of my issue with the bill. He offered to provide free inspections in the
future or a refund check, whichever I preferred. The service or refund would be valued to the point of my satisfaction, thus making the previously performed job more reasonably priced. I received a refund check which was an amount we both felt was fair.
Due to Mr. Shrader?s contacting me to address my issues and attempting to resolve these issues to my satisfaction, I would recommend doing business with Environmental Health Specialties, Inc.
