two coats of clear poly down.
They installed all the granite in the kitchens around the walls and one big Island in the center.
The granite had to be spliced but they matched the Granite up and glued it together and polishied it out and you can not tell were the splice is.

We worked out a schedule for the tile installation around the installation of new kitchen cabinets.  One crew member came the first day as scheduled to remove the old tile and cut back the carpet in the adjoining family room.  This enabled us to expand the kitchen flooring.  We then replaced the old kitchen cabinets the next few days and scheduled a second crew to come back and install the new tile.  The installers did most of the tile on a Friday and came back Saturday to finish the tile.  We scheduled a separate crew to come about a week later to re-stretch some of the adjoining carpet.  The installers worked efficiently and always cleaned up any debris, so we were very satisfied with the results.

They were fabulous to work with too and I should have gone with them for the tile.  It was inexpensive.

Their prices were very good. He worked with us when I negotiated with him and he offered a good price compared to other companies I have spoke with. I have no complaints with the work they did. Everything was on time and performed as scheduled. They put down protection while completing the work and even cleaned up well after the job was complete. After the walk-through, there were some chips that we did not notice. They came out and filled them in without any trouble at all. I would recommend them to anyone in terms of pricing and communication.

It went exceptionally well and their price was reasonable. I liked the personable approach of the owner when I met him and had a conversation with him. I liked the store manager where we purchased the granite and the backsplash. They were prompt and courteous. They cleaned up their mess and they did it in the time that they projected it would take. They came out and measured the countertops and walls relative to the granite and the backsplash. When they finally came to do the job in my home, everything was prefabricated with the exception of some minor cuts that they did on the site to the granite. I am already looking at using them again.

As above. We had them redo one piece. As we wanted the lighter piece of granite at a different location.

Granite & Tile Outlet
Mr. James Brede
3180 Justin Road/FM 407
Highland Village, TX 75077
March 19, 2013
Dear Mr. Brede,
Our counter tops and tile backsplash were completed last Thursday and Friday. While we have no complaints about the counter tops and are quite pleased with the outcome, we are extremely unhappy with what occurred on Friday during our tile and plumber visit.
We waited from 10:00a until approximately 4pm when the plumber and tile ‘team’ arrived. Having called 3 other times and being told “on their way” we finally contacted David about 3:30p to say we would hire our own plumber and deduct the cost from our invoice. He managed to get the plumber there in less than 30 minutes, after waiting nearly all day.
The “team” was a single tile man who spoke very little English and his young son who was not really able to assist. No 2nd
team ever showed, as David promised at one point. Consequently, the tile job was not completed until 11:34 that night. The installer was clearly exhausted and left pencil marks on several tiles that we are unable to clean; broken, cut tiles in the front yard; grout that needed cleaning on the count tops and floor and several unattached electrical outlets. We are also unsure if we should lay a line of silicon or some other sealer along the counter top as it is likely to get wet, affecting the sand-based grout.

Frankly, we would have considered you to remodel our master bath based on the workmanship, but have little confidence in your
ability to fulfill contracted jobs on a reasonable timeline.  Since we located your company via Angie’s List, we are disappointed that our experience did not live up to the reviews we read.
We look forward to your response regarding our service issues.
Sincerely,

Keith Quigley (Teresa Brammer)

Note: we have never gotten an answer from anyone at the company and even though the tile and the countertops look great, we would not consider using them again unfortunately due to the way we were treated on that Friday. It was both frustrating for us and unprofessional of the people at Granite & Tile Outlet, in our opinion.

David was very responsive, getting back to me on the same day as the initial contact. We worked mostly through email and he was able to give me a very quick quote when I faxed him a sketch and the measurements of the counter tops. When we went to pick our slab and had questions on prices David responded quickly. The installation was completed in one day and the workers were very careful to protect our floors and furniture. They also did a good job cleaning up the house and the drive way where the finish work was completed.Overall I found David very easy to work with and would recommend him to anyone. Job well done.

The project lasted over a period of about two years.  All of the sales staff and installers were extremely professional and easy to work with.  Any imperfections were quickly fixed to our satisfaction.  We would highly recommend Granite and Tile to our neighbors.

This company was great! David did a good job coordinating the contractors and putting together the estimates. They came out and build the fram on a Wednesday and by the following Monday evening the granite was installed! Lowes and Home Depot were quoting a 4-5 week lead time, but David got it done in less than a week! They came out the next day and installed the back splash. We will definitely use them again when we are ready to upgrade our bathrooms. We had them install New Venetian Gold Granite.

It was excellent. We asked them to finish in one day and they did by staying until 11 PM. The fireplace was a challange and we knew that, because it was already tiled. They had to install on top of that and made it look beautiful. The granite we picked was Juparana Bordeaux, which has a lot of movement in it, so templating and matching was important. They did a superb job in that.

Final outcome was very good. But they need to improve on customer communication and responsiveness, and attention to incidental details.  James was our sales rep but we never heard from him again after we signed the contract.  Their granite person would take  two to three days to return calls.  We had no idea how much dust the tile repair would generate.  if they had told us ahead of time , we would have covered furniture and cleared off shelves. Instead, we had to spend a lot of time vacuuming furniture and dusting individual items that were on our shelves.  Actually, I think that the tile people could have done a better job of containing the dust, but we've never had work like this done before, so what they did may be standard.
Other issues:  The people who installed the back splash didn't reset the electrical outlets, so we had to call them back.  The sink connection sprung a leak the first night, so the plumber had to come back the next day to fix it.  The bathroom tile installers didn't reconnect the toilet properly so the connection started leaking.  They came out again, and still didn't get it right..  I finally called my own plumber who replaced the flexible tubing that connects the toilet to the wall.  Granite and Tile agreed to deduct the cost from my final bill.
On the plus side, the cabinet person they use does excellent work as does the company they use to clean and seal the grout, and the granite and tile look good.

I won't use them again. My sister and all her neighbors used them and they did a wonderful job of tiling. The first group that came out here said that my floor was not leveled. Before I know it, they poured a layer of concrete on my floor. They didn't bother to tell me that they spent $1000 in concrete plus what it cost to put it down. I wasn't happy with that which I refuse to pay for. Then they put in the tile. I got up in the middle of the night to look at it. You literally could trip on it. It wasn't leveled. The next morning I asked them to take it up, they said that they couldn't without breaking the tiles. When the store opened I called. About 5 minute later they were taking up the tile. I said "I thought you couldn't do that". They said "Well we can do it, we'll just break a couple of them". The guy who runs the store called and yell at them.  They said that the reason was that my dogs walked over them which was not true. They finally admitted that they didn't set them in right. So they take it all up and come back the next day to do it again. They did the same thing. I just said that I couldn't let them do this and that they needed to stop. I called the store and said that I couldn't let them lay this tile because they were doing a horrible job. He said that he would send another crew. That was on Wednesday and on Friday morning he was going to send me another crew. He called and said "I think there was something wrong with these tiles". He said that they brought him 4 of the tiles. This ticked me off because they didn't ask me if they could take 4 of my tiles. I said "Obviously they searched to find one that were bad because they're not". So he said that he was going to send the other guys out there. So he sent the other guys out here and they did a wonderful job. I couldn't ask for a better job in the end. What I had to go through to get it was ridiculous though. Since they laid that concrete, my refrigerator no longer fits under my cabinets. My dish washer is to this day still in my garage. I have 2 doors that drag and scrap the tile I just laid because they raised the floor so much that the door won't shut.

No problems, tear out and replace went well.  Workers cleaned up each day, laid paper from the door to the bathroom.  Very prof.  Had some good ideas that were included. Price was a little high, but the work was done very well.  Would use them again.
