Expert Remodeling

I had my Grandmother's house completely gutted and rebuilt. Expert Remodeling(Daniel Mathews) gave us a quote that was high but acceptable for the task at hand with the understanding that nearly all our over run allowance was used. He doesn't mark up any materials. His money is made from labor, he may pay a helper minimum wage but he might charge you $25.00 an hour for that helper. So the more employees on your job the more money he makes. Labor on our job was totally out of control. He hired the cheapest subcontractors available. The AC man was drunk on the job! Three weeks into the job without warning i received a new bid of $10,000.00 more! I reluctantly agreed since there were some unexpected problems with the house. Two weeks later I get another new bid! for $17,000.00 more dollars. I flipped. He was was told not to expect more money until the job was complete and we were happy. That's when he went on a two week vacation to Florida and spent the money I had given him. The subcontractors were never supervised. We were never kept informed about the budget or what anything was costing us. He told the electricians to get the cheapest fixtures Lowes had. At the end of the job he tells us we owe $20,000.00 more! and that the subcontractor's bills are my responsibility. Now I'm stuck with paying these people twice for a substandard job. I hope this review helps someone avoid the heart ache this man has put us through.
