I see that they have grass around where they can take the dog to a park area so they can walk the dog, good boarding, staff are professional. They have someone there 24 hours a day looking after the pets. They have a good receptionist, good care. The dogs came back not anxious, but happy.

They are very good with the animals. They are very calm and they enjoy what they do. Overall I would say it is good environment for animals. I have a very good comfort level there.

There are cheaper place around town, but there are times that you get what you pay for, and it is worth a little extra expense. The Palms, for us, is deffinitely one of those expenses.

We had not had the opportunity to go on any kind of vacation or trip in several years. An occasion came up that we needed to go out of town for a several days, but we have 3 pups that are like our children and all of which have special diets and need regular medication.

Trying to find a place that was willing and able to provide the kind of care our pups need, and that we felt at ease that they would, was not easy.

The people at the Palms did.

Besides being friendly, professional, paitient, and most important truly seemed to care for our pups (almost as much as we do). The people at the Palms Pet Resort and Spa really stepped up and went above and beyond for us and our pups.

When we completed our trip, and came to pick up our pups. I got a nice surprise. Our pups were happy to see us and go home, but definitely not what I had expected. I had exepected them to be bouncing off the walls. Instead, I found 3 happy, calm, even relaxed dogs paitently waiting for us.

We will not hesitate to ask the Palms to look after our pups again.

They do a good job with the haircut and love the animals.

Playcare. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable and display a true sense of passion for pets.

We have left both our goldens at this facility many times and have always been very pleased with the quality of the care. On November 23 we left our golden for boarding and a bath and picked him up mid afternoon on the 26th. We noticed he was unusually agitated and drooling, but the caregiver told us he had just come from grooming and been drinking a lot of water and had gotten wet. During the evening the dog was asking to go outside every 15 minutes and was in obvious distress. Since our vet was closed for the night we took the dog to the Emergency clinic where X rays revealed that he had a foreign body in his stomach. He was kept at the ER overnight and the next morning we took him to our regular vet. The vet performed an endoscopy and removed two chunks of the dog's leash, each about 1 and an half inches long.
The bills for the ER and the vet totaled $1300.00. We sent copies of the ER doctor's report, our vet's report and the bills to Mr. McGhee at The Palms, requesting that they cover these costs. Mr. McGhee responded that they were not responsible, that it could not possibly have happened while the dog was there, and they were not going to assume any financial responsibility for the bills. He suggested that it was our fault and the dog had eaten the leash after discharge, which does not make any sense since the dog was already agitated and hyper salivating when we picked him up.
The Palms is a beautiful facility and the staff there is very good, but even the best procedures can sometimes go awry, mistakes do happen, which Mr. McGhee firmly refuses to acknowledge. It's disappointing that he chose to blame the victim instead of allowing for the possibility of error on the part of his staff.

Only problem with this kennel is that they only let the dogs outside for 5 mins. at a time, and alone. I'm used to having similar sized dogs let outside to play as a group. My dog does not like to be outside by himself - needs companionship.

Stellar staff! They are extremely friendly and genuinely care about your pet. Extremely clean facility, highly recommend it!

They are pricey, but I guess you pay more for the good service. I like the people there, they care for my pets, and they like to spoil them.

I had my shih tzu groomed at The Palms Resort and Spa this morning for the first time and am very pleased. I chose The Palms because they do require all pets have their vaccinations up to date and will not make an appointment until they visually see the certificate from the veterinarian. The atmosphere is very appealing, clean and professional. The staff is friendly and upon your first visit you meet with a groomer to discuss what services you would like for your pet. The groomer explained the services and had a display on the wall showing the lengths of how long the hair would be after the cut which was very helpful. All services were performed to my satisfaction and we have been home now four hours and no more itching and my little girl is happily asleep in her bed under my desk as I type this review. I dropped her off at 8:15 and she was done by 11:45 which is I really appreciate. Job well done!

They are very good at pets. They have great staffs, and they do their best in taking care of the pets. They have an excellent place.

The staff is wonderful. The groomer that we use is terrific and they have been consistently good with the care of the dogs and the grooming.

From the time we initially called The Palms and asked for general information through our final check out after boarding, this entire staffs' professionalism and commitment to our fur-baby's welfare was exceptional AND consistently top-notch in every way. We are very, very fussy pet owners and we found every aspect of the facility, quality of care, and 'can-do', positive attitude towards us and our dog as flawless. We have stayed in 'people' 4-star hotels and not been treated as well as we were treated here. They had no idea because we were not certain how long we needed to board our big fellow nor what his special needs may be as it became longer that we needed to keep him boarded. Everyone across the board that we interacted with at The Palms went above just doing their job and looked out for our dog, keeping us well-informed of his needs and well-being. The additional convenience and safety net of having an exceptional Vet Clinic associated with The Palms (Hill Country Animal Clinic) made it all the better for us and our dog, as we knew he had wonderful medical care if he needed it available without leaving the compound Overall, we got MORE than our money's worth in service and compassion and efficiency. Everyone there was a poster-person for what you should expect in a boarding facility. Unbelievable. GREAT JOB by everyone!

I called one day ahead and was told to bring her in. They inventoried her medications, bed and snacks, and checked to see if I wanted her groomed immediately or at the end of her stay. The facility is very attractive, and seems to have good living conditions for the animals being boarded there (though I did not actually visit the boarding area). There is an outdoor exercise area, and, as I understand it, an inside area as well. There is an adjacent veterinary clinic, run by a family member.

We have used them 5 times. We have two pampered miniature Dotson’s, which are like our family. I could never put them in a kennel, so I have looked at every place in San Antonio and they are by far the nicest. This is the only place I would recommend. They are terrific and are a little more expensive, but definitely worth it. They stay in a suite and get play time everyday and you can get a little less expensive care. The suite has glass doors and you can look at the fountain and it also has music.

We have used The Palms to board our two dogs several times and have been very pleased with their services. On one occasion we were running late and the Manager said that he would wait for us to get there. We also take our dogs to the Doggy Playcare, which they really love. The Playcare offers them the opportunity to socialize with other dogs and it also wears them out so we take home two very tired dogs at the end of the day!!

They aere amazing! One of the dogs got sick during the stay. They tried to reach us but could not so they called the contact we left. She went to visit and she said they questioned her thorougly before she was allowed to the back for a visit. They decided my dog was not getting better and took him to the vet. That proably saved his life. He was seriously ill. Our other dog stayed the entire time at the pet resort and was well taken care of. I highly recommend these people.

Horrible!

Palm s Pet Resort has many options for your dog. My dog likes being boarded here because he gets to play with other dogs. The place is nice and clean and there is a lot of space for them. I would take him there more if it wasn t that expensive.
