Matt Butler and Doug Ford are horrible and should never be used to build anything. They do not honor their contracts. They completed building my house 6 months behind schedule. I move in once it was completed and immediately started noticing numerous defects (cracked driveway, missing window pane, cracked masonary in the stone archways, exterior doors not shutting properly). I contacted the Stonewall Custom Homebuilders many time via email, phone, and had a face-to-face meeting with Matt Butler. He was provided photos and the results of a home inspection report. I received emails from Matt Butler promising to get the defects resolved. After numerous stall tactics from Matt, I hired a lawyer and began litigation. I also hired a professional engineering service to conduct a comprehensive home inspection. Besides the defects noted earlier, the engineer also discovered missing beams in the roof framing, poor drainage around the house, shifting foundation (I found out the foundation never passed inspection and was poured before the inspector to re-inspect to ensure deficiencies were corrected), electrical problems, etc. To date, none of the defects were corrected. Matt Butler refuses to address the issues and answer any calls from my lawyer. His reputation is questionable at best. This experience has been a nightmare. I would never recommend Matt Butler, Doug Ford, or Stonewall Custom Homebuilders to anyone.
