Alma and Lawrence were top notch throughout the process. They were specially helpful because both of them speak Spanish and took the time to understand our needs and concerns. As any major expense we quoted several companies in the area but Pool Concepts had the best design and features that fit perfectly to our budget. They followed up a few times but they were never insistent since they understood our limitations. Once we felt it was the right time, we contacted them and resumed the process. The process started in December and after all architectural approvals were completed, construction began right away. Since it was winter, the weather impacted the schedule a few times but we weren’t in any rush so the project extension didn’t impact us. They were always communicative during each stage of the process and provided the right guidance when we had any action item on our part. All in all, we are very happy with the end product and we wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Alma and Lawrence as designers and project managers or Ryan as the service manager to our friends and family.

Pool Concepts was fantastic to work with from start to finish! Jason and the team were always extremely responsive, really listened to our needs and desires, and helped us create a beautiful pool within our desired budget. The project was completed within the time period quoted and stayed within the original financial projection. We couldn't be happier and highly recommend Pool Concepts!

Pool Concepts was amazing. I've worked Air Force construction for over 20 years so know the difference. Did a ton of research and received full designs from San Antonio's Big 4 pool contractors. Pool Concepts had the best design, most competitive pricing and an outstanding construction crew that was responsive throughout the entire process. ?George is an incredible designer that masterfully solved some significant elevation challenges we had and Dre the construction site lead was always on top of it, responded immediately to questions and always followed up. After 2 months of using the pool I have to say from design to construction to using it, everything went flawless. Would recommend Pool Concepts over any other San Antonio pool builder in a second! -Marc

Pool Concepts is first-class, professional operation and overall the company did an excellent job. The planning and construction of the pool was carried out very much as promised. We liked working with sales manager Jason Ordaz and construction supervisor Dre Flores. The project was fully described in written documents we were given when we signed the contract. The quality of workmanship on the pool itself and the surrounding patio was excellent. The cost was high but we believe we got what we paid for. We have only one very minor complaint: The project was estimated to take from six to eight weeks from the time we signed the contract and it took closer to 10 to 11 weeks for everything to be completed to our satisfaction. Weather was not a factor, given that we had virtually no rain during construction. It's unlikely we will want to build another pool at another home but if we did, we would use Pool Concepts again.

Very professional - met w/ us, took our input for what we wanted, reviewed the site, offered a few suggestions, made a detailed proposal and design, worked w/ us on HOA approval and made slight adjustments to design and construction based on requirements of HOA. Great experience overall. Have had the pool for 12 years, has been a great install and we have had no issues.

Met with George from Pool Concepts to get an estimate for a pool. Before we were even able to discuss a pool he stated that there was no way they could get equipment into our backyard and not worth wasting our time. It was odd in that he was the 4th person to come out and none of the others expressed the same issues. We proceeded with a competitor and they have since already excavated the backyard with no problems getting a backhoe and bobcat into our backyard. Only minimal work was required to remove the fence.

The subs or employees they use do really good work. This is the most important thing, period. The quality is very good and they are responsive to problems. We are extremely pleased with our overall relationship with Pool Concepts. Like any other small company that is busy, you have to work with them. We had a difficult time getting the correct tile ordered and delivered, but we were patient and everything worked out well in the end. They are a very nice family owned business and I highly recommend them.

This pool was of solid construction. No skimping on quality, service and materials. It is nine years old ...everything; to include pumps and equipment are still original. Only routine maintenance has been performed. The plaster is still in good condition; only faded somewhat due to natural wear over the years. Nine years ago the variety of plaster finishes were not available (or available - I would not have wanted to spend the money for it.) Now; when the time comes to re-plaster down the road....I would defintately have Pool Concepts back to do it and I would choose a newer ; more attractive finish that most likely has been improved over the last ten years.

Everything was fine except a tile that was used as a border on hot tub is crumbling. Was supposed to fix in fall because needed to drain pool but has done nothing as yet 4/16/14. Promised a diving rock as incentive to go with them and never provided it. This is my daughter's home and I am involved in the financing on pool.

Talked with receptionist. Provider contact me same day. Briefly described repairs need to be preformed on my pool. Provider said his crews were too busy to perform work.

We have had a fantastic experience with Pool Concepts. Tommy, our pool designer from Pool Concepts, designed a beautiful pool in a very tricky and sloped area of our yard. He listened closely to what we were looking for and worked very hard to design the pool within our budget. The construction of the pool went very smoothly from start to finish. Our superintendent, Dre, supervised the project very closely and kept us informed of all progress along the way. He very patiently answered my many, many questions throughout the entire project! All of the workers that came throughout the project were very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. The quality of each trade's work was excellent. The building was continuous throughout the project and finished within a very reasonable amount of time. Pool Concepts continues to give us support/information during this early stage of learning how to take care of our pool. We are thrilled with our new pool. It is more beautiful than we expected and we are so happy that we chose Pool Concepts for this project. I would highly recommend contacting them if you are considering installing a pool. I would also highly recommend asking for Tommy as your pool designer. His commitment to getting us the pool we wanted and his service throughout the entire project has been amazing. It is obvious that he takes great pride in his work and he is a pleasure to work with.

We met with 5 companies when we decided to build a pool. We narrowed our choices down to two?Pool Concepts and a one-man company, Korbar Pools. Tommy at Pool Concepts had come up with a wonderful design and it was a difficult decision. We chose the other company?and came to regret it very much. Our builder did not have a permit for our pool on file for almost a full month after he started building. Throughout the build there were many promises of dates things would be done and they wouldn?t be. We know that pool builds take time but he should not have come up with dates that something would be done and then not have it started for 2 weeks. He ignored many emails, phone calls, and texts. But when it was a pay day, he was at our door to collect his checks. The quality of the work was less than great. Our auto fill didn?t work from the beginning and he said someone would be there on Monday to fix it. 11 days later someone came to work on it. We don?t think it is fixed. There is a wad of plastic where the water enters the pool and the coping removed to work on it is still sitting there and will be for quite a while I?d guess. At one point he left town for almost a week without telling us or his subcontractors. No one could get a hold of him. During this time, our plaster was sprayed. Someone turned the water on to fill the pool but gave us no instructions. He ignored all calls and texts from us and the subs who were here working. He finally texted back when I texted him that I was calling a pool service company to come and would deduct the cost from his draw. He said he was sending someone out the next morning (Friday). No one ever showed up until he finally came back to town on Monday. This company was so frustrating to deal with. We are still trying to get thing finished and fixed. I could go on and on but I think you get the point. Had we gone with Pool Concepts, we truly believe we would not have had to deal with many of these stresses and frustrations. Here?s why?there is always someone to answer the phone when you call Pool Concepts?a real person! If someone decides to go out of town in the middle of a job, there are others to turn to. Pool Concepts has wonderful ratings on Angie?s List and on BBB as well as Google, etc. They build a lot of pools and have for a long time. Don?t make our mistake and wish you hadn?t spent your money with a less-experienced operation. Choose Pool Concepts and get the benefit of a great company.

They were slow to come out, but as soon as they did, they got started relatively quickly and the job was done well. The workers were hard workers and they did a good job. However, their price was high.

The workforce was punctual and kept in contact with us very well. As in all major projects there were delays. The biggest was San Antonio actually had rain. There was things that could not be done during those periods. Overall we are very happy with the work and design that was done on our pool. We would recommend to anyone needing pool work done.

I corresponded with Mr. Maldonado via e-mail and spoke to Mr. Ordaz telephonically. The communication at this point is positive, but I do not have a quote yet. Once the process is complete, I will determine if Pool Concepts is the company of choice. I received a quote on 8 May, the pool design was a great concept, "no pun intended". The cost was outside our means, hopefully next year.

My name is Levi Rodgers and I had a Pool Concepts Pool built in my backyard, and I am a Retired Army Officer and a San Antonio area Real Estate Professional. My family decided to get a Swimming Pool for my family?s home in the San Antonio area because of the crazy San Antonio heat and due to my injuries I received in Afghanistan in 2009, it is hard for me to exercise with anything that requires impact?. So I needed to design a pool that fit my needs as well as the needs of a lot of our family friends who are also Disabled Veterans. When choosing my pool builder, I interviewed all of the major San Antonio area companies, including Kieth Zars Pools, Gary Pools, and Cody Pools. Both Cody Pools and Keith Zars Pools were too busy to even call me back after at least two inquiries to their companies. I guess they are too busy to serve everyone? who knows? Either way it came down to Gary Pools and Pool Concepts, I interviewed both companies extensively and received estimates and so forth from each builder. The design from Cody Pools was horrible, the designer did not listen to me at all? he kept telling me what I want as opposed to asking me what I want. I stayed the course and didn?t kick him out of my house, but he was very inconsiderate?I am sure that it was an isolated event, but he had been working at the company for many years and I think he just didn?t think I could qualify for a pool, as he kept asking what I do for a living and so forth? I just replied that I was a Disabled Veteran that was injured in Afghanistan, which is true? but I purposely didn?t tell him that I have a successful Real Estate business in Northwest San Antonio because I wanted to see his true colors. Of course it is speculation, but as soon as the Gary Pools representative had the perception that I was a Retired Disabled Vet, he was trying to get out of my home in a hurry. He kept telling me that I should cash in my TSP Plan (Government 401k) to buy a pool and so forth. What a screwball that Gary Pools sent my way? Obviously they did not get the job.. THEN CAME POOL CONCEPTS BY PETE ORDAZ?.! The salesperson Jason Ordaz , who is Pete Ordaz?s son did a great job?. First of all, when I told them I was a Disabled Veteran, the entire staff at Pool Concepts was there to support me and help me out. I have a lot of friends that are in wheel chairs or prosthetics and I wanted a design that would facilitate them as well when they are over with their kids and so forth. Pool Concepts was excellent every step of the way, period. One of the main factors that I chose Pool Concepts is that they build a CUSTOM Pool that is very high end; I am so very impressed by the pool? there is an amazing Beach entry, Rock Waterfall, and amazing Waterslide made out of gunite that is incorporated into the pool. They brought in one of the states most sought after concrete specialists to do my slide and it turned out FABULOUS?! We have several friends that live in much higher end communities than we do that have used Pool Concepts. Pool Concepts is building pools in all of the higher end communities in San Antonio, and they are doing so without forgetting about building pools for guys like me and my family?. They made this pool very special for us. Another reason that we made the decision to go with Pool Concepts, By Pete Ordaz is because of the demonstrated customer service and willingness to earn my business. They answered my calls and responded to my inquiries. They even sent me through a Pool School to teach me how to maintain my beautiful pool. Unlike many of the competitors, Pool Concepts does not up charge you for extra digging charges. If they hit a ton of rock and have to dig for five days, it is what it is? you pay nothing extra. That was pretty cool, because we live on a ton of limestone?! Bottom line, any project of the magnitude of a pool project is going to have some questions or concerns, its how those questions or concerns are handled is what matters. Pool Concepts treated me right from the get go and I am glad that we chose them. It is my opinion that when choosing a pool company, chose one that builds an amazing custom product and has a great reputation... but also desires to earn your business. The Construction manager at Pool Concepts, Miguel was amazing... he was there before, during, and after the transaction... If I have a question about the pool or something, I just send Miguel a text or e mail and wallah, I have a response very quickly. If you?re going to deal with a construction manager? dealing with Miguel is amazing?! He is a very honest guy and is an Associate Pastor in his spare time? This is just a testament as to how great this company is, as they pick and chose their employees carefully, and they truly care about their name and reputation which is very important as they will always strive to perform and to satisfy their customers, bottom line?..! In closing?I cannot say enough good things about Pool Concepts by Pete Ordaz... They are a Family Owned and Operated business that really care about their customers and build an amazing product. There was one day where there was some confusion about the fence being put up?. The General Manager, Ryan Ordaz, came out to my house and put the fence up himself, Pretty cool! Additionally, all of the crews that were out here working to build my pool were very respectful, courteous, and amazing at their individual trades? On a Professional Level, as a Real Estate Professional, I deal with a lot of home sales in the San Antonio area and I have and continue to recommend to all of my clients that are building pools or remodeling their existing pool that Pool Concepts, By Pete Ordaz is going to make their dollar go further in the end and they will get more bang for the buck. In my professional opinion, If you are going to build a pool, build one with a company that will build you a pool that will help your home sell in the future?.not one that will hinder the sale. The guys came out for consult, took measurements, we talked about what I wanted and seemed to be very professional. I was told I would have an estimate and drawing within a couple of weeks. I called him 3-4 weeks after our initial meeting and he said he would have it to me within a week to 10 days! That was several MONTHS ago! :-( HAVEN'T HEARD FROM HIM SINCE!

They were innovative, prompt and professional. I do not believe any company in San Antonio including the big ones (you know who I am referring to) hold a candle to this company. Give them a try, you will NOT be disappointed.

Jason was great to work with- We just were swayed by another pool builder- I would recommend anyone building a pool call Pool Concepts. Price was super close to our final.

THE POOL SERVICE WAS GREAT, BUT I DIDN'T FEEL LIKE I WAS GETTING A STRAIGHT ASSESSMENT OF THE PROBLEMS WITH THE PUMP. I WAS TOLD I NEEDED TO CHANGE MULTIPLE FILTERS, BUT ONLY NEEDED TWO THAT WERE SEVERALLY DAMAGED. IT SEEMS LIKE THEY WERE TRYING TO TAKE ME TO THE CLEANERS.
