The best recommendation I can give for hiring K & M Contracting is that I would, without hesitation, recommend them to family and friends. I totally recommend them to anyone needing home repairs or a remodeling project - large or small. Employees, Curtis and Ed, are expert professionals, excellent craftsmen, as well as respectful, dependable, honest and punctual. Extremely impressive workmanship! I’m very pleased with completed projects.

They do great work. They move slower, but they do exactly what you ask and do great work. They fix anything they know isn't right, or if we ask for something different. They are very good!

Tom Carle was easy to work with and responsive to our needs. He designed and built our room addition within budget and on time. We were very happy with the results. We highly recommend him for any home improvement job.

We have worked with K&M for years. They built a screened in back porch for us, repainted entire interior and redid master bath. Tom, the owner listens and gives lots of good suggestions. His 2 main employees, Kurtis and Ed, also very professional, polite. I feel completely comfortable with them. It is like having your brothers come over and work on your house. Kurtis does plumbing and electrical work as well as all sorts of other types of things. He also has lots of good suggestions but never pushy.

I've known them for years and they've done tens of thousands of dollars worth of work over the years. We really like their work. They're really great.

I'd read on this site that the response time has been a problem for some customers, but we did not have that problem. Both times we used them, we heard back within 24 hours. The second time we called, I did mention that we were repeat customers. The work done was great. The wall and ceiling repairs took longer than anticipated, so ceiling texturing was not dry in time for them to paint over it. Since our walls and ceiling are almost pure white, the repairs are barely noticeable. They agreed to come out another day to paint, but I never called to have them do it. We are very happy with this company.

We have a cute older home which we used to live in and have now turned into a vacation home.  The home is furnished and we have families who rent weekly instead of staying in a hotel.  When we have an issue with the house (rather often because the home is over 50 years old) we tend to panic because we need to have the problem taken care of quickly before the next group of renters arrive.  So we were informed by departing renters that the bath tub had a leak severe enough to require a towel on the floor to absorb the water after each bath.  That sounded pretty serious so I called our friends at K & M Contracting that evening and left a message on their answering machine. They responded  the next morning and Curtis met me at the house to have a look.  He checked things out and the problem was bad - lots of water literally cascading from the fixture inside the wall and then seeping out from under the tub.  Though it's an older faucet, Curtis said he could fix it but would need to find the parts, and he promised to come back on Friday or Saturday since we had renters coming the next week.  Well, he called us a day or two later to tell us his grandmother passed away unexpectedly and her funeral was that weekend.  We wondered if Curtis would be able to get to our work with all the unexpected duties and commitments related to his family and the funeral.  We were a little worried but we shouldn't have been - he came on Sunday morning and knocked out the plumbing problem and even had time to replace a sink faucet, work on outdoor lighting and fix a broken window.  Thank God for K & M Contracting and Curtis!   They have helped us many a time, and they really know their way around the problems of older homes!  I keep their number handy...

Tom Carle was a good listener and very helpful with suggesting an architecture and design to best meet our needs and budget.  The work started on time and was completed when promised.  Throughout the contruction process Tom ensured that subcontractor work was satisfactorily performed and was attentive to every detail.  The completed addition exceeded our expectaions!

Tom Carle and his crew gave a great estimate and stuck to the price. We worked together to select paint colors, granite slabs, ideas for new lighting. They came every day on time and cleaned up when done. I was very pleased with the work ethic and very comfortable having them in my house. The new kitchen looks great and I have had many compliments on it.

Thank God for K and M contracting and Tom Carle. When my father died in Jan 2008 I thought i could fix the house myself. A year later I gave up. There was simply too much wrong with it. At one point 30 years ago, there were a lot of cats int he house. The roof was leaking the floors needed to be replaced the sheetrock needed to be replaced in 2/3 of the house, In less than six months Tom and Kurtis and Ed rebuilt the place, fixed everything. Tore out the old kitchen and utility room rebuilt it put in new cabinets, fixed all the hidden problems. though out the whole ordeal Tom was wonderful. Patient, knowledgeable, kind and always available. Kurtis can fix anything. I don't care what it is or how it happened, Kurtis will fix it the first time and it will NEVER have another problem. Ed is the best carpenter I have ever known. There are alot of weird angles in the old house, all the wood trim for doors and windows and baseboards are perfect. If you need a small job, they can do it, if you need 4500 sq ft of old house rebuilt, remodeled and fixed they can do it. Tom, Kurtis and Ed are as honest as the day is long. They had a key to my house and  I would trust them with anything and any one. My mother in law has their number and will call them if she has any problem. My 85 year old aunt had them rebuild her back patio.

From the estimate to the finish, they were professional and trustworthy. There were no surprises and they worked with me on selecting colors. REplacing the light fixtures involved getting into the attic and they discovered a light fixture there that was not working. It was also replaced.
They wil begin work on my kitchen, a rather extensive remodel, in two weeks.

I called him back because he had not finished part of the deck, and some problems with some of the other work, of which the screen door was too short and only hung on one hinge, being one of the main problems. After showing him all the problems with the work done, the only thing he said to me was that the screws came with the hinges, then he left and I have not seen or heard from him since.

K & M Contracting did a great job. They installed a lot of shelves in our home and they all look very professionally done. They also did some odd jobs for me without charging me extra. The crew was experienced and had all of the proper tools to get the job done.
