Our heater stopped working on Thursday afternoon. Intrastate came out Friday and diagnosed the problem - a bad control panel. Raymond called on Monday and said the part was in and he would be over Tuesday to fix it. He came Tuesday about 1 pm and installed the new part. He is friendly, courteous and a good communicator. We have used Intrastate on two other occasions and been very satisfied with their service. We highly recommend them.

Absolutely would not recommend, and will never allow this company onto my property again. The only thing good I can say about them is that they were professional looking and mostly on time. My warranty company (American Home Shield) picked this company, and I ended up calling AHS again, paying another $125 service fee for a new company just so I wouldn't have to deal with Intrastate. First, Intrastate told me I'd have to build a deck in the attic on both sides of my air handlers or they would not do any work. Then they called the city inspectors so they could try to justify uninstalling another air handler/furnace that was positioned over the original air handler/furnace, replacing the lower one that they claimed needed to be replaced (that didn't!), and then reinstalling the upper air handler. The home was built in 1973, and granted, the access isn't great, but there's no way that the air handler and furnace even needed to be replaced!! It takes the new refrigerant (see photo). No doubt a lot of this needless work would make them a lot of money, but I think they were trying to bleed both the warranty company and me for needless thousands of dollars in labor! Apparently, now that it is getting cold, they are hurting for business so badly that they make up unnecessary and labor-intensive projects to keep making money. It seems that I am also in need of major pest control, as a large rat entered my attic between the time Intrastate and the new company entered it, and disconnected the carbon monoxide vent! I found it intensely interesting that a critical part of the air handler in the attic had been purposely detached! During the process of installing the new AC, the new company with integrity had to place an adapter in my attic unit, and upon opening the attic door, we immediately found that the vent tube that vents carbon monoxide outside had been disconnected-this wasn't a "well, it fell apart". It was pretty obvious that it had been purposely pulled apart (see photo), and the last people that had been in the attic were the people from Intrastate. Maybe it was the large rat that did it, but he'd have to have hands as large as human hands in order to pull that tube apart! Quite a coincidence, ya think? I'm not saying they did it (or the rat, for that matter!), I'm just saying that it wasn't pulled apart before they spent time in my attic, and if I spot the rat that did it, I'm shooting it. That's the first thing the other company noticed at the same time that I saw it, and it was NOT pulled apart before Intrastate visited. Lucky this was found, as it could have been deadly. It could have killed my dogs, or worse, my family (but apparently, was perfectly safe for a certain giant rat). The way it was explained to me, if (that's a big IF) the safety features on the furnace would have kicked because of a possible "leak" detected, the furnace would have stopped working. Maybe whoever pulled it apart was hoping that I'd call them to get them back out here to work on it. Again, I'm not saying Intrastate pulled apart my vent on purpose, but I will say that if you hire this company, do yourself a favor and put a discrete camera in your attic before you allow anyone to "look at" your system, and supervise and ask questions while they do anything to your outside unit. Maybe have your pest control guy standing by for the huge rat. I hope that whoever or whatever purposely dismantled my vent and placed myself and my family in danger gets the karma they deserve. I will definitely be escalating this with AHS.

"Nice fictional review..... we observed your attic had dangerous access and reported to AHS. We looked at your outdoor unit and diagnosed a leak and suggested replacement. We wanted to be accurate and check your indoor coil but it was unsafe and provided information to AHS on what was needed to resolve. We are not carpenters so we would NOT be making any money off you correcting your Code Upgrades/Violations with your own Carpenter Contractor. As for the Vent Pipe the big rat you claim disconnected, we never even went near your Furnace because of unsafe access. Bottom Line Coil was replaced in 2006 with an Aspen Coil and All YOUR CODE VIOLATIONS SHOULD HAVE BEEN UOGRADED. So other Contractors have not been doing their legal responsibilities...... Thank you so much.........I blew up the pictures my Tech took from a distance and it shows the Vent Pipe Previously and already BROKEN APART !!!!"

Everything went great! Intrastate was sent by our home warranty company. The two technicians who were sent to our house were polite, friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. We had no idea where the primary drip line was or where it emptied, but the guys found it immediately and fixed the problem by unclogging the line. They were quick and awesome!

We were referred to Intrastate by our home warranty company after an awful experience with the tech they sent our previously. Previous techs kept adding freon and taking it out, then told us the problem was a dirty coil (our fault, they said). Intrastate came out and expertly identified leaks in our coil and replaced it efficiently and promptly. Just called our warranty company again and requested Intrastate specifically, and they called and showed up that same day to diagnose a faulty blower motor.

These guys were great! So informative, showing us what was being fixed, what part was being replaced and the new one and cleaned up after they were through. I would definitely use them again.

The company technician called early in the morning to request a window of time to be at my home. They arranged it so I could be home from work by giving me a call beforehand. They called and gave me advance notice and assured me that they would wait until I got there. They were courteous and went right to work. They diagnosed the problem and informed me of the solution to fix it. They were prompt, fair and courteous. They had to make a trip to Helotes to get a part to finish the job. They quickly did this and finished the job so we could be comfortable and cool during the night. Couldn't ask for a better response and job from the two technicians. They checked out the complete unit and gave me a report on the status of the unit before leaving.
