I just acquired two 500 sq. ft. apts.  They needed new A/C systems.  I'd had about 5 different estimates done and, due to some tricky duct work, most of them recommended re-ducting the apartments or knocking holes in the (brick) walls so that a different style of unit could be installed.  The fellow who came to look at the job from Terra found a work-around that, while not perfect, solved the problem without re-ducting or knocking holes through brick!
I was, at first, less than impressed with Terra.  The A/C unit they had quoted in the estimate was "unavailable" for at least a month.  Terra tried to sell me a brand of A/C I'd never heard of at the same price as the Rudd they'd quoted me.  I informed them that this was a bait and switch and I wouldn't put up with it.
Terra came back with a proposal for a slightly larger Rudd brand unit that they had on hand for a greater cost.  I agreed and work started within the week on installation.
Terra got both units totally installed and working in only two days.  This pleased me.
Two workmen were present, both spoke English, but one spoke it much more fluently than the other.
I was asked for input several times, which made me very happy as I was able to get one of the  fan coils rotated so that pipes wouldn't be in a walkway.
I was not at all pleased that the new, larger, Rudd fan coil unit did not fit on the preexisting cement pad.  Terra offered no help in pouring or adjusting the cement pad.  In fact, the installer was perfectly willing to let it dangle in space by four inches.  When I said that was unacceptable we both went looking for a base.  We found a cement block which the technician jammed under the edge of the unit.  The unit was now uneven by over an inch.  The technician was fine with this, which was SERIOUSLY unprofessional.  I may not know much about A/C units, but I strongly suspect they ought to be level.  I finally (temporarily) solved the problem by using scrap wood to brace up the side to the correct height.  Terra said that when I get around to expanding the cement base they'd lift the unit, not move it so I can re-pour the entire base, mind, but lift it temporarily.
Also, one of the technicians built an air return over a hole in the drywall.  No patching, no coming to get me so that I could patch it myself, he just built the return.  He didn't seem to see any problem with air rushing into the inside of the walls.  He said, "You were supposed to handle dry wall."  Yeah.  Very typical craftsmanship for South Texas.
This is why I am not rating them higher.  They did what they said they would do and not a single bit more.
In conclusion, I would recommend them, but only if you are willing to stand there and WATCH them work.  They cannot be trusted to do a quality job unsupervised.  However, if you are physically present and know what the work OUGHT to look like so you can correct mistakes, Terra is a good company.
