We got names of contractors that the store provided and I contacted them immediately for a quote. We made appointments for both, but they never showed up. Not a good sign.
We found Gonzalez Carpentry on Angie's List and I gave Gus a call. We made an appointment, and Gus arrived right on time.
He gave us a quote for the doors and we agreed to the quote.
Gus and his carpenters showed up on time and did a very good job with the doors. We did have one small problem with one of the doors, but Gus came back quickly and fixed the problem.
We were also considering changing out our counter tops in the kitchen and bathrooms. Gus recommended that we check with a local granite/tile store, so we went there and picked out our new counter top material and back-splash tile.
Gus was acting as the general contractor for the counter-top company and plumbers. We had a few problems with the counter-top company, but a few phone calls to Gus, and things got back on track.
Gus was very responsive to our needs and he looked out for us by discussing our concerns with the other contractors..
Gonzales Carpentry isn't the cheapest contractor in the area, and I knew that going into the projects. However, the cheapest isn't usually the best, and we wanted quality workmanship.
Gus provided quality workmanship and a high level of professionalism.
I would highly recommend hiring Gus Gonzalez for for any home or business projects that you may have. If Gus doesn't have the expertise for certain projects, he knows reputable people that can, and he will ensure that the work is done in a professional manner.
We made an appointment for Gus Gonzalez to come and give us an estimate of the work. He provided a quote via email. We confirmed with him we were ready to begin. When times were given for work to be done and workmen to show, these happened consistently and promptly. If we were told workmen would be at our house at 8:30 A.M., that is exactly when they arrived. We also appreciated that he utilizes workmen with specialties for the job and not just a jack-of-all trades. We had electricians, plumbers, painters, tillers, and a cabinet maker involved in our makeover.
Gus Gonzalez takes great pride in the service he provides. He is good to explain what needs to be done and why. He is always available by cell phone. We could text him with any question, and he was prompt to respond either by text or phone.
We understood going into this project the possibility of unforeseen costs. He informed us prior to redoing the bathrooms, there could be the possibility to replace copper pipes. We wouldn't know until walls were removed during the demolition. This was a necessity. We appreciated Gus being up front with us to expect this additional cost.
Gus Gonzalez provides a quality finished product and instills in his crews this same value of a job well done and work ethic. We feel very fortunate to find this caliber of contractor.
