Repairman arrived the same day I called. He checked the power and identified the water heater was only getting half power (circuit breaker problem). He did not repair because he was not an electrician. However, $16.00 and a trip to Home Depot and I had everything running properly again. Honest professionals.

I called about several plumbing problems that needed to be corrected, but were not an emergency. The office person said she would call me back with an time and date. She called back within an hour and scheduled it for the next morning. The workmen arrived on time and completed the work with excellent results. The cost was very reasonable

He was very nice and easy to talk to, he performed the same service another plumber did at 1/5 the price another plumber was going to do the same work for.

Water was leaking out from under my toilet every time it was flushed, so I decided to replace the wax ring under the toilet. When I tried to shut off the water to the toilet, the vaIve would not close completely and stop the water flow. I called McDowell's on Tuesday afternoon and the plumber arrived Wednesday morning, calling to let me know he was on the way. He replaced the shut-off valve (which was 34 years old and full of small rocks that prevented it from closing), replaced the wax ring, and then cleaned out my sink drain at no additional charge. The job was done quickly, professionally, and courteously. I was amazed when he told me the bill was $57.47! I will definitely call McDowell's the next time I need any plumbing work done.

A few of my outdoor sillcocks were dripping and a few had issues with the backflow device. I called the company and setup an appointment to get them replaced. The receptionist doesn't give out estimates, it is all up to the plumber for the estimate. The plumber came on time. After I showed him the four sillcock locations he went right to work. He was done in an hour. No mess! He even took the old ones away (they recycle or sell the metal). I appreciated that they used parts from USA. That was good to see because the original sillcock were made from China and were of poor quality.

The entire process was fast, efficient and as far as I can tell properly done. Time will tell of course. The water on the floor in the laundry room and in the garage are drying up as I type this.

The call was taken earlier on this date and the recepitionest called me back when the plummer, Josh, was on the way, about mid morning. Josh immediately fixed the sink problem and proceeded to the toilet problem. He had some problems with the water running and had to go get parts.
I was amazed at how Josh continued to trouble shoot the toilet problem until he was able to finish the job.
The price was very reasonable and I would recommend Josh to anyone. Hopefully I won't have any more problems, but if I do, I will contact McDowell.

We thought would need a new hot water heater but they were honest with us and showed us how to get the most out of your current hot water heater.

A simple phone call to a very helpful receptionist got the ball rolling. She took down all the information and ordered the part without requiring a deposit in advance. We were quoted an estimate of $250 on the phone. About 4 days later, we received a phone that the part was in. But due to a conflict in our work schedules, we couldn't get the work done that day. So, the next day we were surprised to come home and find that the reducer was installed while we were away. This was a *nice* surprise. We called McDowell Plumbing and were told that they had a break on the schedule for that day and went ahead and installed the pressure reducer. We were also told that the final bill was $210, $40 less than the originally quoted $250. A couple of days later, we dropped off the check with McDowells. All of the work was done professionally. They cleaned up the entire work area, leveled the dirt, and layed the peeled up grass back over the water line area. I was very satisfied with their work and the fact that I won't have a bare spot in my lawn. Now that's attention to detail by a professional company!

After weeks of trying to get a few other plumbers to give estimates and not returning my calls, I gave McDowell a call on Monday afternoon. The very polite receptionist said they had to order the pressure reducing valve that I needed. Tuesday afternoon she called back saying the part was in and made an appt to come out the next morning at 8am. Even though it ended up being a much bigger job than first expected, (the city had installed a riser on the meter and he (Mr. Stemmer) had to dig three feet down and he needed additional parts, the price stayed about the same as what I'd been quoted. They said under $200 and it was $210 in the end, pretty much right on. I couldn't have been more happy with my experience with this company and they will be who I call from now on.
