My kitchen cabinets, sink and stove countertops were to be painted and remodeled with different color paint and laminate which begain early March 2010. I was patient with him at first because he only charged me $435. Throughout the process which took almost 2 months he was never on time and often left the work he was doing in my kitchen to go to another person's home to do work at their home. Several ocassions he said he'd be at my home to finish but either he didn't show up or called with excuses for not being able to come. It was too late for me because I had already cancelled appointments with my doctor or elsewhere in prder to meet him on time. After the work he done went unfinished and later he finally telling me that he had to redo the countertop... I asked if I could choose another color, he said yes. Once I went to lowes and found the laminate I wanted, I gave him 2 selections explaining to him... if he can't get one... he could get the other. After 2 weeks passed with unreturned calls or text messages he said he did not order the laminate becaise the people at Lowes took too long (an hour) to help him so he left. The final straw was when he asked me to order the laminate, pay for it and he'd pay me back. I made the call to get my money back in order to get someone else to redo what he had messed up but found that the damage he caused will amount to more than the $435 I initially paid him. I asked for my money back but he gave it back to me in payments instaed of a lum sum as I had given him. His words was, "I'm not a rich man." I am at a loss for words because I have the $435 back but at no time did he offer to fix the damage he had done nor ask to see if after I had a professional to come in and look at it. My kicthen is a mess whcih will cost a lot more than expected to fix it. I have photo of the work as well as a video. He did ask was that it upon returning the final payment to me. I didn't respond because I was too upset to mention he do anything else because he was not good at coming on time as he said he would or not at all. The entire process was too lengthy and I honestly believe it shouldn't have taken as long especially after consulting with another professional with experience in this area.
