CMR CONSTRUCTION & ROOFING

What appeared to be a good company turned into a complete nightmare . I am not one to write bad reviews ...but after 3 phone calls with no call back ( obviously avoiding me ) I was forced to write this review . C.M R. cares about one thing .....themselves & lining their pockets . You as a customer are just a means of them getting to their goal of taking your money & avoiding you after the job is complete . It would take quite the write up for me to go in detail how all this lead up to this review ...so I will just say this .... STAY AWAY !! I will never recommend nor use them as long as I live . They do have some good employees working for them but ultimately they are not the decision makers or the people that take care of issues . Which is sad as these employees had their hands tied with helping me . Ultimately ....I am very upset that they made no effort to mitigate the issue at hand . So , don't be a statistic & avoid them at all cost . To C.M.R. - with a return call & satisfactory results with a phone call & doing the right ethical thing . I will rewrite my stars & review of your company . I did the right thing by paying you for your services ...now it's your turn to do the same & do the right thing .

I think that CmR subcontracts to local companies and it can take them a while to find a local subcontractor. So it took a while for someone to come out but once he did come, things went smoothly.

Overall these guys did a great job. A few hiccups, but they took care of everything I requested.

From what I understand siding contractors in Indianapolis aren't aware of taping your house wrap.This is what I have been told. I went online to be sure I would have warranties for items installed and just happen to look over the installation instructions. I had taken over 200 pictures while the process was being done and after reading the online information, I was glad I did. House wrap is to be taped around all openings and open at the bottom. I even called a gentlemen from the house wrap company and yes it is suppose to be taped. I had pics showing there wasn't a bit of tape used on my house. When I approached the contractor, he wasn't aware of this procedure and after contacting some of his buddies from the siding industry, who are listed on Angies list as very reputable contractors, they have not been taping seams either. After he was made aware of the issue. Cmr or Ryne did come back removed all of the siding, installed fanfold insulation under the siding and house wrap all taped. His foreman works for 6 or 7 contractors in the area and he said none of them tape the house wrap.

So I called Angies list thinking this should be something everyone would like to know. They sent me to a specialist who took my story, but really only filled out a review form for me. I would think this would be a problem in the Indianapolis area and Anqies list who provides this service for all of her customers. I would think it would be a disservice not to write a story about this and inform the people of Indianapolis about what to look for.

I was told of a whole neighborhood who had the same installer who didn't tape the house wrap. In 5 years every home in the neighborhood had rotting wood around their windows. Vinyl siding is not a waterproofer. You have to have house wrap so as your house sweats or water gets behind the siding, the water has somewhere to go and slides down the house wrap and out the bottom. Keeping your house wood nice and dry.

It started off great, salesmen came and presented a great presentation in the begining on how their company was local and they were not storm chasers, and how they provided the lowest cost of repairs with awesome work. The two guys that came out to my home stated they would be involved every step of the way during the process of the repairs of my home. My husband and I picked out the roof type and scheduled a date of repairs to the home. The guys called back couple weeks later stating they would be starting early on the repairs due to the winter weather that may come, pretty much the next day from the date we received a call stating they were starting another date. Then we looked up and they were at the home the same day of the notice of starting early dropping off materials and starting the job. It was crazy, they would state one thing but do another. I let that slide and when a representative from my state, Indiana came by during when they were putting my roof on, said they weren't licensed to work in Indiana!!!!!! I was floored!!! I looked on my screen door and there was a huge pink sticker cease work order to continue until they get filed with permits and licenses...But remember during the first intitial meeting, the two salesmen stated they were local, located in Carmel, IN. Even had a flyer with people on it and the address for Carmel, IN office. Come to find out they are located in Lexington, TN! They indeed were storm chasers. Never heard from the salesmen who stated they were going to stay in contact with my husband and I throughout the entire process. Repairs took almost a month to do, they were already finished with the roof when the representative from IN came and stop them from continuing to repair the rest of the home. CMR didn't start the repairs to my siding until a month later. I told them to forget staining my deck, I just wanted the entire process to be over with. I had to reach out to them several times, and was told one thing but they would never follow through. Had employees that worked for them but had no clue on how they were suppose to handle things for their company. It was a crazy experience which I wouldn't ever want anybody to go through. They forgot to nail my gutter down to the siding and up on the roof area. They damange my window screens during the repairs to the roof. I wouldn't recommend them to anybody to be honest. They were the best in pricing, but goes to show you get what you paid for all the time.

They performed an excellent job replacing the roof, using replacement materials that met or exceeded the original materials. Two weeks later, a subcontractor did an excellent job replacing the gutters and downspouts. Another week later, they replaced the mesh in the window screens, leaving only the air conditioner vane repair pending. They worked directly with the insurance and mortgage companies without cost to us except for the insurance policy deductible.

When the initial job was done, they ran out of tile. Originally they proposed a tile instead of Ludiwici which was the tile that had been on the house since 1935 because Luciwici was backordered. When they ran out of tile it was 3 mos before additional tile came it. The whole experience has been a nigthtmare.

It was about a $70,000 job, but our insurance covered most of the expense. They looked at how many tiles were damaged within a square foot area. The insurance guy came out initially and said we could just replace some of the tiles, but that would cause there to be patches of different tile. The employee I worked with was tremendous - I really developed a rapport with him. However, I am not sure if he represents all of the employees. I would look at some of their recent jobs before I decided to hire them back.

They haven't contacted me or performed the work.

They worked in a timely fashion. They were punctual, professional and very knowledgeable. They are hard workers and they work for their customers. I found them reliable and friendly. They always cleaned up behind them and I would recommend them.

CMR worked diligently with my insurance company to arrive at an estimate that the insurance company was willing to reimburse. Their sales rep provided good follow up and pretty professional service. Their workers worked long and hard days on a steep roof in fairly hot weather. They cleaned up pretty well after each day on the job and got the job done pretty quickly (within 3 days). (It took Capitol Roofing over three weeks to complete my next door neighbor's roof earlier this year). The gutter were done very quickly as well and they look nice. The sales rep did a pretty nice job visiting the job site to oversee the quality of the work. They protected the windows and the landscaping. Their craftsmanship may not be at the same level as Durable Slate, but they were a lot less expensive.

It was terrible! They tore out the flashing and didn't replace it so water comes in my house now. Then when I called them it took about 3 phone calls for them to get back. Also, when they came back to fix the flashing, they ripped up the siding.

The roof price was covered by an insurance policy so they worked with the insurance company and made it all very easy for us. They were extremely customer-service oriented.

Excellent, professional company. Dyllon and Ross both went above and beyond for us. Our new slate roof, copper roof and copper gutters look fantastic. CMR is also a good corporate neighbor, as they agreed to serve as a flagship sponsor for the Meridian-Kessler Neighborhood Home and Garden Tour this year. All in all, a top-notch outfit. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

THEY DID TAKE MY MONEY AND I ENDED UP HAVING TO TAKE THEM TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT BECAUSE THEY DID NOT WANT TO REFUND IT. THE JUDGE RULED IN MY FAVOR AND THEY MUST PAY ME BACK 100 %.

THE ROOF THAT THEY PUT ON LOOKS OLDER BECAUSE THEY HAD DAMAGED IT WHILE INSTALLING. THE ROOF IS LEAKING IN SOME SPOTS. THEY HAVE BEEN OUT TO REPAIR THE ROOF BUT THE REPAIRS THEY ARE DOING ARE NOT REPAIRS THAT ARE GOING TO LAST.

I think that CMR had good intentions but they failed to deliver for me. In the end the missed meetings and the no calls were enough to deter me from using this company or recommending this company to my friends. It's my opinion that the work I had was not on a large enough scale for this company as they appear to be working mainly with slate and tile roofs in the Meridian and Kessler neighborhood. That is only my opinion. In the end the missed meetings were enough for me.

I thought they did a very good job of keeping the place clean.

I called for CMR Construction and Roofing to take a look at my roof. The receptionist was very polite and told me a representative in my area would get in touch with me within 24 to 48 hrs. The next day Brian Raines called and set up an appointment with me! He personally took a look at our roof. After he was done he came into our home and explained the damage and the process with my husband and I. He was very knowledgeable about slate and gutters. He took care of the whole process with the insurance company and made our lives a lot easier! A few weeks later I had a lovely new roof on my home and am very pleased how the whole process took place! The workers did very well to install the roof and gutters! I will definitely call CMR Construction and roofing the next time I need my roof repaired or replaced!

Everything seems to be good it has only been a few months but nothing to complain of yet. The man I dealt with was very understanding. At this point so far so good.

They were excellent. Very thorough and very complete. I would highly recommend them.

They were wonderful. Although they had lots of projects, they treated us as if we were their only customer.

I was initially very skeptical to receive an unsolicited offer to inspect my roof following last April's hail storm. I reluctantly agreed, knowing that I did have some damage. They inspected the property and uncovered significant hail damage. They negotiated with my insurance company; even requested a re-inspection. I worked with Joe Trainor from CMR through the entire process. There were miscommunications along the way, but everything ended well. My roof and gutters look fantastic; the talk of the neighborhood! The install crews were super professional and friendly. I was amazed that they were able to do the tear-off in half a day and then the install over another day and a half. My property was left neat and tidy. This was definitely a learning experience. CMR is a new company to Indianapolis and wasn't initially listed on Angie's List. I took a large gamble and luckily, everything worked out well. I will use CMR in the future if I have any slate roofing needs.

Called for estimate on copper gutter replacement. Scheduled an appointment. They insisted I be present to meet the agent. Agent failed to show up for appointment. Two follow up calls to them from me were not returned. Lousy way to do business! They won't get mine...
