1. Equipment never updated. Still have original battery and keypad. Phone calls to ADT resulted in 2012 with promise of getting update at no charge when I go out of hospital. Battery runs down when power goes out for several days after bad weather. I called when I got home from hospital and was told no such offer was available and should not have been made to me. I would have to pay over $100 to begin the process.

2. I also asked about my bill because it went up and I wasnt getting AARP discount or Angie's List discount. I was told that because I had been a customer of Brinks I was not eligible for the discounts.

3. I asked about the lower prices being advertised on TV and was told those were not available to me either.

4.  My payments were being electronically withdrawn from my bank accts. YET they did not show up or posted on the bills.

5.  I called last fall and spoke to Ken who said he would give me a credit while researching the matter. Gave him the dates that payments cleared the banks. He never called back.

6.  I waited a few months and called again. The person I spoke to advised me that I had to furnish front and back copies of the checks. I went to the bank and was told that could not be done. The bank never sees the check and I would never get a copy either because of the electronic withdrawal of payments.

7. I called ADT again and was told by Gloria that I had been transfered to Collections and would not be able to resolve my issues with her.

8. She transfered me to Michelle in Collections. Michelle said have bank fax copies of records from May 2014 to May 2015 to 904-564-5240 to her attention and Greg Woods. She said there was more than one Michelle and she was only one working for Greg. She would research payment history and get back to me. Private banker at Chase faxed records and put my name and phone number on it for return call. Never heard from them again.

9. Next bill came and was even bigger balance than before.

10. I called again and spoke to another guy, Keith who said he was sending Greg and email and Greg would call me.  Never happened! He also told me to refax records that Michelle asked for to Research at 877-238-3307. Faxed on 8-12-15 at Office Depot and got confirmation.

11. Then I called and was told it would take a few days to research. I hung up and got a Robo call recorded message that said I would be contacted in 24 to 48 hours with the results of the research.

12. NEVER heard from them until I got another bill with a huge balance and no credit for EDF payments. I called and requested an Audit copy so I could see where my payments lined up with Bank records from my Banks.

13.  I spoke with Gloria and asked her where my payments for March thru July had gone. That I mailed them each month but they did not appear to be processed. They did not come back in the mail. I was told that when your account is in collections your payments are sent to another area and they handle them. I asked if I could speak with them. I got transfered to a recording and after 25 minutes I gave up.

14. I feel someone is playing games.

15. Our neighborhood assoc had a guy from ADT come and speak after several break ins and he told us we could get a group rate. Even those of us who were original customers.  Never could get that either.

Service is due to be cut off Sept 2. I am disabled and almost 70 yrs old. I am not in good health and this has stressed me out badly. My husband had 3 heart attacks and not able to work. We would pay the bill if they will show us the audit and how our payments were applied. I am tired of being bullied and games being played with the payments I have mailed in the last few months. When you withdraw the money electronically from my banks and it is not applied to my account that is fraud. It is handled by a government agency. These people talk over you and you can not make them understand. I want an audit to compare to my bank records.

Our last contact was about a year ago when some alarm wires came lose on our doggie door. We open and close that door about a dozen times daily. Free maintenance is included in our contract, so we had no charge for service. The installer came at the appointed time, fixed the door, and he also examined out system and made several preventative maintenance improvements including one new full-house backup battery. We were very satisfied, as usual.

They are wonderful. I have their insurance and anytime I call them they are right here. I had changed phone carriers and I didn't call and let them know I had changed. They called me and they said they weren't connecting with my house. They were able to get it fixed and checked to make sure it was working.
I originally was with Brinks and when they sold out to ADT my service was never interrupted.

They also refused to give us any credit for the service they billed us for regrdless of the fact that there was no transmission. If we had been buglarized - there would have been no call to the police! The rep told us it was not ADT's responsibility to inform us that we had no transmission, that it was our responsibility. So, we are switching services! Buyer beware

I am a USA a member and USA has a discount program. My mom and dad had their alarm through ADT that they got through USA so what I did was I just called the number that USA a provides and they sent somebody out through the local ADT. It was a very good experience. I ended up spending $1200. There are two components to the cost. There's a monitoring service and that's about $40 a month and there's the installation charge which was about $1200. The thing that I liked the most was the lady that came out took time to really understand why we wanted the alarm system, what we were trying to accomplish and she set up the system (She didn't give us the package and say, here's the package) so it does what we wanted it to do which is a little different. We were not as concerned about security alone (as a whole), but we were concerned about monitoring the coming and going of our kids. She really helped us think through that, why we needed to do that and signed up to do that. I don't know how to compare the price. I felt like it was a fair enough price that I paid, but I don't know in relationship to other things how the price works. I would use them again in the future. I would recommend them.

ADT does an exceptional job at monitoring, but the Fort Worth office was very unprofessional in May 2007 when it came to representing their products and services back then. ADT Fort Worth office broke the law twice by (1) deceptively misrepresenting ADT products and competitor's products in fraudulent comparisons (comparing to competitors old outdated models and not the current models), and (2) openly sharing details of my ADT account and a confidential business conversations with another company. When I formally complained to Texas DPS Private Security Bureau with full details, ADT settled fully with me out of court. Hopefully the ADT Fort Worth office has cleaned house and doing reputable business today, but be certain to get everything written on contract no matter how small because any verbal item may be ignored later (such as which alarm panel is included in the purchase when the picture does not match the text description, and if they allow non-ADT sensors to be monitored).

Now the city requires that we purchase a police permit in order for ADT to do our monitoring. It's still a good service though and we do feel safer with them. They provide key pads and passwords. This can be a little confusing in trying to re-activate the alarm system, but they are helpful with that.

We feel very safe with this company. The response time on the false alarm was very fast. They provide people with stickers to put on the outside of their houses, which tells thieves and burglars that there is an alarm system there. This probably does the most good in deterring thieves.

ADT SECURITY SERVICES DOES A GREAT JOB MONITORING OUR HOME. ANY TIME THERE IS AN ALARM SIGNAL, THE COMPANY NOTIFIES THE POLICE DEPARTMENT. SOMETIMES IT IS A FALSE ALARM, BUT THE COMPANY STILL DOES ITS JOB. WE ARE PLEASED WITH THE SERVICE THEY PROVIDE AND WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE WHO DESIRES PEACE OF MIND THROUGH THEIR OWN HOME SECURITY SYSTEM.
