"Hi [Member Name Removed], we are so sad to see that you have felt the need to go on multiple review sites and share negative reviews all because Aledo was outside our service area. We are not inflexible, you just wanted something that we do not offer. We are a small family business and we have limitations on how far we can travel. You were extremely rude to our Mother on the phone after lying about where you lived to try and manipulate us into delivering outside our delivery range. Once your real city was revealed Pat was still nice to you and told you that we do not deliver that far but that you could instead pickup. You then became extremely rude and hostile with her and refused to take no for an answer. Your behavior was inappropriate and unacceptable. To treat someone that way and then go out of your way to harass them online is really low. -Denise"
After a bad experience with a well known Rowlett nursery I contacted Treeland by phone. I got more service from them in that first phone call than I got from 3 visits to the Rowlett nursery and was actually able to get some good advice on what to pick for several different locations. I went up to Treeland which is a very nice family run business. I got the royal tour and finally settled on a red oak, Chinese pistachio and 3 Eagleston hollies out of their huge inventory. We set up a delivery day and I went back home. I got an email with initial delivery time estimates a few days before and the day before I got an exact time which they met on the nose. The crew was quick, efficient, polite and did an excellent job of positioning the trees and disposing of the excess dirt in some problem areas for me. The trees are handsomely wired and have a perfect little dam around the tree ball to help with watering. The whole process took about a hour.
I would highly recommend Treeland if you're looking for reasonably priced larger trees delivered to your property.
Men that planted were quick, did a wonderful job. Very professional. They had everything that they were supposed to and tree arrived in excellent condition. Has only been a couple of months but is looking great. They give detailed instructions on how to keep the tree alive and they staked it down very nicely.
Highly recommend!
First Delivery attempt:
I had previously scheduled to have a tree planted from another nursery, but canceled and went with treeland because their trees were much cheaper. As a result of this, I already had the utilities marked, so I didn't bother to call Texas811. A couple of days before the delivery, treeland calls to ask for the Texas811 report number (or something to that effect), and I told them I had not called them since the flags were still in the ground from the last time the service was marked. Treeland says I need to have the utilities marked again, and forced a reschedule of the tree planting.
Second Delivery attempt:
Texas 811 marks my utilities again. The crew shows up two hours early, and I'm still at work. I get a call from treeland, and they say that the crew reports that it is raining heavily at my house and they need to reschedule. My neighbor reports that the treeland truck is outside of my house for a while, and it didn't rain that afternoon...
Third delivery attempt:
Texas811 marks my utilities yet again. More flags, and more spray paint. Treeland calls and wants to reschedule due to the recent ice storm, weather is lousy, streets are iced over. Completely understandable. Delivery is rescheduled for Dec 14.
Fourth delivery attempt:
Texas811 marks my utilities yet again. More flags, and more spray paint. The crew arrives earlier than the scheduled time, but I am home since it is on a Saturday.. They dig the hole, and plant the tree. All seems well, until closer inspection the next day. I found three good-sized branches broken on one side (just noticed a fourth broken branch today), and several smaller broken branches. Upon telling Derek about this, he offers to have his crew come out Dec 21 and cut the damaged branches off. I state that I'm out of town that day, and I'd like to be there when the tree is pruned. He responds back with where I can prune them myself (I had provided pictures of the breaks).
This whole process would have been A-OK (aside from the constant spray painting of my front yard) had the delivery crew not butchered my tree. Loading and unloading the tree into the delivery truck several times probably didn't help matters much. I wouldn't have wasted my time driving up to their nursery to pick out a nice tree had I known it would be so roughly handled. 5-10 years from now it probably won't matter as the tree fills in, but that isn't the point. I paid to have the tree professionally planted to avoid this sort of problem. While Derek was responsive to my emails complaining about the damage to the tree, not once did he offer an apology. I'm kicking myself for not closely inspecting the tree before they planted it, as I would have refused delivery.
I bought one 45 gal and one 95 gal Shumard Red Oak trees and they are beautiful!!!!
We had a couple of trees in our front yard which had become sick and finally died. My wife is always heartbroken over the loss of a tree and this summer was especially traumatic. Last autumn she was taking a trip for few weeks and I thought how nice it would be to surprise her with some new trees in the front yard when she got home.
So I did some research to get guidance on best types of trees and then to select a supplier, I used Angies List (had to put in the plug) to find a handful of local tree sellers with the best reputations. I went to each of their websites and spoke with them on the phone to understand their pricing, level of service etc. and determined that, for me, Treeland was the best value.
The Treeland people were very warm and helpful. Their history was as a small family business. Because of their passion for trees and plants, the business has grown over the years. And because they have the passion, which I don't, they were very helpful in filling me in on details that I needed to know. They told me about their inventory (beyond what was on website) like which species they had best selection in and what ages were strongest.
We settled pretty quickly on the 3 that I wanted and ordered. It was important to me that they be planted and any mess cleaned up before my wife flew back home. They were happy to do that. But something happened on their end, and I don't remember what it was, and they sent me a message saying that they would have to delay until a date later than my wife's arrival home. I contacted them and explained to the logistics person the importance that I attached to the deliver date. They went back and rejiggered their calendar in order to help me meet the deadline that I had.
In terms of aftercare, they have been extraordinary. They've called a few times to get feedback on how the trees are doing (and all are growing very nicely) and to give me maintenance tips. It's all good.
I would recommend these guys in a heartbeat (which is what I'm doing)
